With the dying of the day's light, a shadow begins to spread over Konoha. Despite a time of relative peace, many begin to sense the looming threat in the distance. The world stands still, silent for the time, yet strained somehow. The five great ninja villages all remain hidden behind their walls - although all feel the tensions rising, none allow their borders to be unguarded. Fearing the worst in each other, the five villages have ceased nearly all communication with each other, and prepare themselves for a possible threat.

However, not all feel the ever approaching danger in the air. Normal citizens go about their daily lives, and spurred on by words of safety from the Fifth Hokage Tusande, the young shinobi continue to train to become stronger. Genin continue to take small tasks around the town, preparing themselves for the up -and-coming Chunin exam, while those who have already attained the rank of Chunin train both themselves, honing their combat prowess, and training the students at the ninja academy. Nearing the end of their final semester, one such group of students are fervently preparing to take the necessary graduation exam and become Genins.

This, is their story...

Okay, so as you can no doubt tell, the description for this RP is being kept relatively vague. There will be an over-arching plot to this story, but as of right now, that is not important. The RP will work as such:

I will accept two others into the RP, each a student graduating from the academy, and will eventually form a three-man team with as we all become Genins. There will be a Jonin character provided as well, but this will remain as a character that we can all RP freely with simply for plot progression and character development. As I stated before, there will be an overarching plot-line, but it will be subtle to begin with, mostly hints at what's happening as we progress through our own story. The RP, after things take off and the three man team is formed, will follow a mission structure. I will begin with a mission for our team to undertake, and when it is completed, the next mission will be decided upon by one of the other authors, then upon completion a new mission will be initiated by the third author - so on and so forth. These missions will serve as a chance for character development and progression until the real plot kicks in.

The timeline for this RP is slightly complicated - it takes place in the Naruto universe approximately at the point in the series where Shippuuden begins. That being said, you can imagine our RP as one, enormous filler arch - characters from the Naruto universe exist within the story for continuity purposes (i.e. Tsunade as Hokage) but no one from Naruto cannon will really be in our RP. That means no Akatsuki threat, no cannon characters showing up to save the day - all of the characters in this RP will be created by us.

As a side-note, Iâ??d prefer it if everyone who signs up is caught up with the anime, just to ensure that everyone knows and understands how the ninja-world works. If youâ??re not caught up but want to post a sign-up anyways, please send me a message telling me how far into the series you are.

Character sign-ups will be done as follows:

[b]Name:[/b] Just for continuty's sake, please name your character starting with their clan name, followed by their given name
[b]Physical Description:[/b] This will include all necessary info - name, height, appearance, (all characters should be about 12 since we're in the academy) etc. If you want to include a picture as well that's fine, so long as it goes with the write-up
[b]Strengths and Abilities:[/b] Please don't go too overboard on this, as all characters are still in the academy at this point. This will be more of a where your character's strengths lie, and some of the abilities they will eventually get.
[b]Bio:[/b] No more than a hundred words or so, but feel free to write as much as you want.


[b]Name:[/b] Yakanashi Toshiro

[b]Physical Description:[/b] Toshiro is of average height for his age, although a bit on the small side. He has long black, messy hair that he often wears in an untidy ponytail. Toshiro wears the standard shinobi combat-mail (although this wonâ??t be worn until he becomes a Genin) underneath a dark blue shirt (the mail goes to his wrists, but the shirt ends at his elbows) and dark grey pants extending down to his ankles. He wears the standard blue sandals most Konoha shinobi are seen wearing, and when he eventually attains the Konoha forehead protector, he ties it around his left arm. He has dark blue eyes.

[b]Strengths and Abilities:[/b] Toshiro is a fairly capable and competent student at the academy, placing approximately 5th overall in his class â?? heâ??s not the strongest member, but not the weakest by far. He relies heavily on water-based ninjutsu and basic taijutsu while in combat, but his greatest strength lies in his ability to stay calm under pressure and come up with effective strategies while fighting.

[b]Bio:[/b] Toshiro is fairly calm and collected. He prefers to analyze situations before taking action, hating hasty and risky attacks. Toshiro was born and raised in Konoha and has only ever left the village a handful of times. Trained at a young age by his parents and two older brothers, Toshiro found that many basic ninja skills came fairly easily to him, unfortunately instilling a sense of impatience regarding more difficult to master techniques.

