Fall
If you thinking that you'll regret buying it, you're thinking wrong. You will never regret buying this game, it's worth it's money. If you have played any of the other Metal Gear Solid games and liked them, you'll like this one aswell. :)

Flash
Metal Gear what? Man, give me some of that original stuff... Metal Gear, Snake's Revenge on the NES... Heh heh. But Seriously, MGS is wicked, If you buy it, see if you can get the VR Missions Disc as well, it's well worth it... Playing as the Ninja... Doing the hilarious Mystery mode... and who could forget the photography sessions with Mei Ling and Naomi.. ^.^

Sephiroth
to be quite truthful, I never got to play the vr missions game, I didn't think it was worth buying, being able to play the ninja kind of drew me towards it, but not enough to allow me to buy the game.... Charles
I like the first Metal Gear Solid better than the second. The storyline is brilliant but doesn't get in the way of the game. I'll slap you silly if you don't purchase it, seeing as how it's probably on Sony's Greatest Hits. I know that you could get a copy for twenty bucks easy. Plus, there's a sharper looking pc version for twenty bucks, or if you have a DreamCast, there's a released BleemCast disc that'll allow you to play the PSX version with better graphics. Anyhow, if you're going to play MGS2, then you should play through this game in one form or another. I never played the VR missions either as a protest to Konami not bringing over MG Intregl(sp?). Sephiroth
if I remember my facts straight, which I don't, integral was the name of the japanese version of vr missions, though I think it had a few extra bonuses....

"YOU HAVE TO CHANCE TO SURVIVE MAKE YOUR YAOI" "HOW ARE YAOI GENTLEMEN !!" Whoops, I'm rambling...

Charles
*Stammers and looks around cofusedly* I don't want it either. Not me! I really would have bought it when it came out, but now it's just outdated. Intregal was basically the VR missions, plus the original game with added bonus features(mainly a first person view mode, but sadly no cats). As for cats and Yaoi....I don't even have a clue as to what Yaoi is..:drunk:

SolidSnake2
Yeah, it's a little slow since it only follows after the game. If you played MGS you'd know about VR Missions then. The only good parts are the picture takings, Being Ninja and the mysteries. The last one's pretty cool though.

I'm not trying to criticize you or act like a moderator, but back in version 2 I was looked down upon for bringing back posts just as you are doing now, and I don't want your experience at Otaku to be bad. While I'm here though, I might as well post my response. Yes, the game is good, and I do recommend it, but the sequal is better. If you have a Playstation 2, I would deffinitly advise getting Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty instead of the first. As discussed in MANY previous threads, MGS2 is an amazing action game revolutionary to possible next-generation games down the road. Ah, you probably already made your decision and this doesn't matter. But in case you havn't, please consider my post. :blah:

Obviously, people need to read dates and the thread starter's post before posting themselves. The only reason I didn't delete the post, was because there was a comment referring to the game's lasting appeal. If that werent there, the post would have been gone. I decided against closing the thread because I figured that it might prove useful to keep around so people can discuss the game if they so desire. lol. I guess it was a good move, because I want to address what you said. I really don't think that Metal Gear Solid 2 is any better than its predecessor. While Metal Gear Solid 2 offered a very nice looking visual package, it wasn't really as revolutionary as I had originally hoped. Compared to the first Metal Gear Solid, the storyline was really constipated, boss battles weren't nearly as original and overall the drama became melodrama.
