Safe place

Being in the same room as the women I'm in love with, or just my computer. Even if someone could sneak up on me, or my house was burning, i would never leave my computer! It has all my precious things on it!

a safe place...hmmmmmm.... *thinks very hard* ah-ha! got it! Jay's bed :D No seriously, whenever I feel like the worlds getting on top of me I just snuggle down under the covers and everythings nice and dark and warm and there's his music playing in the background while he's playing on the PC so there's this steady relaxing clicks of keys and often I fall asleep for about an hour  heehee

I feel safest--most at home--what-have-you....

At my grandparents' farm. Windswept Acres.

I love the name of the place almost as much as I love the place itself. [It's not one of those silly subdivision names, when you end up with places called Hidden Creek when there's no such thing for miles, or Great Oak Bluff where there are neither oaks nor bluffs... ]Windswept, it certainly is.

And it's beautiful. I truly love it there. When we go to visit [it's only about half an hour away from where I live, but oh-so-much better] I have free range of the entire place, and the neighboring fields, as well.

There are wild raspberry bushes along the fencelines, and apple and pear trees here and there, and mulberrys and nuts back by the pond.

Sometimes I'll just go running, just for the pure joy of it. Over the river and through the woods....

Or I 'll go lie down in the grass by the apple trees at the back of the field. There's a dirt road that goes by there, and once I was cloud-watching when a car stopped, and someone got out, because they had seen me just lying there. Said they thought I was hurt, or dead, or something. I laughed and sent them on their way to the strawberry farm. [It's just across the dirt road. When I was little, my grandmother used to take me over there, we'd walk throght the field over to the strawberry farm and pick strawberries for a few hours in the afternoon. I'd eat more than I put in my basket, they were just so delicious!]

Or in late summer, when the corn is dizzingly tall, my cousins and sister and brother and I would play hide and seek and tag in the fields. Or in the winter, the pond freeses solid--straight through!--and we'll play tag or shove each other about on it. None of us actually have ice skates, but it's great fun.

When I was very small, I'd go exploring in the barn. The place used to be a dairy farm, there's this huge old white barn, with a milkhouse attached. And there used to be four or five sheds just filled to the brim with all sorts of interesting things. [Three of them have since been blown apart in windstorms:(] Technically, no one had ever said I wasn't allowed in the sheds by myself...it was just one of those feelings that you get sometimes...I should not be here.

Or I'd play with the kittens that lived beneath the front deck. Of course, they were different kittens each spring and fall. Each litter, I'd get to name one of them. And of courtse there was Granny Cat, she was ancient, at least to me. The sweetest, friendliest cat you'd ever care to meet. She could put up with anything--all five of us grandkids fighting over her and pulling tails and danging twigs and whatnot in front of her. She didn't have any ears, she lost them to frostbite, but she was just the most wonderful creature!

Another animal I dearly loved at the Farm was old Trapper. He was this huge, loveable yellow mutt of a dog. I'd guess he was maybe eight years older than me? He was eighteen or older when he died. [When i was very little....two-ish....he bit me in the forehead, took a nice chunk out of my face. I still have the scars.]

And there are so many more thngs i could rant on about concerning the Farm and why I love it and feel safe there, but I doubt any of you actually muddled through the whole of this post, anyway. ;) :p

Well, if I had a boyfriend at the moment, I'd definitely say that's where I'd want to spend most of my time and feel safe.

But for now--sans boyfriend--I don't really have a place that I like going and spending my time. During the summer I like being out in my back yard with my camera...that makes me happy.

For now...I'd have to say my car. That's the only place I feel I have control over something in my life :)

(Which reminds me...I rear-ended someone today at school ...I really didn't mean to...I wasn't paying attention. I feel so stupid...over a year and a half of driving, and that is the FIRST time that my car has touched another car unintentionally...poo...I suck :(

Hey...I'm a good driver :p

Sure I've had a few incidents where I've bumped my friends' cars at stop signs and such...but that was all in good fun...honest!

My safe place is deffinitely at home. I have my family, my computer, anime, and manga. All I could ask for! But seriously, I enjoy being home even more than going out with my friends. ^^; No one makes fun of here, at least! And I have my beatutiful anime.....heh^^

Unintentional....bah! You know you hit that car intentionally, you snuck up on it nice and quite, just idleing your engine, and then, all of a sudden, WHAM!!! Your car pounced on the unsuspecting vehicle, your car ripping the back of the unsuspecting vehicle like a rapid tiger...I think I wen't over board with the "rabid tiger" thingy I mean a tiger is vicious enough, I don't think I had to make it rabid...

Well anyways I like to go to the ocean during fall and winter, I can sit and listen to the waves crash and have the whole beach to myself...that is where I feel safest...during the summer I just lock myself in my room with a guitar, the beach is too crowded...

A safe place...where's my safe place? I know one thing...it sure ain't at home!!!! I guess my safe place is sleeping. I know it's not a place but it's somewhere that I feel safe at!!! Besides, I wish a bugular would come into my room. Or rather my mom. I sleep with a AK-47 under my pillow, so come on in if you want to be my target for shooting!!!

I snorted out loud when I read this, and then started to laugh at myself. Then I looked like a loser, since I read it during school, and I was sitting at the computer all by myself...laughing like an idiot :drunk:.

Your semi-personification is hilarious, by the way ;)
