I just got my new Nintendo Power and guess who is on the cover. Sonic, so I flipped threw and started reading the game review for it and I have to say that game looks pretty spiffy. It said that it was comming out in March but it didn't give a day. Does anyone know when it is supposed to come out then?

The Sonic games for both GameCube and Game Boy Advance have already been released here in the United States, so you must either be talking about a different game, or you live somewhere else. What is this Sonic game called, and what system is it for?

The Sonic game is Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. For the GameCube. In my nintendo power it says that it is being released March.
It came out in the usa at the beginning of this month, so this is old news. If you have Dreamcast, then don't get it. You can get practically the same thing for Dreamcast, but it costs less. The only difference is that there are a few more 2 player modes on GameCube, and you can raise your chao with a specail extension cord on your Game Boy Advance.

Blech, I can't stand Sonic Adventure 2. Hunting for green gems is so tedious and boring, it's unbelievable. The Sonic/Shadow and Tails/Robotnik levels aren't anything special either. Don't get me wrong, it's an adequate game, but not up to the standards that I would expect from a Sonic game. Everything just seems so....shallow.

It's not SA2, its Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, and it looks pretty cool. Check it out on www.nintendo.com

I am dissappointed.

It annoys me that they included the various Robotnik/Tails and Knuckles/Rouge levels.

They sucked. They beyond sucked...they were terrible/awful/horrible/disgusting/poor/gross/feeble/inadequate.

The sonic/shadow levels, however, were fantastic.

The ENTIRE game should have been more like that: more like the old Sonic games...but in 3D. I would have been much happier with that. :)

 Dude, it's the same exact thing but with a few new multiplayer options.

And new levels, new multiplayer options/features as well as an all-new GBA-compatible link mode with several mini-games and downloadable events. :p

I'd call it a "Sonic Adventure 2 Expansion Pack" hehe...

I think all the Knuckles/Rouge and Tails/Robotnik wasn't nescessary to be in SA2,digging for Emeralds was pretty dough and pointless.

Wearing a big suit and blasting fireballs against enemies was, all out the same thing in a different stage environment.Pretty boring if you ask me.

Like James said the game should have been a 3-D World of the classic old games and the Sonic/Shadow proved it by all the running around in loops, collecting rings, destroying enemies with their spikey body, etc.

Here is Electronic Gaming Monthly's explanation of the game, in it's 150th issue:

"For the first time in history, Sonic makes his way to another company's home console. (He's been on a few different handhelds.) The GC version of Sonic Adventure 2 will be largely the same as the Dreamcast game, but the little blue blur does have a few new tricks up his sleeve. The most notable is the ability to download your chaos - the little creatures you can raise in Sonic's world - to your Game Boy Advance for on-the-go nurturing. Otherwise you'll find a few new multiplayer modes in SA2 Battle, including even more racing levels for Sonic and Shadow, and even smoother-running gameplay."

This is the most recognized form to show you that Sega and Nintendo are no longer rivals, but mere partners in the current gaming console race. And with Sega's main character on a next-generation system alongside Mario, the possibilities are endless.

Even though Sega has not released a whole new Sonic game for a different system, this is defenetly a start. If you have both GameCube and Game Boy Advance, then this is the game for you, providing that you buy the Sonic Advance game. For those of you who don't mind petty differences and already own a Dreamcast, then I would recommend Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast, which costs less anyway.

In addition to Sonic, many other games are being released by Sega for each new system, including the long-awaited Virtua Fighter 4 which is due for Playstation 2 this coming March.

Well SA2: Battle is just basically the same game minor improvements and extra multiplayer levels. If I'm not mistaken this version even gives you the secret characters without going through the fuss of the DC process.

I personally own the DC and will stick with that version instead of dishing out more money that could be spent on something thats "really" new!

Even if I had a Dreamcast, and if I was going to buy SA2 or SA2: Battle, I'd get SA2: Battle just so I could use the GCN controller. The Dreamcast controller seems a bit big to me... But then again, the N64 controller seems a little bit to big to me, also... the GCN controller has them all beat, though. ;)
