Well I was down at my local retailers and resources to buy anime on Tuesday when the thought popped into my head I wonder if everyone has this much access to anime in their area? So in other words is anime very acessable in your area?

As for my area which is New York, anime is very very easy to find you just have to look in the right places. Mostly you can find it in Chinatown in many of the malls and little stores that are suppose to sell other things but happen to sell anime tapes and dvds for ironcially much cheaper then the prices of some famous retailers.

yeah, anime is pretty accessible in my area, the problem with obtaining oav's though is that they are always dubbed, so I usually have to order my anime from MGM anime warehouse in manchester, or get some anime dvd's from germany, which is usually japanese subtitled in english....

I know how importing your stuff feels like, up until recently I had to order my stuff via online and have it imported just to get certain series on dvd! Luckily though I found a store on tuesday that has these box sets that they sell online for $100 dollars for $37 dollars so thanks to this brand new connection I will be able to get some of the newer anime series and some of the rare ones too!:D

I wish I had easy access to anime stuff... It's not fair. There's only two places in Derby that actually sell anime and the video places that I have looked in don't have anime to rent out. It really sucks. But I can get anime tapes for about 5 pounds, graphic novels at about 11 pounds and comics at about 2 pounds at one of the places in Derby so I'm stocking up on my cash to have an anime blowout maybe this weekend. lol :D

Well, for me it's kinda dumb.

I used to live in Singapore, and there everything was full of anime. You could find everything there, only at that time I wasn't interested in any of it.

Now I live in Greece, and anime stuff is REALLY hard to find here.
There is a lot of Pokémon and Digimon stuff, and thank god there is Dragon Ball Z on TV. But thats about it. No comins or statues...nothing.

Renting Anime in my area is easy. One store has around 50 or so anime ranging from like Trigun and Bastard! to LA Blue Girl and Demon Campus. Now, buying it is a different matter. Doesn't affect me because hard to buy stuff with no money. :(

There is hardly any anime available in my area. The only two places I can buy it at is Suncoast Video and the Virgin Megastore. I don't shop at Suncoast because they make fun of me for buying "little kiddie cartoons" so I am forced to get all of my anime at Virgin. They have a pretty good selection there, but everything is so expensive, I can't afford it. I am slowly building up a good anime collection (about 50+ tapes and DVD's) but I would have more if it was more readily available.

Rick: You spelled "accessible" incorrectly :p

I have a MediPlay store across town from me, and they have a good selection of Anime. Lots of series on DVD, but not many boxsets or anything, and it's pretty expensive. Just the other day I found a whole new section there with anime statues, wall scrolls, and special anime vid games. Nothing good enough to buy, though. I have another book store right by MediaPlay with tons of manga, so I go there for that. I've also got the AnimeNation store about an hour away, but I haven't gotten around to going there yet. Gotta save up some $$ first so I can have an anime shopping spree. ^^

If you want "accesible" anime, I go to Suncoast, Sam Goody and Online. For one thing, I know people who work at Suncoast and Sam Goody, so I got some of the good/illegal for me to get ones. Hehe. That's my only advantage. And yea, I do have to pay full price. Other than that, I have 40 anime DVDs, whihc one day I'm gonna sell.

I've got a lot of places to get it. There's Sam Goody, Hero Town, E-bay, half dot com , and I can watch some for free, because I have a contact who will give me any anime he has for three days for free! He would charge money, but due to the situation he's giving it out in, it's illegal. So far I've gotten: Evangelion, Trigun, and both Bubblegum Crisis series' from him!:D