The Yakanashi clan is fairly well-known throughout Konoha as a clan of shinobi who use water-based jutsus. However, their true strength in battle is through the use of a special water-based genjutsu that assaults their enemyâ??s mind, making them believe they are underwater and causing them to drown. Toshiro, one of the only Yakanashi clan members to be born without an innate ability in genjutsu, often has feelings of inadequacy for being unable to learn this technique, and although none ever say it out-right, is often seen as a bit of a failure by the majority of his clan. Name: Hashiki, Maru

Physical Description: Maru is pretty tall for his age and it's apparent that he's going through puberty just by looking at him. He's around 5'7 or 5'8 and has a lean build. Maru's hair color is white and goes about shoulder length. Usually his hair is tied up in pony tails by the side burns and in the back. Occasionally he'll place the extra free lieing hair on the top of his head. His face is a bit serious and this allows him to be taken "Seriously". He wears a shuriken pouch around his waist on a belt that is put on over his shirt. His shoes are tabi and are what he really prides himself in. Different designs and colors, his tabi are his real defining feature. His pants are baggy, but tight at the entrances of the pants. They're black and usually have a kunai holster over them on both legs. His shirt is a tight vest that he wears to show off his arms. The gloves he wears are styled on tekken fighting styles andn have metal platings on the fist. The finger holes only come up to the first patch of each finger.

Strengths and Abilities: Maru prefers to fight close-up using kunai and other weapons. He can make due at far range using shoehorn and an assortment of ranged jutsus. Starting with his close combat weapons, he has many kunai placed around his body. He also uses kenjutsu with only his kunai (He doesn't have a sword yet). Though he's not very experienced in it, Maru does have a wind chakra affiliation. Maru conceals kunai, wire, and explosive tags around his body. As his last resort, Maru has a tanto strapped to his back. With a balanced combination of wind ninjutsu and kenjutsu Maru plans to carve his name into the konoha history books.

Bio: Maru was born in konoha (obviously) and grew up looking up to his dad for inspiration. His father was a part of the S.W.O.R.D. Ninja corps. Mary thought his father was a sword god because of the things he knew how to do. From the time that Maru's father died, he wanted to become the leader of a now dying S.W.O.R.D. His doesn't have a rival or love interest yet.

[font="Tahoma"][color="#696969"][b]Name:[/b] Hiyazuka Temaru

[b]Physical Description:[/b] Temaru is slightly taller than average for his age, and is a bit on the skinny side with pale white skin (think Shino's skin, not Orochimaru or Sai). He wears a green cap overtop his long unkempt black hair with a tan coloured scarf that hangs off his back as a sort of cape. The scarf doubles as a hoodie and his black Ninja Cat, Meko, often sleeps there. He wears the standard dark blue jumpsuit underneath his own green military vest (which he'll swap for the Chuunin one) and has dark brown gloves that he'll eventually berid of. Both Meko and Temaru have their own headbands that they wear loosely around their necks.

[b]Strengths and Abilities:[/b] Temaru has never been the worst or best of his classes, always falling somewhere in between. He prefers to aid his comrades from a distance rather than run in fighting himself. While his Taijutsu is very strong and his ninjutsu relies heavily on collaboration with his Ninja Cat, Meko, Temaru prefers not to fight up close and instead aids his comrades from a distance. He also has the uncanny ability to dodge most attacks no matter the type with his nearly perfected Body Flicker and Body Replacement Techniques (Kawarmi no Jutsu and Shunshin no Jutsu respectively) making him an excellent scout. It's rumored among the Chuunin and higher-ups that he's next in line to learn the Space-Time Technique "Jikukan Ninjutsu" but as it's an S-Rank Ability, Temaru doesn't even know of its existence yet.

Temaru's affiliation is with Earth however he only knows one technique at the moment. He uses the Earth Style Quick Growth Technique on his cat Meko (causing Meko to grow from the size of Little Akamaru to twice that of Shippuuden Akamaru) to make him a more viable combat partner and quicker mode of transportation. Temaru carries numerous kunai and explosive tags for back-up situations, as well as an abundance of smoke bombs that he uses regularly in and out of combat.

[b]Bio:[/b] The Hidden Village of the Leaf used to be a haven for Dog and Cat Shinobi alike. Ninja Cats and Ninja Dogs had always had issues working with each other but two clans of Konoha managed to get them to set aside their differences for the greater good. This was the Inuzuka Clan, who earned the eternal respect of the Ninja Dogs, and the Hiyazuka Clan who partnered with the Ninja Cats.

That was, however, until the attack of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. Most of the Hiyazuka Clan was wiped out in the fight in a turn of unfortunate events and the Ninja Cats who survived blamed the Inuzuka Clan and their Ninja Dogs for the attack as, after all, the Demon Fox was a giant dog. Shortly after the attack, what remained of the Hiyazuka clan left Konoha for good placing their loyalty with the Ninja Cats over Konoha. However one member of the Hiyazuka clan remained in Konoha. This was Temaru's mother, Jenmari, who had fallen in love with a member of the Inuzuka clan shortly before the attack. She was accepted whole-heartedly into the Inuzuka clan but was forced to keep her maiden name.

When Temaru was born years later, it was discovered he had inherited his mothers past when at the Age of 10 he summoned the Ninja Cat Meko in an attempt to summon a Ninja Dog for himself. The entire Inuzuka clan watched in disbelief as Temaru quickly befriended the Ninja Cat and it was at this point that Temaru was forced to change his clan name from Inuzuka to Hiyazuka, something he was proud to do.

