I hate algebra. I also highly doubt I will ever have to use some of the more complicated aspects of it. Grrr.
I don't know.. Depends on what you're going to be majoring in if you go to college. A lot of alegbra can be found in computer drafting and design.. As well as Trigonometry.. Now you want to know a math class that sucks, it's that. (It does help if you have instructors that break it down for you and use it in a real world situations though.)
Doesn't that translate to another hour of being lazy for you Gavin? =P Our switch back is coming up. I like gaining the hour, but I hate how it means it gets darker much earlier.
Nope, as I said I've got used to waking up before my alarm clock so now that's an hour earlier than it used to be. Also yes, it getting dark at 5 pm now is rather sucky.
I can't decide between doing something with the military or law enforcement, or art. I have also been told I would make a great civil rights attorney. But I'm not sure how much I would need algebra or *shivershakequiver* Trigonometry...
If you ever want to understand how anything in the world works, basic math like that is necessary.

And even beyond the whole idea of, "What can I use this equation for IRL?", quite plain and simply, the very concept of how to solve various math problems, and the thought process involved, is crucial to developing how your brain to be able to handle any sort of problems you may encounter. The systematic and logical approach you take in math can be applied to pretty much any situation in life.

While this is more abstract reasoning, it is nonetheless extremely important. There are many transferable skills that one may obtain from math.

But overall, basic math is just one of those things that you'll encounter time and again, regardless of what you may be doing with your life. You don't have to go looking for where you'll be able to apply it; it will all creep up on you soon enough.

Or, in clearer terms, math is the discipline where what you're using to develop your concepts are actually definable. There is only one way to do math; it doesn't change.

Now, the concept of a variable is awkward on occasion. I know many people who struggle with the part that x can be anything because they translate that to "x is anything", and that's not true. x is something. We just don't know what. So we solve equations for x to find out what it is, and we solve inequalities for x to find out what it might be.

But it's only one variable, which means it has (for each problem) only one actual value, whether or not we're able to figure out what it is. In the real world, we constantly encounter and process large amounts of complicated and inter-related variables without thinking about it because that's what we're used to doing. We don't even think about them as variables, we think about them as life.

In the same way, I quit thinking about x being a variable long ago. Now it's just another number. And it just so happens that I don't know what it is.
I hate people. Can I just, IDK, kill some of them?
You could, but the court fees, jail time, parole hearings and possible execution really kind of make it not worth the effort. Personally, I recommend finding an isolated location where you can just swear loudly for a solid minute.
This is the Internet, all explanations are forgotten as soon as they are read. =P
I don't know exactly why, but your response made me immediately think of this xkcd comic, lol.

I'm not that much of a Tekken fan especially after playing Tekken 5 (The only Tekken games I liked were T3 and TTT), but then again I guess that was because I wasn't expecting the ramped up difficulty and the cheap boss at the end (on easy). Now I have a sudden urge to play the game.
Could God create a Game that He could not lose? Discuss.

It depends on whether we consider the three aspects of God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) separate and yet one in the same. Individually the Father may lose the game, but so long as the remainder do not they He is 2/1 up and thus wins by majority... I think.

Anyway, I picked up some of those bread soup bowls and clam chowder at the store the other day. Perfect timing since it dropped down to freezing last night.
