Transtic Nerve
Ok, I have this problem.... well actually my friend has this problem... I don't cross dress... I MIGHT if I wanted to, but I don't really want to so I won't... but one of my gay friends does occationally... Now here's what happened... The other day, Thursday I think, he went to school in a skirt, high heels, make up, wig, and fake breasts. As he was in second period he got called up to the principles office and was ordered to take off his clothes or be suspended... well not strip.. but to remove his make up, wig, high heels and fake breasts. His principle gave him a referal anyway.... Also before this day, his principle had told him he could not attend prom in a dress. Now, the clothes he was wearing that day did NOT break any dress code violation. Nor did it disrupt th class room in anyway.... he was wearing clothes, not being naked... The principle also said the reason to why he gave him the referal was because... and I quote: "Guys should dress like they own a bank and girls should dress like they work in a bank"... Now I dunno about you but that... that is the apitimy of sexism... So what are your thoughts? He's already called the local news stations and he has an interview with one on friday so far... this could turn into big news and I hope it does... I hope this a-hole of a principle gets fired... and that this will lead to less discrimination among faculty and students and between students on such issues as race, gender, sexual orientation or whatever you decide to wear... I am almost outraged at this, if I did go to this school I would give the principle a peice of my gay mind.... however I don't and my friend has gone through so much... he used to go to my old HS, but then he transfered after an incident with posters of him being posted around school saying he was gay after some girl found out and was crushed... I feel really bad but he's strong... but this is just stupid... and i hope that guy gets whats coming to him...
James
I agree...the principal is acting like a total jerk. Good luck to your friend...I hope he can get his story noticed on a broader level. :)
Fall
Hhe, our principle was that way.... he offended alot of people, and said alot of things that upset people.... I guess that's why he left...
Delian
That's definitely discrimination and, coming from a principal, I find it absolutely disgusting. They should be supportive to all students, regardless of there preferences and your friend wasn't hurting anyone. If this pathetic excuse of a principal isn't fired, there is no justice.
Sephiroth
man, that sucks, I hope your principal gets whats coming to him, like james already said.... there seems to be a big homosexuality problem at my university, everyone seems to be afraid of gay people, which I think is just plain wrong, so to piss other people off, I go and hang around with them, they're much more interesting than those who fear them, they're better friends too, heck, a lot of people at university act like kids saying, oh this is gay, thats gay, your gay for looking at those gays, blah blah blah, its just damn irritating, and now they're talking about me, saying how I can be hanging around with gays if I'm married, and I had a good argument with a few people around it, saying.... "what? so because I hang around with gay people, does that make me any different? does that mean I'm becoming gay myself? and why do you fear gay people? its all just sexual preference, they're not going to pull your pants down and **** you if you get near them, if someone isn't gay, then they're not going to try anything with them, and by that I mean flirt, or ask them out, whatever, I just think you guys are being azzholes for having a totally different opinion on someone just because of their sexual preference" so, yeah, I was in a bad mood that day, and just let out both barrel's when I heard them say that crap about me, and about your friend cross dressing, tn, I personally don't see any problem with it, people wear clothes to express themselves, and to take that priviledge away from them is stupid.... bah, in a bad mood today again, I think I'll shut up now.... James
I agree 100% with Sephiroth. It's a shame more people don't think that way. When you seriously consider the way some people talk...and the justifications they use for bashing gay people, you realize how foolish and pathetic it really is. And that there isn't any point to it...it doesn't achieve anything...all it does is make people angry and make more problems than solutions.
mornigndew
About your friend cross-dressing, it's probably new and people not get used to the new image. Honestly, if I see someone dressed like that, I would think it's weird. The principle is a bit harsh on your friend. I hope his story can make it to the new (national) so people can have their view.

Dan L
I'll be brief with this... the principle's view is very bad.. but unfortunately is shared by many (do NOT take this as a way of saying 'I agree with him, cos I don't ;)).. not that that makes it better, it just makes the world as a whole worse.. I'd say more, but I'd just be repeating both these and other peoples' words..

Guest ssjsupreme
I also have a problem some what like your's but mine is not dealing with a persons sexual prefrence. mine has to do with the way people dress. not cross-dressing, but, all black, goth-style clothing. I dress in those"dorky, uncool, baggy black pants, and a black hoodie. now, just the other day, this kid, a freshman no less,(and i mean no offense to all the freshman out there, it's just the thing that, upper-classmen don't need to, and won't put up with freshmen telling me what i can and can't do, and when i can do it) says to me,"hey, ***! why do you and your dumb Arse friends, go to the mall, and pick out some better clothes!?"now, you know the froshes that were"cool" through elementary and middle school, think they're still cool and are able to say anything they want to anybody? thaty is what they were like. then out of no where, some one says to my girlfriend, "and tell your whor# of a girl to put onsome make-up!" that just put me over the edge. i didn't just sit there, and, "take it like a man". i came out swinging:blackeye: . the principal broke up the fight, and right away slaped a saturday detention on me, and a fine for fighting. before i had a chance to explain. then, he took the freshmen to his office, and explained to him that what he did was wrong and say he was sorry.that was all he got. This is the first fight i have ever got in to in highschool, and i got a fine and a saturday detention. it's like i got beat with a bamboo stick, and he got a soft slap on the back of his hand. and i would not doubt for an instant that it was because i was a goth, and he fell into the gap. it's pathetic. anyway, i'm glad your friend is seeking justice in a unfair world, and i hope he suceeds
lyca_lightwing
And we wonder why our world is in such a state when ignorant small minded people like that are at the top levels of our institutions!?! I hope your friend gets as much publicity as he can and that the principal gets what he deserves. On a side note, no fuss was made when a female friend of mine went to the prom in a suit. And the day I dress "like I work in a bank" will be the day hell freezes over. :flaming:
Char!
FORTUNATELY I GO TO A SCHOOL WHERE ONE DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DISCRIMINATION OF ANY KIND, AND WHERE PEOPLE WEAR THE WIDEST VARIETIES OF CLOTHES... THAT'S WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT. AS FOR THAT IDIOT PRINCIPAL, HE NEEDS TO GET FIRED, OR KNEED, OR SOMETHING VERY JUSTIFIED...
Chaos
Grrrrr.......... Sexist b*stard! I say hang that so-called principle. Literally. Ok, maybe not. But still. If the parish board or whatever allows for students to wear what they want(grounds permitting), then they should back the Hell off. This **** pisses me off. I mean, if they set themselves up for this(School Boards), then they should accept what the students choose to wear. If someone wants to cross-dress, let them. This is just another case of that Supreme Court trial where kids at this high school were suspended for continuiously wearing these arm bands which had a peace symbol on them, to show their opisiotion to the Vietnam War. The arm bands were just another way of telling their feelings. As is your friend's attire, TN. Just a way to express himself. When things like this happen, I get mad. Me mad=not good. But seriously, I hope this "principle" gets fired. AND he went to the media?! I hope this self-serving bastard gets ran over by a car with spikes on the wheels. This **** just pisses me off. Good luck to you and your friend......... Edit: At our school, we don't have ths problem of cross-dressing; we have uniforms. Heck. It seems to work. Juvinile deaths by murder has gone down by about 10% these past few years. Bah.
