The Padded Room Party: Random Thoughts

I think professors like to use the "writing assignment" term to terrify students, because honestly that's not all that imposing once you sit down and bugger through it. The idea is to make sure you know the proper procedure to factor stuff, and the only reason for putting it into writing is . . . well, to be annoying.

I mean, seriously. It's fracking math.

So first thing you'll have to do is just work the problems out on scratch paper so you know what you're ending up with. Then you pretend like you're talking through it.

Like so:
The expression 9 - x^2 fits the pattern a^2 - b^2, whose general solution can be written as (a - b)(a + b). Therefore, ....
and so on. It's really just an exercise to see how well you can bull**** words into existence.

If you separate each problem by a blank line, filling up the front side of a page should be no issue. Words take up space when you can string them together a la psychology majors.

@chibi, by the time you get to college, you're used to being given assignments like that. Still annoying, but nothing to get too worried over.
For some reason, I always read this as "Quite F***ing True"....
What the hell? That's amazing, I'm going to use that phrase now.
You know, this is not making me feel any better about school... I'm freaking out over high school work, but then there's horror stories about college! I can taste the failure already...
Don't worry, once you get to college you stop getting most of the BS assignments.

I don't care what any of his naysayers say, seeing Michael Jackson's daughter say how much she loved and missed her father was freaking heartbreaking. I feel so sorry for his kids right now.

On a happier note, I managed to shatter my previous all-nighter gaming record last night. 12 AM to 7 AM. =D

The other day I was digging through my dresser drawers, and I found cat ears. Yes, those cat ears; the kind you typically find at anime conventions. My friend bought it for me at Sakura-Con '08.
Well, I figured I hadn't worn the thing since said con, so I put 'em on and left them there all day. My main objective was just to get the "wtf" reaction out of as many family members as possible.

The best one definitely came from my mom, as detailed below.

Mom: Oh hey, [insert talk about a hair appointment here]
Me: Okay.
Mom: *lingers* ... you have cat ears.
Me: Yup!
Mom: ... Where'd you get them?
Me: A friend bought 'em for me at a con.
Mom: Oh... they're kinda cute. *leaves*

Note she held the same smile in place the whole conversation.
What job should I get? Please help me out guys with this one.
Whoever is hiring. Shouldn't really need help on that. That's like having someone determine what you should be when you grow up.

I'm talking about a profession that would be a good job, not a pain-as-day-statment. I got fired from my manager job at Bob Evans about a month ago, i've been living with my girl for a wile now and I need a job, not a smart-alik remark.

Smart remark from me would be more like "Whatever the hell you find".

"Whoever is hiring" is the realist answer you're going to get from me (without being sarcastic) since the economy is garbage, and you have to go with whatever for now. (stripper, car wash, hitman)

As I've stated, you don't need us to determine what job/career you should go for. It gives off the impression that you let others make your decision for you. But since you think I'm being smart and sarcastic... whatever. God bless.

In other news. I skipped the writing assignment where I was suppose to explain how to factor them polynomials (It's late already, and I rather not stress about it anymore) and went to our next writing assignment which is to explain what the rectangular coordinate system is... YAY >_>. It was easier, but at the same time the thought of having to turn in a writing assignment every Friday for a math class is still on the brain and is annoying as ever.

Edit: Oh yeah, Chibi, [strike]don't believe what you're hearing from Lunox and Rach. I recommend dropping out or never going from jump street.[/strike] I think it sort of depends on what college you're going to. I'm not in a university so I could have it a little easier than most or vice versa, and it can also depend on your teacher(s) too. I have a BSing math instructor that believes you should sacrifice everything to be in class (hence why I can't make up quizzes or get makeup notes) that day even if you can't make it. (Weddings, funerals seems to be non-existant to this lady. If someone was in an accident then what...? Sacrifice going to the hospital to be there. ...Right. I think I'm going to change instructors or something.)

Whoa! When did you turn snarky?

It is a completely realistic answer, hon. How were we supposed to know what you meant?

Try being receptive. It helps when people give you advice.

It also makes people actually want to give you advice in the future. I was going to offer a few ideas, but now I see your attitude all I'll say is rotsa ruck.
