[size=3]The world as we know it has changed dramatically within the years that the Thinners arrived, the government that we known has dissolved almost completely. People left over from the attacks gather together now as they try to rebuild their lives, towns erected that are either built by hand or salvaged from the ruined homes. There are still small pockets of government left, if you can call them that, as they typically turn out to be just power mongering men who have gathered what is left of our military force.[/size]
[size=3]The lines between states no longer apply, the country no longer divided except by those few who are trying to claim the world for their own and build their idea of a â??perfectâ?? system. But, no matter how these men act, they are nothing compared to the real threat that everyone faces. The Thinners.[/size]

[center][b][u]The Thinners[/u][/b][/center]
[size=3]Anyone who has been alive in the last decade knows about the threat that tried to take our world, we call them Thinners. These creatures look humanoid in appearance, having the same appendages as we did and the same physical structure about them. But that is where our similarities stopped; their skin is one of their most shocking features as it is a sickly grey that seems to be stretched across their body. The move stiffly when they arenâ??t hunting, it is vaguely reminiscent of what a zombie might look like, but unlike a zombie they had a clear intelligence to them.[/size]
[size=3]Able to set up traps, to create plans of attack and even speak; their words are harsh to human ears and very guttural, but it seems to work for them as they were able to destroy humans with it. Thinners have a diversity to them like humans do, some are larger than others, some smaller, some faster and others slower. But it really doesnâ??t matter to them as they all have the same purpose, and before we learned the words against them, it didnâ??t matter how many we killed as they seemed endless. But times have changed, and the Forgotten now stand in their way.[/size]



[center][b][u]The Forgotten[/u][/b][/center]
[size=3]The role of the Forgotten is simple; to be the force that stops the Thinners from coming back into our world. There are many gateways across the world; each gateway is guarded by an order of the Forgotten or chapter. Each chapter has a different name for the location specific to them, each group chooses their own name and each Name Bearer uses that name along with a new name for added protection. Our chapter is known as the Shadowstomb, we are one of the original chapters started and has a reputation for getting things done by any means. But, no matter how well you are appreciated, we are still feared by the normal person as we ask for something that not everyone is willing to give up.[/size]
[size=3]In exchange for your membership, we take your memories, we take the life you had before you came to the Forgotten and we give you a new family. Few wish to give up what they hold dear, especially something as precious as memories, but it is the price we pay in order to keep the rest of the world safe.[/size]

[center][b][u]The Name Bearers[/u][/b][/center]
[size=3]The Name Bearers are a select few within each Forgotten clan, these men and women taking on the task of Name Bearer are given one task that is paramount to the whole Forgotten. They are charged with all of the memories of every single Forgotten within their chapter, carrying everything that they were within themselves. Each chapter has two Name Bearers, both have the same memories of all of the members, but they were instill with a failsafe, to prevent the Thinners from taking one Bearer and all the names within. The Bearers memories are linked during the process in which they take the memories from the Forgotten, the duplicated memories create a link between the two sets of memories. They are a complete memory to the ones bearing it, but when extracted through one Bearer the memories distort and create false images.[/size]
[size=3]Both Bearers are required for the process to be successful, but this information, along with the actual process in which the memories are taken is information only the Name Bearers know and are sworn to keep, under penalty of death. Only the most dedicated are given the title of Name Bearer, and so far, each has proven worthy of the name, for now.[/size]