Temaru strives to achieve a future where the Inuzuka Clan and Hiyazuka Clan live in harmony in Konoha once again. [/color][/font] Edited January 20, 2011 by White

[b]Name[/b]: Shintate Masashi

[b]Physical Description[/b]: Members of the Shintate clan usually end up as high end actors, models, or any other profession where they can show themselves off without coming off as too conceited. The members of the clan are known far and wide for their stunning good looks. Masashi is very handsome for an eleven and a half year old. He is average height and thin, all of his features are very angular. His dark brown hair is about six inches long always looking as if a powerful gust of wind had run through it. His eyes, also brown, are equally dark and perfectly shaped and placed on his face. Like all the members in his clan he has a tanned, smooth completion and is always wearing clothing made from the finest fabrics money can buy.

[b]Strengths and Abilities[/b]: His nonchalant demeanor and half hearted attempts at anything difficult have landed him almost at the bottom of his class. He can perform the basic jutsu that the academy teaches but hasnâ??t gone out of his way to add any new techniques to his repertoire, and since he is the first ninja in his clan his family has no techniques to offer or anyone to turn to for advice. He is equally terrible in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu and doesnâ??t know much about how ninja techniques work or some of the most basic aspects of chakra. He doesnâ??t know what his elemental affiliation is, nor does he even know that everyone has different ones.

[b]Bio[/b]: Though the Shintate clan is based out of Konoha they often away on trips to other lands, vacationing or visiting friends and family. While the entire Shintate clan is well off, Masashi was born into a particularly wealthy family. His parents were very famous actors, now retired directors, and his older brother is a rising star in the movie industry as well.

Masashiâ??s parents were never supportive of him, and as an act of rebellion he decided to become a ninja. His father was not happy with the decision but allowed it. After receiving notice that Masashi was doing poorly he has all but shunned his son, regarding him as a failure. The family often leaves for distant lands, sometimes for months at a time, leaving him with the familyâ??s entire compound to himself.

Most of the other kids are jealous of Masashiâ??s life, his mother buys him whatever he wants ,he is the most popular kid in the academy, he is the crush of every girl their age, and he gets to be home alone in a big mansion a lot. Masashi feels differently, though he never shares his true emotions with anyone and always puts up a cheerful front.

[b]Name:[/b] Kudara Suki

[b]Physical Description:[/b] Suki is short for her age and nearly all the other students tower over her by a few inches or more; she is very lithe and slender regardless, making her appear much frailer than she really is. She has jet black hair worn in a short, pixie-cut style except for two strands, falling along the length of her face which she religiously dyes a dark purple. Suki normally wears a sleeveless dark blue dress over black training shorts. Her weapons pouch is attached to black belt worn low on her waist and she has a kunai pouch strapped to her left thigh at all times. She wears the standard shinobi sandals until she becomes a Chuunin, at which point sheâ??ll switch to black combat boots. Her skin is pale and she has sharp hazel eyes.

[b]Strengths and Abilities:[/b] Suki is a talented and quick learner and her standing as 2nd overall in her class reflects this. Her strengths are based in advanced taijutsu and her developing wind-based ninjutsu skills although she struggles with genjutsu, her skill in this area purely basic. While her quick temper and difficulty working well with others hinder her in battle, she is resourceful and cunning in combat and her ability to improvise under pressure make her a dangerous and unpredictable opponent.

[b]Bio:[/b] Suki is the second youngest of six unruly children and the only girl among them. Rather than allowing her older brothers to bully her, Suki learned to fight back at an early age and has become one of the more dominant voices of her household, having an unhealthily intense rivalry/hatred towards her oldest brother, Shiro, and the tentative approval of her father. This reflects heavily in her relationships with others, her driven and competitive nature often grants her more rivals than friends. She respects power, ambition and hard work but detests arrogance and ignorance in any form.

Despite her tendency to bully people more than befriend them, once you gain Sukiâ??s respect and trust itâ??s very hard to destroy it. Sheâ??s loyal and protective towards her friends and despite all outward appearances she holds a great deal of affection for her brothers (most of them). Rumour has it she can be downright [i]maternal[/i] when called upon, most especially towards her younger brother, Koji, since the death of their mother some four years previous. This is of course, just a rumour, and anyone who suggests otherwise often ends up with a broken nose for their foolishness.

The Kudara clan is widely respected as an old and powerful ninja clan and holds some political influence inside Konohaâ??s council. Clan members are proficient in wind and air-based jutsuâ??s with the most powerful able to â??flyâ?? for short periods of time by manipulating air currents. Sukiâ??s father, Hiromasa, is the current patriarch of the clan and as such has placed enormous pressure on his children, training them mercilessly, expecting perfection and sometimes even going so far as to have them fight each other to earn their meals. Sukiâ??s brother Shiro is next in line to lead the clan and is visibly eager (some would say [i]too[/i] eager) to take over upon their fatherâ??s death.
