Robin Hood is a great movie. Prince of Persia is as good as Avatar; if you loved Avatar then you'll love this movie, and if not then you won't.

That can't be right, I despised Avatar with the burning passion of a thousand suns, but I thought Prince of Persia was pretty okay.

I mean, it's nothing stellar or anything, but it's got some nice action scenes and a coherent storyline. The villain was obvious and the sexual tension was through the roof, but it wasn't pretending to be anything better than what it was.

It also gains points over Avatar for not being a preachy, self-important sack of crap. Edited by gallowsCalibrator

totally digging the new getup. although, I was quite irked that I forgot my password and had to reset it; which took almost a week to do.
during my time away I was working for a friend. The most I had to do was clean her pool, unlike her other lackys she hired who had far worse Also been hacking away at that novel I've been working on, I'll update it as soon as I stop getting all o___o over the new setup of the site...

by the way, have I mentioned writter's block is quite annoying?

There's definitely something to be said for preconditioning.

This can be said of both movies, actually. And in both instances it is equally true.
...but it wasn't pretending to be anything better than what it was.
Yes it was. Or rather, while Avatar was an admittedly clever redux of an old and mediocre story (which still made it mediocre), PoP paid homage to its game with all the quality of a spaghetti-western storefront façade. Doom and the Resident Evil trilogy did better, even setting aside the obvious draw card that is Dwayne Johnson.

I don't know if it occurred to you while watching, or Jake's talent in working with a script stiffer than
omgsexualmetaphor
was enough to distract you from the script itself, but true to Disney standards the movie contained enough force-fed life-lesson hogwash to dam Niagara and Victoria Falls both. It was most definitely a preachy, self-important sack of crap; the only difference is that Avatar was riding first-class on the Al Gore train and PoP didn't say one way or another.

I question your objectivity in dealing with Avatar, sir, for although it certainly was not the glorious archetype of What A Movie Should Be as has been declared to us, it was also no worse than Prince of Persia. Edited by Allamorph

There's also something to be said for disliking something on its own merits regardless of what one was told beforehand. In this case, I'm gonna go ahead and pretend I did the latter.

It didn't do that. That was my point with my earlier comment, and I'm pretty sure you were aware of that, sir. :P

As for the rest, I respectfully disagree and since I doubt either of us are going to change each others' minds about this one, that's my last word on the subject. Either way, hated one, didn't mind the other.

I guess it wasn't that strange then. And don't worry, it might reappear if I can find it again. XD

As far as hair goes Chibi, congrats on growing yours out. ^^

I was thinking of doing the same but, is it worth growing my hair out? D: (I have like a Pixie cut thing going on right now. It used to be long though.)

i figure that saying if you like one thing you will probably like another doesn't mean that its set in stone.

both movies are completely unrelated premise wise, and though i can spot a few patterns here and there i certainly can tell them apart quite easily as well.
im sure when it the statement about liking avatar means liking prince of persia was made it was just the tendency of a slight majority (or majority of people they talked to)
also factors like people who generally like all movies (me) who if you ever go to a movie with them the worst they can say is i liked it. a low score is a seven out of ten.

ALSO it is a strange occurrence for normal hours Piano Parade, but if you worked early shifts you catch more of the senior members of society. I happened to have worked during those hours. I dont know why old people like gettin up early but it becomes a routine, and sometimes it spreads to going out to places. I used to see a certain guy who'd shop every other day, and when he didn't need anything he'd just wait in line with an empty shopping cart after he explored a few minutes.

If you liked Avatar, you'll love Pocahontas. It's the same, but with better acting, better colours and songs.

Wha...? There's singing in Avatar? Didn't strike me that there'd be singing in that movie. Or is that sarcasm? (It's becoming a little hard for me to detect it these days) Edited by Magus

No, no, no. He's saying that the Disney film Pochahontas had singing. It's a great movie, by the way, though not very factual.

Which is why they upped Pocahontas's age to Ambiguously Twenty and made her look like an exotic porn star.

Historic and geographical accuracy was not a goal when making that movie. You know what was an awesome movie, though? The Emperor's New Groove Edited by gallowsCalibrator

Sex and the City 2 is a great movie.

My mom and sister saw that at the German movie theater and they loved it. Been hearing good things, but I'd only go if my GF dragged me to the theater. Good thing she doesn't like that show, so I'm safe.

So, I was out in my garden today with one of my female cockatiels. Everytime the wind blew, she'd grip on my arm really tight and whenever she saw wild birds, she'd hide under my clothing. xD Claw marks galore.
