Starting a band!!!

I'm thinking about starting a band...what shall I do? I'm just a vocalist, I need people...

And advice. How do you think I should go about picking people for a band?

[SIZE=1][color=firebrick]Well for starters, it seems like you're starting off pretty unstable on having a band. If it's just you that you have so far, it's going to make it that much harder to get a band together. Usually you have friends that can play some instruments and you go from there, holding tryouts for those instruments that your band may be lacking. But eh, this might be a bit difficult if you don't know anyone that plays an instrument that you're looking for. So my advice would be to kind of work backwards from what I just said. Don't have people come look for you to start a band. Look for those who are trying to start a band but may need a vocalist... if that makes any sense at all :p[/size][/color]

[color=indigo] Here is a little advice from someone that has been in and and out of various bands. Being a vocalist, make sure you already have several songs (lyrics are fine) written, or at least some ideas for songs in your head. Next, you have to find like minded musicians to play with...always start with drummers, a good drummer is the hardest thing to find. I disagree with Piro on joining an already established band, especially iif you have never been in a band before. Once you have preformed a few times then moving on to an established band may be a good idea. Finally, practice constantly and learn how to play some rhthym guitar or some basic keyboard.
