Axel
Lets get a-vending! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7967253.stm Seriously... Are we really killing off traditional skills (Like pizza making), or are we just making everyones lives just that little bit easier? (Or, maybe both at once?) I know one thing. The Ninja Turtles would be proud. :P
Drizzt Do'urden
Hmm I guess I'd have to try it and see how good it is. In reality pizza is something hard to ruin, so I figure it would turn into something like automobiles. Sure most places are completly automated. So you can get them anywhere, but you really can't beat a beautiful handmade bentley. Just like pizzas, many places now have premade crusts and all the employees do is smooth them out, add toppings, and put in the oven. Which depending on the ingrediants can make a good pizza, but you just can't beat going down to a pizza place that is all handmade. So if you're in a hurry and just want something to eat they'd be fine, but they'll never replace the classics. So I guess knock yourselves out I suppose. Raiha
Dude. Pizza is really easy to ruin. Trust me. Too long in the oven and you get something that could double as a frisbee that also smells bad. Too long in a microwave and you'll get something that couldn't be chewed by Jaws from 007. Too little time in the oven and you get something that could gag a maggot. Too little time in a microwave and you get something still frozen that will turn rubbery when cooked again. If you make a mistake in the sauce, you'll have a horrible flavor that you can't escape from. If you use the wrong kind of cheese the whole thing will, again, be ruined. If you don't mix the dough properly it won't rise properly or it'll be as hard as a brick when you're done with it. But as someone not lazy, I actually make my own dough and my own pizzas. So I know the ways in which a pizza can contrive itself to asplode.
Rachmaninoff
Just like pizzas, many places now have premade crusts and all the employees do is smooth them out, add toppings, and put in the oven.
That's what I was just thinking, it's already automated to some extent, depending on where you go to get the pizza. Doesn't seem too much different from buying it frozen, you get what you pay for. If you just want some that's quick and easy then sure, I can see having the machine around. Otherwise, you just go to some place that does a better job of it. Like the report said, it's not the first thing to end up in vending machines so I'm sure it won't be the last. =P

Honestly, I have screwed up so many pizzas designed for microwaves! Even ones that are supposed to be non-screw-up-able! Seriously, I've accidentally turned a pizza to liquid when the box said 'Bad-Cook-Proof'! (Can't quite remember the brand for that one...) The cheese just sorta went all gooey and ate up the entire thing... I should probably learn to stay near the microwave when cooking...:animedepr

You seriously turned pizza to a liquid? :animestun And don't worry.....I used to wander away from the microwave too. Dark days they were. :catgirl: Anyway, I think we are doing both.....although I must say a pizza vending machine is the best invention ever! I do hope that we keep the traditional art of pizza making because it is fun. By the way, it is easy to ruin pizza, one little slip up and you're ruined. :animedepr
Drizzt Do'urden
I still think the ruining a pizza is up in the air, I'm still leaning towards hard to ruin it...well unless you're chibi. But that's not fair because it sounds like she'd turn water into a brick by boiling it (no offense chibi, only love) :animesmil.
Gavin
While I'd certainly like to hear about more about the quality and taste of the vended pizza before I'd try it, I certainly can't see any reason why this couldn't catch on in the same way beverage and confectionery vending machines have become commonplace. And they actually promote themselves as a place with good pizza! I couldn't even get my dad's dog to eat it. I'm very particular about pizza. It was next to impossible to find good pizza in central Texas, even the chain places screwed it up. And let's not even go there on everyone screwing up pizza themselves. I tried to make pizza from scratch using the pre-mkade dough and the dough wouldn't cover the whole pan, and the sauce and cheese was all runny. I think I won't do that again :animeswea Unless I can put it on youtube for a laugh.

Sabrina
I rarely mess up anything when I cook. However, I like to cook so I'm always trying out new stuff. Homemade pizza is always super tasty and I seriously doubt some vending machine will ever be better. But! The same is true of sandwiches, cookies and other stuff you can get. So as long as it's fairly decent and not too expensive I don't see a problem with it. If anything, it will give you more to choose from. :catgirl:

Fall
I'd buy one, if I had the money, and set it up in my kitchen. I love pizza. I do agree though, on the other hand, that pizza does tend to taste alot better when hand-made, if the cook knows what they're doing.
Pumpkin
I don't know, to be honest I'm pretty picky about any food that goes into my mouth anyway. So I doubt I'd be down to try a vending machine pizza. What's next vending machines with sushi rolls? Wait, don't even anwser that. Instead I see that being a breeding ground for food poisoning. However you can get a hamburger or chicken from some of the machines.
