[*]Each competitor will post 3 [to be discussed] posts. [*]3 or 5 judges of my choosing will vote on the Spar, and I will post the final verdict. [*]The Victor posts the finishing blow.
Now, I have some questions for all involved involved in the RPG, though outside opinion is more than welcome. Is 3 posts per rper an adequate amount, too much, or too little? Do you agree that a limited amount of Judges works well, or should everyone not involved in any given spar vote on it's outcome? Aaaaaaaalso, do you believe we should have a character limit for each post? Like, 500 words or something akin to that? If y'all have any more questions or suggestions, feel free to throw em out here.
DeLarge
I think that three posts each is probably sensible. Any fewer and the fights would probably be over too soon, any more and the fights would probably drag on. And as for the judges, it seems sensible to have a limited number of judges per round (3 would seem the most sensible to me - don't ask why, it just seems right to me), otherwise it'd just be a free-for-all, and it'd get messy. I do like the concept that the victor posts the finishing blow - everyone loves finishers! The word limit seems to make sense, although I can't think of a sensible limit to set, so I guess that's up to you in the end. This looks like it'll be a good'un, I'm looking forward to having a rumble.
Orcus
Much obliged for the input DeLarge; it's good to know I'm not alone in my logic. ;] Though I was hoping to receive another competitor, it seems that I'm out of luck in that department, so time to get the ball rolling on this little shindig. I'd like all competitors, save Kitty, to call out another player for a rumble. If the challenged combatant agrees, I'll get on creating the arena and posting it. After the initial three rounds are completed, Kitty can place her challenge against any one of the three victors. Sound good? Have at it comrades!
Darth Vectis
Oh, well. If that is the way we are playing this game then I challenge............ Vicky! Do you accept my challenge?
Kitty
I'm both a bit happy and disappointed that I have to wait, but that's okay. This way I can finish my sign up (sorry it's taking so long, btw) and watch how the rounds go before having to participate!

Raiha
Can I offer to judge this fight or do I have to find some poor rube to choke to death with a whip?
Orcus
Though death by whip is always entertaining, offers work just as well Raiha. :] Well, I was hoping to run the three first rounds all at once, but I don't know if that will be happening unless more requests roll in soon. On that note, Vicky and Afro, prepare yourselves! In no more than three days you will have the arena set for your spectacular battle. En guarde!
DeLarge
Muuh Puar, I challenge thee! Let's do this thing.
Raiha
*twirls one finger in the air* Zen, getcher ass over here and all that. If he doesn't show up like a big fat coward I get to judge right?
Orcus
Haha, well, saying he takes your taunting and shows up, you're still allowed to vote on either of the other two fights that will be progressing at the same time as yours-- of course, you just won't be allowed to judge your own fight... well, not exactly. But more on that later. Alrighty, as for Afro and Vicky, and DeLarge and Muuh Puar, your fights will be up tonight/tomorrow. If Zen isn't too frightened by Raiha ( ^.^; ) then their fight will be up as well. I'll alert everyone via pm and a post who will be judging which fight. You can decline or accept, and we'll work accordingly. [If Darren is fine with it, he'll judge each round, so only two competitors need be chosen to judge as well]. And on that note, I'd like to discuss the specifics for Judgment. Matches should be judged on: Quality of writing, accurate portrayal of the opponent, no godmodding (though I'm sure I do not have to warn such a fine batch of writers, no, your post should not simply be "I winzorz becuz I am teh awesomest."), and ability to interest and engage the reader. Votes will be posted here, along with a short description of why you think whichever fighter should win, then I will look over them and post who has won. However, we are not the say-all-know-alls of writing, so if you as a competitor think you legitimately "outwrote" your opponent, feel free to post a description of why you believe that. The other competitor can rebuttal or agree, and either a rematch can be arranged or the verdict will stand. I'd like to note-- though I'm sure again, it's unnecessary-- that this an ability I give in good faith, and should not be abused. If you have any questions regarding this matter, feel free to send 'em my way. EDIT 1: My apologies for the length of time I'm taking to get the threads up. It's getting closer to finals here, so my workload has increased quite a bit. But worry not, I'll be getting them up as soon as possible.
Darren
I just wanted to post here and say that I'm definitely up to judging, and if this is okay with Omega, I wanted to add a little bit more to what I'm personally looking for in your posts. In addition to what Omega has said, (which I had already figured as a given) creativity, which falls into keeping the reader interested, is extremely important. Not only that, I want you to accurately portray the environment. Omega gave each of you a general skeleton of the battlefield, but feel free to invent and expand upon those. (Without godmodding of course) Also, I want character development. Even if these characters have no reason to be fighting, (since technically, they were just born) they believe they're fighting for a reason. I want to see their conviction, their quirks, their fears, their weaknesses, their insecurities, etc. Lastly, balance is a good thing to keep in mind. Don't be afraid to hurt the opponent character in your post. Just make sure that the opponent character hurts you back. If it's all dialogue and no action, I will show no mercy when I vote for the other person. And with that, I'm out.
Orcus
Darren... *high five* As unprofessional as that may be, that's pretty much the only way I can sum up my feelings towards you right now. So... *high five* Darren's expectations are exactly the criterion all judges should be scrutinizing the spars by, and the guidelines every writer should keep in mind while sparring. As for the actual spars I'm hoping to see some action soon, as well as a confirmation from Zen that he has time for his and Raiha's battle so I can go ahead and get that up as well.
DeLarge
Alright! The first post of this competition is up and ready for a reply. I'm hoping Muuh Puar comes through, because it looks like it's shaping up to be a fun little scrap.
Muuh Puar
Yeah, DeLarge, I'm going to have to forfeit the rp. I would love to put up a good fight... but I really lost my connection to my character. It's too hard to write for a character I feel like I don't know. I will let you take me down how you see fit.
