I'm surprised that no one is talking about that new Zelda... Skyward Sword or something like that. Like I said, Zelda has been tiring me out. That's 3 Zelda games in one show.. Nintendo fans should be pleased for quite some time now with the games that're being milked now. Although, I will admit that I'm fairly curious about the Other M.

I think it might be because the presentation was...underwhelming. The controls messed up, which wasn't very impressive, but I doubt those technical things will be a problem with the final game and it might have been due to cell phone interference. Other than that, there didn't seem to be anything really extraordinary about the new Zelda, it just seemed like Twilight Princess with a different art direction, but not as radical as Wind Waker.

I'm actually quite interested in Skyward Sword; the visual style is pretty intriguing, although I think it looks best in the environments and backgrounds as opposed to the character models, at least from what we've seen so far. Though, yeah, the 3DS easily stole Nintendo's show.

Lets just hope that's what happens and it doesn't get ruined in the process.

I can't see any reason to assume that anything else would happen. We're talking about EAD, after all.

And I agree that one of the main reasons people aren't talking much about Skyward Sword is due to the on-stage demonstration - it was so shoddy that Miyamoto had trouble communicating the controls at all.

Having said that, it seems pretty clear that this was caused by an inadequate stage setup rather than actual problems with the game itself. A few early impressions seem to bear that out. My main hope, though, is that EAD is probably the most control-centric developer on the planet - I wouldn't imagine them releasing a game with poor controls at this point. Let's hope not, anyway!

Edit: I am personally really loving the art style for Skyward Sword. I actually think that it will end up being pretty awesome - I really love how you can roll or throw bombs and stuff like that. My main hope, though, is that there's some significant variation to the overall game structure - including the way dungeons work and such. We'll see, I guess.

I have high hopes that Zelda: Skyward Sword will bring something new to the series. It's probably too early to really tell anything though.

And +1 to Scott Pilgrim and Batman: Brave and the Bold! I miss 2D brawlers so much. What a wonderful time to be a fan 2D games. Edited by Treble

This is why school is bad people. It gets you thinking and imagining things that's not true.... It's like a new weed or something

Now that I'm done playing the blame game... Off to watch some vids of Gears of War 3. Edited by Magus

I just doubt Skyward Sword will have that much variation, when it comes down to structure. Which I actually have no problem with, it's the Zelda formula and I like that it repeats with every game. I would just want the difficulty level to be higher.

I like the general storyline of it, though. :) In Wind Waker you conquered the seas and now it's time for the skies!

But do you really play Zelda for the plot? o_O

I mean, Zelda games have always had a plot (at least as compared to, say, Mario)...but I wouldn't say Zelda plots have ever really been earth-shattering. They've been largely the same since the original NES release.

We already know that duality will play a big part in Skyward Sword - Link starts off living in a city in the sky and he journeys to the world below (where all the monsters are). The Skyward Sword allows him to travel back and forth between these worlds.

To me, this is already conceptually no different to Twilight Princess's two realms, OoT's past/future and Link to the Past's light and dark worlds.

That's not to say I don't enjoy Zelda's plots, but let's face it...Zelda has never really been terribly plot-centric. The plots are always an excuse to facilitate gameplay. I'm happy about that - it makes Zelda very different from, say, Final Fantasy.

For me, Zelda is all about game control, fighting and puzzles/exploration.

So I've heard. I haven't seen any trailers of it yet though, so yeah... I also heard that Ice-T's going to be voicing one of the newer characters. Ought to be interesting, especially since I thought the voice work in GoW2 was great. Considering Ice-T's work in Law & Order: SVU (Fin's a pimp XD), I'm looking forward to hearing him do voices. Fair enough. I'm actually really interested to see what enhancements they will bring to OoT - it could be an even more brilliant game with some modern tune-ups. I am already liking the graphics overhaul.

There are just too many games I'm interested in at this E3 to even really mention them all. There's actually a ton of stuff I'm interested in on PS3 and Xbox 360, as well. I'm really looking forward to Journey by thatgamecompany. I already own Flow and Flower - both are among my favourite games on PS3.

I just wish they were remaking OOT for the Wii and not the 3DS. I am really not interested in the new DS console.

No, it's made specifically for the Wii.

Edit:
Okay, finally saw gameplay footage of both Gears of War 3 and Metroid: The Other M (How the heck did I get this mixed up with Zelda is still beyond me...) Gears of War 3 looks pretty good even though it still looks the same as Gears of War 2. If I play FPS's it's mainly for the single player experience, so of course I'm a little disappointed to not see more story footage but, I guess I can't be too greedy lol.

The Other M... I'm a little split. I like the look of the game, but I'm not so sure I like how the gameplay is being handled at the moment. (I keep forgetting that you can use the Gamecube controller and whatnot) But I'd probably blame the person who was playing the game. But still, point and shoot, I'd much rather see that in FPV because with it being like the way it is now and knowing Team Ninja's history with horrible camera angles would probably make me not want to try the game out.

Oh yeah, Goldeneye remake. I'm also iffy on that.. Visually speaking, it looks terrible, but actual gameplay, I am a little interested. Too bad there's no Pierce Brosnan (sp?) Edited by Magus
