Anime Favorite Fights

I've been debating on whether I want to do this thread or not. Kind of thought there'd be a thread on this a long time ago.

Considering how much of a fan I am of fights (a story can be really bad, but if it has some great fights I wouldn't care) and I just know how much we all love the "favorite" topics I figured might as well get one of these rolling as well. You can describe the fight or post a video. It don't matter to me.

I'll say this much on my end though. Almost every video I post is for its animation and the fights tend to keep me glued to my seat.

I'll probably ramble off a long list of my favorite fight scenes once I've had a chance to compile it but for now I'll just submit a video of the one that stands out the most in my mind.

Don't have any clips to share for them (they all seem to be AMVs), but all the dogfights in [b]Macross Plus[/b] are amazing. So much intense, high-speed action with planes that actually function as [i]planes[/i] instead of nigh-invincible death machines.

Man, I'll have to think about this before I can offer more of a reply, but the following scene from Jubei-chan 2 immediately came to mind.

"The uninterrupted best sword fight in anime history" is hyperbole. Given the fact that this comes from a midlist TV series that aired in 2004, though, it's pretty darn impressive. Love how the style is carried to such an extreme. Also worth noting that it was directed by the guy best known for Fruits Basket. At first it seems like you're not seeing much... then you realize just how much you [i]do[/i] see in some parts, and it's amazing. Much better on a nice big TV, of course.

[Pleiades Rising]

First thing that came to mind was the fight between Asuka in Unit-02 and the forces of Seele - [i]plus[/i] mass produced Eva units, in [i]The End of Evangelion[/i]. It was bloody, violent - and oddly beautiful and poetic at times. Top it off with J.S. Bach's "Air" floating overhead, and we have the makings for a highly memorable and affecting fight.

Tentacle, you're so cruel for that one. Here I am thinking I was gonna see a nice shootout only to see something like that. I did chuckle though lol.

I should really check out Jubei-Chan 2 some day considering how I'm hearing it's less comedic this time around and more action oriented.

DRAT!  I was just thinking about posting the grand finale to SotS!  Oh well, one good samurai deserves another.

Samurai Champloo had so many awesome fight scenes that it's hard to choose.  But this is the one that started it all so it deserves special mention:

Fandub video is all I could find, but this is the best fight from one of the most down-to-earth [b]Gundam[/b] series -- [b]08th MS Team[/b]. No special powers; just average mecha and pure piloting skill. This is what happens when a bonafide ace pilot goes up against solid, lucky soldiers.

[color=indigo]A few come to mind, the first is Spike versus Pierre Le Fou from [b]Cowby Bebop[/b]. I especially like the shadow scene where Spike is repeatedly "air" kicked. The second scene from [b]Bebop[/b] is Spike versus Asimov. The fight is okay, but it is really brought up a notch with [i]Rush[/i] playing in the background.

Another favorite of mine is Jubei versus Utsutsu from [b]Ninja Scroll[/b]. Pretty old school, but still classic.

Taking a page from Heaven's Cloud with Cowboy Bebop. Spike vs Vincent (both fights) in Knocking on Heaven's Door was great.

A lot of the Yuu Yuu Hakusho fights, especially from the Dark Tournament arc (Hiei v. Bui, Yuusuke v. Toguro), and Kuwabara's battle against Seaman from the Chapter Black arc.
