woopya
Originally posted by Cibo I think aliens exist. Heck, look at just our solar system...there are 9 planets(I think, or 8, I don't remember) and we have only just scratched the surface of Mars. That leaves 6 more planets to search. Now, think of ALL the solar systems. Better yet, look up at the stars at night. All those stars are suns just like ours. Which would have maybe 8 planets or so orbiting them. Now thats ALOT of planets. And more we can't even see, since space is ever expanding. Now somehwhere on one of those of many planets, there has to be some intillgent life. Gotta go with the odds.
hey i think your totally right, i mean the odds of not finding intelligent life out there that is comparable to ours when there is an almost unlimited amount stars and solar systems just like ours, are almost non-existent. There has to be life out there somewhere, (atleast i hope there is)
Yoda
Originally posted by asar Keep in mind that according to life as WE know it, the basic elements of hydrogen and carbon are neccessities. Take into account that life evolves according to it's environment, and the possibility for life not requiring these things becomes open...
Listen to what I'm saying. Life can not evolve to suit it's environment, if there is no life in the first place. Every livng thing, including the basteria floating about in space, is hydrogen and carbon based. coolkam007
perhaps there are other elements.. ones we dont know of that could make up other types of orginisms.. we as humans only know of what we can measure and test.. life can be just about any size.. there could be an alien race where each being is twice the size of earth.. or there could be a civilization on a quark within an atom.. I'm not saying that they can't be that size, but I think if they we're, scientists would've found 'em by now, if they we're in our Universe..... which in any case they mightn't be... TheGodlyME
If we are the only living beings in the universe, then it's a pretty big waste of space, right?
Dragonballzman
Well, what I wanna know is what do they look like? :whoops: You never know, they may not have millions of arms and legs but acually be just a blob of slime! :whoops: Makes you wonder doesn't it...? D. Dark
Has anybody read "Space Odssey" books by Arthur C. Clarke? If you have read them all, then just think about what happens in it... Alien life doesn't have to be proved by life necesserily...it can be proved by ALIEN objects or writing as well.

Tigervx
well, i mean, isnt it a little crazy to think were the ONLY life in the entire universe? i mean, there has to be at least one other planet with life on it, its just impossible.
coolkam007
well for one fact, theres no possible way they can be exactly like us.. because we have had different pasts.. they my be similar.. but they wouldn't be the same.. they would have to have a planet, moon and sun exactly.. i mean.. EXACTLY like ours.. they would have evolved differently because of their different environment.. so they may have webed finger like extentions and toes.. and have gil like things if their world has alot of water or liquid substance they can s wim in and catch food or get nutrients.. if it was a deasert like planet with little water or another liquid, perhaps they will have flat scalely feet .. hell they may even be lizard like lifeforms.. They may exist but they may be too far away for us to find.. and even if we did find them.. we wouldn't be able to communicate.. because they might not even have a spokin language.. stupid humans would be like.. "They cant speak and they cant defend for themselfs.. lets call this planet africa 2 and take their peoples for slaves.." and history would/will repeat itself.. because "The future is built upon the past and the past returns" - Me
Tigervx
well, i mean, there just have to be aliens:freak:, even if they dont breath air and if they are inferior to us, they're still be out there
Fall
Scientists have found lifeforms from outer space. Just not what we all imagined. They're apparently lifeforms living in an asteroid, which supposedly came from one of the rings circling Saturn. They're about the size of a grain of sand, and can not be seen by the naked eye. Makes you wonder.....

But at least it means THERE IS life out there. And going back to an earlier point by Goddess21, I disagree. There is as much chance of us being the more intelligent life, just like in the point above...
