Sangome
I don't know about you all, but I'm a long-time gamer myself. I adore my Nintendo DS, find it one of the best handhelds ever, and encourage everyone to get it. A teenage boy in Florida wanted one too, and his mother was happy to get him one for his birthday. Imagine his delight as he opened the box to his brand new Nintendo DS...and finding a bunch of rocks. Oh, and a rolled up Chinese newspaper. Obviously, the mother went to complain to the local Wal-Mart. No dice. Until... The kicker? Apparently, the same box of rocks was returned previously, to the same Wal-Mart! No word yet on how the box got back on the shelves. I'm feeling a strange combination of wanting to laugh, wanting to headdesk, and wanting to feel pity for the boy. I think I'll go with all three for right now.
John
Hahaha, I love the awful Photoshopping in that picture. I can't get my head around thievery, or stealing from individuals, at least. I accidentally left my mp3 player at work (an infrequently-visited computer lab) overnight once, and when I came back, it had been stolen. This was the first time I'd ever really encountered a situation like that personally, and I was baffled at least as much as I was angry. I just don't get what kind of person sees something they want sitting on a table and says to themselves, "That is now mine." (I'm pretty sure that's what they say, at least). Same thing with this, really. But at least the family got their money back. Eventually.
Raiha
To be honest I would've preferred the memory stick with the pronz on it, provided it was good pronz and not the HBO kind. Of course I already have a DS and a PSP so....maybe I'm just being sarcastic here. If I paid over 100 dollars for a hand held and didn't get my advertised product I would've shot the manager of the store in the head. Or used those rocks to stone him, you know. Either way. But to forestall the inevitable Walmart bashing let us say that Gamestop does the exact same thing, only they have an even less cheerful staff.
chibi-master
So the rocks-in-a-box DS and the porno PSP were both bought from different Wal-Marts in FLORIDA. WTF, Florida? And just how is Gavin going to fix this problem, being the CEO of Wal-Mart?

Manager Pumpkin has arrived! Except I prefer the old put scorpions in a box...adds the element of suprise. It's funny cause I was thinking about some poor little kid, getting the memory card with the porn in it, although im sure to them it would be awesome and they would keep it lol. It's funny cause they went over everything returned, maybe florida is just slacking. Too much fun in miami, I think. Korey
Hahaha, I don't know why I laughed so hard over someone else's misfortune. It's good to hear that Wal-Mart wasn't so stuck up about not getting the people their money back. Whenever I go to Wal-Mart for a refund, all I get is "Are you sure you wouldn't like to get a replacement." Yes, Wal-Mart, I'm sure. I hear that the police have a sketch of the culprit though.... Sabrina
o_O Well that's different. I can see why the store would be reluctant to give them their money back. It would be hard to tell if it really came like that or not. I am glad they got it back though, paying that much money for rocks is a bit crazy. Aaryanna_Mom
Well it's good they got their money back. The only time I've run into something not having what it should is in the pharmacy area. You have to carefully check stuff since people will get into the boxes and steal half of the cold or allergy medicine. I didn't notice it once and ended up realizing, once I got home and was putting things away, that close to a third of the box had been pilfered.
