Elk
At the top of the threads, there is an option that lets you change the display mode to linear, hybrid, or threaded. Can someone please explain to me the difference between the modes and what they show?
Desbreko
The easiest way to see what they're like would just be to go into a thread with lots of replies and try them out. They're a bit odd. And they usually don't work quite how they're supposed to since a lot of people just click the quick reply button on a random post instead of the one they're actually replying to. What threaded mode does is only display one post at a time but it gives you a little post tree up above it that has links to the posts in the thread and shows which are replies to other posts. You can think of the different branches of replies in the list as being like threads in a forum. Hybrid mode is, as you'd expect, a hybrid between the default linear mode and threaded mode. It still uses the post tree up top for viewing different threads of posts but it also displays multiple posts at a time, sorted in linear order.
