I've been watching anime off and on since the days of VHS (those large cassette-like things to the younger crowd) and it's nice to see DVD series increase in availability. You can say I "recently" returned, but that's only part of it.

Taking advantage of a recent sale, I've quite a few titles to watch. As you probably can tell from my username and avatar, I found one I like. :)

I'm a fast typist, which leads me to being a bit verbose at times. If this gets annoying, feel free to let me know.

I'm currently self teaching myself Japanese, so this should be an interesting summer. For those doing the same, my PM box is open. Just started Kana, so I'm no expert. Consider me at level 0.

I like manga and playing games but I'm not really a fullscale otaku since I don't do everyday (It wouldn't feel so fun if it became a routine). I also have other hobbies like playing guitar or drawing.

Hello everyone! My name is Kyle (as you might be able to tell from my username, heh) and I'm 18.

I'm not the biggest otaku around really; I've just recently have started to realize and accept my love for anime and manga. It probably started the same way a lot of children from the 90's found anime- the wondrous Toonami. I realize now that I was watching watered down and edited to the bone versions of the anime, but I was contempt with it at the time. My interest for anime wavered over the years after my days of watching Toonami ended, but now I have found myself at a point where I know I thoroughly enjoy it.

Nowadays I watch/read and have watched/read anime/manga such as Eureka Seven, Bleach, Reborn!, Death Note, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Kuroshitsuji and Hellsing.

My hobbies include writing, video games and building/using computers. The most important to me among these is writing. It has become a recent activity of mine, and quite a joyous one as well. It has got me though a lot of bad times, and it tends to be a good way for me to express my feeling, and I'm not so good at that kind of thing verbally.

Anyway, I better end this long winded introduction before it becomes mundane and monotonous. I hope to meet some cool people here, improve my "literacy" of anime/manga and become a stronger otaku in general.

Hey everyone. I've spent quite some time trying to find a cozy anime community, and it looks like I've found what I wanted ;)

I haven't been an anime addict for long (in fact, I'm not quite sure I qualify for the otaku title), since '07 in fact.

My personal favourites would be FLCL, Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the Shell, the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Full Metal Panic, Love Hina, Planetes, Cowboy Bebop, REC, Elfen Lied, Code Geass, Kino no Tabi, Haibane Renmei, Gurren Lagann, InuYasha, Genshiken (in no particular order, since each has its own unique qualities - these are just the top favs). I do enjoy the occasional cute comic nonsense (like Umishou).
I dislike annoying characters (those without common sense and any redeeming qualities) and I have a general mistrust of long-running series (Inuyasha being the only one I've watched) and extremely popular series (I've been awfully disappointed a couple of times... Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note, I'm lookin' at you).

Apart from watching anime, I play tabletop RPGs (and wargames), as well as lots of video games. I also enjoy learning languages (nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment when you're able to understand and communicate), and yes, Japanese is proving to be a really fun challenge (it's only my second year though).

I hope that I'll be able to stay and contribute to this fine community.

anime aside, i'm into photography, baking, & napping. a lot of napping. i'm actually about to take a nap right now. :3

I am a freshman in college majoring in Business Economics and International Studies. But... if I could have ten majors I would probably do so. I am teaching myself Korean while trying to retain the Japanese I learned in high school. >_< Besides from economics, international studies, and foreign language, I LOVE mathematics and chemistry (but not organic chemistry).

At one point, I used to be rather obsessed with things like anime. These days, I rarely watch or read anything, to be honest. However, I do find time for a few series every now and then. I am currently reading/watching 07-Ghost and Rozen Maiden. I also like Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Gintama, and Zombie Loan.

Besides from anime and studying, my hobbies include photography, drawing, Korean drumming, and watching professional Starcraft.
