Hai thar ;) I'm Emily and my favorite animes are Sword Art Online and Soul Eater. I like Hetalia a lot, too! I watch and favorite MANY other animes, but those are probably my top three. My hobbies include Drawing, Writing, Singing, and doing Random crap. ^3^ Yup, pretty much.

Greetings all, I am pleased to introduce myself, all tho this is my first time introducing myself on any forrums, (not counting; myanimelist)

 

I´m a bit clueless what to say, guess I explain my username to fill in some space

Akulilum, its my username on most site and or games, I assume most people here know the meaning of aku or æ?ª, its a divinition of something evil or bad etc etc, and I guess while rewatching elfenlied once again with some drinks I came up with Akulilium, since the opening song is called; Lilium Cruentus I ended up putting those two words togather, Genius ! O.o

 

I have joined these forums in the hope to meet some people with similar interrests as me.

Reason for this, is that most of my friends aren´t interrested in anime at all, and after spending to much time with them  I get bored cause of lack of discussions id like to have about a particular anime or eroge

I wonder if I should post here. Most remaining members tell me forget about threads that are over six months old, but I still have hope that this site still draws breath. I'm new to this site as of December 2013, blah, blah. I came to this site over a Google search, so it's by random that I even found it... or it's fate, either way I'm here! I'm a 19 yo man whose sole purpose in life is to RP, sleep, and play Minecraft. I currently have one thread that I've started and am holding out hope that ppl join it. It goes by the name of The Corinthian Endeavor. Hope you all enjoy my presence as I am working to revive this site anyway I can.

I'm a mother of two girls, a girlfriend, a gamer, body mod enthusiast, mild otaku who loves dark fantasy, action and monsters. Some of my faorites are Outlaw Star, Attack on Titan, Bleach, Darker than Black. I love gardening and flowers, making jewelry and painting projects. I like to talk so I'll probably be around a good bit.

Hello everybody!  I feel as if i'm coming to the party fashionably late, but I am happy to be part of it nonetheless!

To divulge a bit about myself first before I explain why i joined this site, I am an 18 year old dude who likes to spend most of his time reading books of fiction (preferably sci-fi), non-fiction, and manga along the lines of Death Note, Bakuman, Pokemon. Watching anime, and being involved, in a abstract sense, with the adventures of those embark on them has also become an integral part of who I am because of the influential impact OVA(S) have had on my life. To be direct: anime rules!

My main aspirations as a budding individual is to hopefully become a part-time artist; whether it be associated to manga or other dimensions of expression does not matter. It's the journey that counts.

I joined this site in hoping that i can connect to others with the same interests, hobbies, and passions as myself, and i hope that i can make a positive influence in the community by advertising my art in the future--if i can get my lazy butt to be a bit more productive lol!!! -_-

Hi, I use to be a member (Galvatron, terrible poster) here back in 2002-2005 but I lost my old password. What can I say about myself? I don't watch anime as heavily as I use too but recently I watched Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning and Hunter x Hunter on Netflix. I collect S.H.Figuarts and I have recently begun cosplaying as an Mandolorian Mercenary from Star Wars at Comic Con 13 and 14. You can also say I'm a big fan of video games, I own a Ps4, Ps3, and a Wii.  Why did I rejoin this community? The Otaku just popped up in my head today and I felt all nostalgic. Hopefully I stay active and contribute to the forums.

I have only been an anime addict for about three months, although I have been "around" anime and manga for years.

 

My son is seventeen now, and he has been into manga (more than anime) since as long as I can remember.

 

In fact, he was guilty for introducing me to my first anime experience.

 

On September 1st, my girlfriend of eight years broke up with me, out of the blue. No apparent provocation, and no explanation. She just moved out one day, and told me "it's too difficult to be with me."  ((Now she tells me she loves me and she's sorry she messed everything up, but "it's just too difficult."))

 

I am UBER shut-in. Like... I leave my house maybe once a month, and that's usually only for an occasional doctor appointment. So, my ex and my son tend to be the only two people I see for months on end sometimes.

 

On the day that she dumped me, all I could do was have a colossal, perpetual, nervous breakdown, which is still producing Japan-size aftershocks to this day.

 

My son finally broke after I had been crying for 16 hours straight. He sat me down in front of the t.v., cued up Netflix, and hunted up Puella Magi Madoka Magica. We marathoned the entire series together, in one sitting.

 

It struck a hardcore chord in me, cause I WOULD give anything to end evil and corruption... or do away with "witches" before they even exist; even if it meant sealing my fate as being nothing more than a "forgotten concept."

 

Not to mention, my hair  has been bright pink since longer than I knew what anime is. And I'm pretty sure that I am destined to fade into non-existence with nary a soul remembering I ever did exist.

 

Needless to say, I identify with Madoka.

 

Since September, I have watched countless anime series. My favorite is, hands down, Death Note. I've watched

*the (2006) t.v. release of the series

*the (2009) dvd release of the series

*(the live movies) Death Note, -- Death Note: The Last Name, -- and, L: Change the World;

*(as well as) Death Note Relight: Visions of a God, -- and Death Note: Relight: L's Successors

And have lost track of how many thousands of times I've listened to all three OSTs. Also, I developed an infatuation for "Maximum the Hormone."

(Ryuzaki "L," is the main attraction that drew me into Death Note. "L" is the initial of my real first name. I have built-in black circles under my eyes from months of insomnia. I scrutinize everyone and everything. I'm extraordinarily analytical and investigative. I grew up in foster-homes. and I'm not sure I've ever had an actual friend. )

 

So... I've spent the last quarter of a year, with absolutely no rhyme or reason, and no direction for my life. In six months, my son will graduate high-school, (presently he is home-schooled.) June of next year, I become NOTHING. But by then I will have watched enough animes to put even Netflix to shame.

 

So.... In a last ditch effort to seek like-minded individuals, I took a wild stab at searching "Otaku message boards," and the top bing result led me here.

 

So... if you've read this far, I feel extremely sorry for the severe boredom you were experiencing, compelling you to commit such a heinous act as reading through all of this.

 

Still with me? Wow, you are indeed someone I admire for your tenacity.

 

I hope that some of you will be sparred to come out of the woodwork, and smell the young-blood.

Madoka, first and foremost, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reply here. I actually did read your intro post last month but never had a chance to sit down and respond to it. Despite the lack of activity here, you have found yourself a good group of people and are certainly among friends.

 

I'm sorry to hear about the end of your relationship and the poor circumstances for finding anime but I am glad it's been able to help you cope a bit as well as bring you closer to your son. Silver lining, perhaps? He sounds like he really cares and it's awesome he was able to get through to you and help you through this.

 

I actually only recently watched Madoka myself but I truly enjoyed it. I hope you can identify with Madoka's positive aspects as well, and not just the negatives.

 

I've only seen bits and pieces of Death Note but it's definitely something I intend to fully watch at some point.

 

Anyway, let me wrap this up with a big welcome to the community. I wish you the best of luck with everything and I hope to see you around here moving forward.

My username was me simply filpping pages in my japanese-english dictionary because pinku,murasaki,and hasu where taken already. Hoso really just means broadcast. I singed up to ask a question of the community. Does any one know any good cosplay accessories shops that are turstworthy? I ask beacsue one I am cosplaying for the first time as konan from akastuki the next anime convention I go to and I am missing the ring. Two I bought one ring on amazoan and it ended up being the collectors ring not what I needed. Than I bought a ring from animeshop101 in September which I have yet to recieve.
