Sephiroth
there will be 2 versions of PSO released on the gc, the first will be completely offline with no online capabilities, which I see no reason for releasing in the first place, the second one however, will be online, enabling players to team up and play online.... will anyone be buying this game? I sure as hell will, heck, its all I've been playing on my dreamcast since feb last year, and version 2 for the dc just came out last week and thats all I've been playing since....but MGS2 will replace that for a while when I get it this friday on release day :p
Shy
I will definitely be buying the game, but the idea of releasing two different versions of the game puzzles me. It is Phantasy Star ONLINE, but maybe the offline version will be full of extra goodies and take advantage of the four player split screen option. I know I would rather play a game with my friends than just some strangers I have never seen before, but without the online play the game seems pointless. Or maybe it is just me... Guest Solid Snake
Well, this will certainly bring more online players over to the GameCube, for it seems to be very popular on the Dreamcast. Although I personally have never decided to go online, my friends all recommend the game, even a few here, on Otaku. I am just hoping that they won't change it too much...or have I spoken too soon? A Phantasy Star Online that doesn't go online? Well, atleast they are coming out with one that will, a bit later. No, I will not be buying this game, but I can say that you will be in for the ride of your life, if you will, when you get MGS2. :blah:
Fall
I will definately be getting the second one, Phantasy Star Online. I'm not too sure about the first one, maybe I will, just to fill me in on the second one. That way the second one won't get confused....
Desbreko
If you already have it for the Dreamcast, why would you buy it on the GCN, also? It's not going to be that different from the DC version...

Guest Imsirion
That looks sooo cool! Have you seen that special controller you can get for it? (might be only in Japan) It looks like they split a GC controller down the middle and connected each part to both ends of a keyboard. It also plugs into two controller ports.
Yes, they previewed it in Electronic Gaming Monthly, though I cannot recall which one, and it was not only for Japan. I believe that it was kind of pointless to make it shaped like a controller on either side, no one is going to hold it like that. They must have just wanted to make it look individual. When is GameCube planing to go online? :blah: I deleted your other post that was almost exactly the same. I left this one because it had a little more in it. - jcgoudy
shibatku
I knew Version 2 was coming out on the GC since like as soon as it was made public. I didn't, however, know that the first one was coming out thought. Whats it like? I've heard, seen and even checked it out online.(Not gamesystem online) Its looks awsome.
