chibi-master
Hiya, everybody! So, I was checking for holidays on my calendar, and guess what?! Tuesday is Mardi Gras!!! So, what do you have planned for that day, hmm? Or did you not know until you read this? C'mon, share your experiences and whatnot! I know you have them, it's a holiday with drinking, food and beads, for Pete's sake! Usually, I just where colourful beads to school and eat my heart out at home, nothing special really. One time, my friend tried to get me to flash for beads. I stuffed his head into a nearby trash can instead. Yeah, that's my experience. No idea what I'll do this year, though.:animeswea
Drizzt Do'urden
Most guys, especially ones around your age, think Mardi Gras is about that sort've thing....and well it's turned into it. I was going to head to Louisiana for Mardi Gras, was there before Katrina and had a blast and I here it's still as fun as ever. But I think I've decided to just hit a few local joints up in town at least for this year. If anybody heads down there this year, there's a bar (the second one on Bourbon street. Not sure what it's called nowadays, actually can't remember what it was called when I was down there.) They make these drinks called hand grenades, couldn't tell you what went in it but they made the best I had that night.

Sangome
...The only thing Tuesday has for me is the release of two manga that I've wanted for quite awhile now: the newest Phoenix Wright anthology and the first Zetsubou Sensei volume. [and I don't even buy manga much anymore]. So I had no idea it was Mardi Gras. =D;;
SaiyanPrincessX
Yay, how exciting...no I don't do anything for Mardi Gras. My tuesday will be as normal as any other day. Workout, work, martial arts.

Chaos
I live here in New Orleans, so I won't be doing anything special Tuesday. That is to say, I will be going to a few different parades, getting crunk, and trying to stay out of central lockup, just like every year. Might end up on St. Charles, might end up on Vets, might end up on the Westbank. I haven't been to too many parades this season, but the few I've been to I left early. Haven't really felt it this year, but mostly that's because a lot of usual friends are out of town now and my family doesn't do parades anymore, so it's been hard finding spots that aren't overwhelmed. *shrug* We'll see. Beware of imitations. Smaller places are nice. The Dervish is a "Good Ol' Boy" place, and it's off the main bombshell that Bourbon becomes. The Dungeon is a favorite, too. Bourbon Cowboy is always good for some wild fun and some very...interesting young females. But of course, you can just barhop until a) you find a place you like or b) get to one after another and very suddenly realize you don't care what the place is, as long as it has a tap. Either one works. : D
Rachmaninoff
I've never done anything for this holiday. So other than to do stuff for school, and other every day stuff, I have no plans.

I'm pretty sure that because they're so sweet, they have to be masking some hard liquor like Bacardi 151 or Everclear. They're pretty potent. As far as the debauchery and beads thing, I realized about three hours into the festivities that it's not really all about that. Sure, on the surface that's what you may see alot, but if you take a deep hard look, you'll see that Mardi Gras is truly a celebration of not only life, but culture and spirit and it's unlike any other experience.
