Spur of the moment(s)

I made this thread because of a funny story.

Basically, you get three piercings for five pound at a shop near my old school, wherein you have to model them afterwards. I signed up to get a scaffolding, tongue and belly button done. When I arrived, the man says to me "someone dropped out, would you like another piercing for free?" so I said yes. Then he said "...it's a nipple piercing."

I went a head with it.

(It's healing better than the belly button, to be honest, but it was the most painful experience ever because I'm so sensitive. I nearly cried... or... maybe the opposite... I can't recall).

It looks good anyway but it was completely 'spur of the moment'. I've noticed I do this quite a lot after yesterday (you won't imagine how many people looked terrified for me when I told them the story). The first time I ever dyed my hair was impulse, as well, and look what happened there! I just hope I don't turn out like Pauly Unstoppable, no offence to him, heh.

So what've you done on impulse? Did it hurt as much as my experience? There's about half a table left in the piercing place from my clawing now.

If you don't mind me asking what is getting your scaffolding pierced, I assume that it's an eyebrow but with you crazy brits you just never know. (though I picked up quite a bit of....slang? maybe when I was over there, mostly yelled at me at a club in london.)

As far as me I've done a few things on impulse, nothing nearly as drastic as you. But I'm still paying for mine..Enlisting in the military was mostly on impulse, at least everything up until the actual signing of my contract....

Volunteering to go to Iraq was on impulse, I was bored at drill and the sign-up list was posted.....

I bought my car on impulse, my 97 mustang...still going strong (so I guess that's a good impulse).

Like I said, nothing as drastic as getting myself pierced, though I have a tatoo sketch done and ready for the day that I finally go through with it. (I've been waiting on another tatoo impules to send me to the parlor, but I think getting the sketch may have nipped that in the bud)

That would be the scaffolding, but it's also called an industrial bar. It's actually just two piercings with a big bar shoved through them, lol.

I said on impulse one day that I'm getting a smiley face tattooed on my thumb... and I still plan on going through with that XD.

On a whim I decided to take up a completely random stranger's offer to go to an adult club of a very specific sort after meeting him at a college bar.

This of course resulted in my face becoming known amongst the underground of that particular lifestyle rather well. And while this was in socal, I'm recognized up in socal. Oy.

Let's see...

On impulse I cut my hair extremely short, bought some clothes and the Azumanga Daioh thinpack. I weaseled into the photography program at my school for fall quarter two weeks before the quarter started. I then decided five minutes before I left to go to school to dress like a gypsy in the middle of November. I am very random like that.

Recently, I've been getting a lot of anime on impulse too. Mmm anime

I hardly ever do anything on impulse. I just bought a ticket to Stockholm and back for 2 cents though, but I'm thinking of canceling that, because it was so impulsive and I dont like doing impulsive stuff. :(

Oh wait, I impulsively went to Germany to visit the love of my life last year. And that was a good decision. Gotta give me some spontaneity crackers for that!

Kissing drunk boys who have girlfriends. (I have no excuse because I was sober.) Oh the things that happen.

In another incident, I drove to the Freehold Raceway mall, with my friend in the car, on impulse. We were coming back from the shore, and just decided to take a detour. Of course, the Freehold exit we took was, like, nowhere NEAR the mall. We eventually ended up in downtown Freehold, visited the Monmouth County Republican Headquarters (even though I'm a Democrat and he's a Green Party member in Finland), and then asked a policeman how to get to the Freehold Mall. Apparently we made a right to get to downtown when we should have gone left to get to the mall. So close!! (But we got there eventually.)

I made a rather bad impulsive decision today.

Our neighbours are loud at 6 in the morning when getting their brats up for school. The kids scream and shout and jump around the house. The kids also get up through the night and scream and shout, to which the mother (I'm sure she's a druggie) responds by screaming and shouting. Also, they leave the dog out all day and it whines outside all the time because they won't let it back in. It's like a horror house next door.

So I wrote them a polite note and posted it through the letter box (I was home alone trying to sleep with the whining dog and some kid crying and screaming) asking them to kindly stfu. I just basically mentioned all of the above stuff in a sarcastic tone and told them to shut up.

Luckily there's two houses beside them so there's a fifty fifty chance they won't put my windows through.

Vicky, just make sure you keep that naval piercing clean. They get the most infected out of any piercing and are the hardest to keep clean.

Well I did get my eyebrow pierced once because I thought it would look cool. But that didn't last too long.

I think one of the craziest things I did on the spur of the moment was punch my ex husband. But hey I had a reason. I'd driven from Rochester to Ft. Drum (3.5 hrs!)in the rain and then he refused to give me gas money and threatened to just not come down that weekend to visit our daughter then I found out that he'd been having an affair. So really I was quite pissed off and with our then 11 month old in a football hold I punched him in the nose. :animesmil In all honesty I don't regret it and I wish I'd broken his nose since he was such a git about the whole divorce.

Last week on the spur of the moment I came home from work with my daughter, changed my clothes and made an hour drive to Buffalo just to shop. I even bought a pair of Coach sneakers for eighty-eight dollars. But then on the drive back to Rochester my boyfriend managed to talk me out of it

Spontaneity is one of life's greatest treasures.

Monday night at midnight, my great friend Magnus called me and asked if I would like to go to New Orleans for Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras).

Needless to say, I accepted.

If you ever have the chance, go in numbers and be safe, but it will be the greatest time of your life.

Most of mine include mouthing off to a variety of people, most of whom are authority figures. And some more include physically harming idiots that got me PO'd.

I have also been recently volunteering myself and my best friend for random odd jobs that nobody else in their right mind would accept. Like waiting in the breakfast line in the cafeteria for 15 minutes because we agreed to go fetch our teacher's bagel for her.:animestun

Whoa, that's crazy. I'd have to really think about doing that kind of stuff if I really wanted to...but I don't reckon I'll ever need to think about it because I can't even get my ears pierced. I have extremely sensitive ears and they break out into rashes whenever I eat chocolate and an endless list of other itmes that I refuse to give up.

Wow, it seems your neighbor needs some kind of Social Services called on them if they sound that dysfucntional...but then again, my family is loud also...and we're not drunkards or anything. They might not be that bad.

The most impulsive thing I did was go out with someone I didn't like. It only lasted a week and all we did was hold hands and peck each others cheeks. He had no personality whatsoever and could never keep a conversation going. That, and I like spontaneity and I like to do things on impulse--he didn't. We never spoke again.
