Allamorph
The floor is beneath me; I shall lie down. It resteth me upon shag carpets; It layeth me beside wooden moulding; It restoreth my spine. It leadeth me in the motions of Swiffering, For its shine’s sake. Yea, though I sit in the Chair of the Poor-Postured Hunchback, I shall fear no scoliosis; For thou art ‘neath me. Thy flatness and thy hardness, they comfort me. Thou supportest a table beside me in the presence of my dining room; Thou annointest my head with dust bunnies, Until I vacuum. Surely carpet and linoleum shall be tread on by me All the days of my life; And I shall pay off the mortgage for their house Forever.
Jabberwocky
That was a very well-written and enjoyable poem. I really liked the old style you used, it flowed nicely. The poem itself is very interesting. Either the person is tired or cleaning his home, or he's 'cleaning' things up in a different way. But a good piece indeed.
Allamorph
I suppose I should note that this is a parody of Psalm 23. Otherwise a great deal of the humor is lost.
Aaryanna_Mom
I got that it was intended to be humorous. It was fairly obvious if one is familiar with Psalm 23, which I am. I'll admit it, it made me laugh. :catgirl:
