Tani was checking the straightness of her shafts when she saw out of the corner of her eye that three Gorons were coming towards the gates.

Tani: Hello there!

Mokein: Hello! Are you here for suplies as well, or do you have to go see the Queen?

Tani: Just supplies. I am Tani. Who are you all?

Mokein: I'm Mokein. This is Link, and this is the great Darunia, the Sage of Fire.

Tani: What supplies are you looking for, might I ask?

Mokein: Just the basics, really. I wonder what time it is?

Tani: Dawn should be coming here shortly. Time seems to be going more slowly lately.

Mokein: Really. I guess we'll just have to wait untill the drawbridge lowers.

Tani and Mokein continues to talk as dawn approaches and they all can enter Hyrule Castle Town.

*Claps at James' interpretation of my post* Psychic....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Malon showed the three men upto the guest suite. She opened the door to their room, holding up a lantern, as she beckoned for them to enter. Zain walked in first, followed by Lymous, and then Ralvenar, who was staring about the walls, lost in thought. In the room were 4 beds, and two small windows with elegant silk drapes over them. Ralvenar's wolves followed him in, keeping very near to him, though they seemed very interested in sniffing the floor.

Malon waiting until they were all inside, then she bode them a goodnight and left the room. Lymous leapt into his bed as if it were heaven to him. Zain slowly climbed into his bed and wrapped the blanket around him. Ralvenar stood by his, and just stared at it. The others soon noticed this.

Zain: What's wrong Ralvenar........ something wrong with that bed?

Ralvenar: No........ the bed's fine........

Zain: Well then what's wrong?

Ralvenar: I've........... never slept in a bed before. My wolves always slept on the bed I had at my home........ *this was evident by the wolves climbing merrily onto the bed he was looking at*

Lymous: Woah...... well I'd guess you'd better get used to sleeping in a bed now.

Ralvenar: Yeah...........

Ralvenar unstrapped his quiver and long bow, and layed them on the floor, the he took off his woolen shaul, before undoing the holster of his sword and putting that on the floor aswell. Then he climbed into the bed, and looked blankly at the ceiling until morning.

Rubeine stumbled through some mud into Lon Lon Ranch, it was about 2 o' clock in the morning and the storm was still going on, rain whipped his face and wind howled into his eyes. He suddenly remembered his red potions and he felt around in his belt pouches, they weren't there. They must've fallen out whilst he was battling the Stalchildren.

Rubeine: DAMNNIT!

He thumped the wooden wall hard with his fist, then he stumbled again and fell into some mud. Reluctantly, he got up and shuffled slowly to the nearest door.

Something suddenly made a neigh, and Rubeine turned round quickly. It was obviously a horse, he turned back and saw the distant sillohette of a horse in the pen.

He didn't worry about that for now, he just needed some help. Then he knocked on the door; he waited and there was no answer. He looked at the handle of the door and his hand automatically felt for it and twisted it. As he did that he stumbled again from weakness into the door and he fell onto the floor inside the house.

No-one inside heard him, but he quickly slammed the door and blocked himself from the storm outside. For a while he just stood on the floor, dripping wet and extremely cold. His knees buckled and he sank to the floor. He got up slowly and spied some stairs in front of him and he walked up them, his feet making a splashing noise at every step.

Inside the room upstairs, a man heard these noises and sat up bolt upright. Still he heard the slow "pat, pat, pat" of someone's wet feet. He grabbed his quiver and bow, then slowly moved to the door.

Rubeine got to the top of the stairs, his eyes became blurry and fuzzy and he couldn't see much. He only saw his arm open the door and man with a bow pointed at him before his eyes rolled into his head and he fell unconsious at the man's feet...

Ralvenar lowered his bow, before dropping it in complete disregauard. He picked the man up in his mighty arms, and lay him on the forth bed. The earlier scene had awoken Zain and Lymous. Ralvenar felt the man's brow.....

Zain: What's the problem?

Ralvenar: His back and legs have scratch wounds..... quite deep. He also has a bite mark on his arm, possibly poisoned or infected. Also, it seems he's been running quite a way, he's exhausted.

Lymous: Anything he needs?

Ralvenar: ............... MILK!!! Get a bottle of milk from one of the cows. That should get him healthy....... then all he needs is a good rest.

Mokein, Link, Tani, and Darunia talked for hours. Mokein told Tani about the rocks in Link's Cavern, and how it seemed so much like the other problems Hyrule has been seeing- the flooding rains, and the poisening of the Zora River.

Suddenly, Darunia stood up with a grim look of his face.

Darunia- Mokein! Link! Prepare for battle! Something's coming!

Mokein unsheathed his sword, and Tani withdrew her bow. They all stood there, ready for battle.

Out of no where, a huge hand came up out of the ground and grabbed Tani. Coming up with the hand was a giant skeleton- in other words, an abnormally large Stalchild. It was six times as big as a normal one, and 3 times as big as Darunia, who is not very small himself. Two other giant Stalchildren came up out of the ground near the first. They were just as big.

Darunia- Mokein! Link! Save Tani! I'll take the other two!

Mokein- Ha! You can't take on both of them by yourself! Link, go help him, I can save her!

Mokein sheathed his sword, and drew out a large hammer- the Megaton Hammer- and threw it with all his might at the Stalchild. It hit it's arm, the arm that was holding, and shattered it. Tani feel to the ground, and somehow landed on her feet.

Mokein raced to get his hammer, skillfully dodging many punches from the giant creature. He grabbed his hammer, and took a fighting stance. He stood there for a minute and looked at the monster in the eyes. The monster looked at him with a murderous gleam in his eye.

Mokein charged, and took out the Stalchild's leg. It couldn't compensate it time. It fell over, and fell apart. All that was left was a pile of lifeless bones. Smirking, Mokein turned around...

And was swatted away by one of the other Stalchildren.

After a few minutes, he realized where he was.

Mokein-Nayru help me! I'm in the moat! I'm drowning!

Drops of rain splattered down Jash's face. He put on his face protecter and sat down on hte stump. It was no use making a shelter if the lightining was going to came again, and from the looks of it, it probably would.
'Why is it raining it so much? It's getting pretty annoying...'
'Maybe I should get out of here, into a new land.'
Jash looked around into the endless masses of tall trees. Leaves rustled in the air as a cold wind swept through the air. UNknown to him, he was just in a small part of Hyrule.

A stomping noise could be heard the brown and withering leaves in the ground crunched loudly. Jash looked up to be meeted by his horse, Midnight. He had found him wandering through the forest one night. Surprisingly, the wild horse took a liking to him and remained his companion ever since. Jash raised his hand and patted Midnight's mane. She was jet black all over with deep hazel eyes. His mane and tail stuck just a bit and was ivory white.
''Let's get out of here girl.'' Jash whispered softly into the horse's ear and patted her. Midnight perked up and neighed. Jash smiled softly as he gathered his things and stuffed it all in his large sack. Maybe if he got out of here he would escape the blasted rain. Jash grumbled as he managed to get on his horse only to see his dagger slip out of his sack. Jash scowled and dismounted, leaving a impatient horse. He snatched it up and accidently drew blood from his fingers. Crimson red blood dripped from his hand onto a small dent in the log. Jash looked at his dagger in annoyance. The large dagger reflected his handsome face despite the blood. One crimson eye stared back at him as long thick blonde bangs hanged off of his head covering the other eyes. Other short bangs fell from the cap, barely above his visible eye. A long, black cap that hung off his head sat on his head, held on by a large, baggy strip of cloth connected to the tips of his hat covered his lips, barely hanging from the perfectly rounded nose. The connecting points were pushed back from long, elfin ears. Jash stuffed the dagger into its holder and threw it into the back which was hanging from the horse.

Jash pushed the strip of cloth higher up his nose to protect his head from the rain.
"Sorry Midnight, now lets go!" Jash exclaimed as he hopped onto his large horse.

"SPEED!!!" Jash yelled out into the chilly air, his voice echoing off the dense foilage. Midnight seemed to go slow-motion before going twenty times faster than any regular horse would. Wind whizzed through Jash's long blonde bangs as he laughed in joy. He lowered down and poked his head out foward to go even faster. Trees appeared and dissappered before his eyes as Midnight managed to barely dodge them. Jash and Midnight sped off into the darkness, not knowing the troubles that lay ahead of him.

Jash looked around in amazement. He had never gone this far from the place he called home. Sunlight burst forth from the sky as Jash shielded his eyes quickly. No trees, just endless plains, green grass endlessly swaying in the warm breeze. He was a little hot thoiugh, being used to the shade the trees provided for him before. Midnight had slowed down and was now cantering off into the distance.

Jash swam acroos a stream to get to the other side and cool off. Midnight, prefering to stay on the other side. He incredously looked at his master. How could he bear to swim in water? Midnight for a reason hated water, only going to drink when it was needed. Jash crawled out from the bank and rolled out onto the dry, warm grass. He could get used to this pace, it's just he preferred darker places more. Jash rolled around to get up, but instead fell down a strage hole in the middle of nowhere and landed with a thud. Jash saw strange balls of light floating around and a girl standing right in the middle...

 • 2 weeks later...
Zain nodded and exited the room at the top of the building. He made his way along the old-fashioned hallway toward the landing.

The rustic indoor area was beautiful, it reminded Zain of home. He began making his way downstairs.

On the way down, he began thinking about the events of the last 24 hours. And now here he was, in Lon Lon Ranch, in the middle of the night with what was essentially a group of strangers. He hoped that things would work out.

As he came to the foot of the stairs, he came across a room filled with chickens. There were perhaps twenty or so in the room, eating grains from the floor and clucking cheerfully.

In the corner of the room was an old man with white hair. He was plump looking and fairly short. He was sitting on a small stool and leaning back against the wall. He appeared to be sleeping, despite the sounds coming from the chickens.

Zain made his way through the room of chickens (which was no easy feat, he nearly stepped on one, which prompted it to peck at his leg as punishment) and finally, he was standing infront of the old man.

The old man didn't budge. Zain leant down and shook him gently. And still, the old man didn't budge.

Zain thought to himself for a moment and finally he reached into his pocket and pulled out a very small velvet pouch. He pulled the strings open and reached inside. He then produced a small handful of powder. The powder itself was shimmering in the light -- it appeared to change colour for no apparent reason.

Zain sprinkled the powder over the old man's head. And in a moment, his eyes opened and he began sneezing violently.

???: Gah! What'r you doin'?!

Zain: Sorry, but you're the only one around at the moment. Malon is asleep!

???: Grr...what do ya want?

Zain: I need some milk. A man came here a short time ago and he was severely wounded. We need milk to help him heal more rapidly.

???: Fine. I'll go get some from the back room...but I hope you're prepared to pay!

Zain: Of course.

The old man stood up (with some difficulty) and walked out of the room.

And in a few minutes, he returned with a small bottle of milk.

Zain: Is this it?!

???: Hey hey...we make the best milk in Hyrule! This stuff is worth all the money you pay and more!

Zain: Hmph, alright...how much?

???: 100 Rupees.

Zain: Wha?!

???: I told ya...it's good milk. You young kids expect everything for free...

Zain: Fine. Here you go. What's your name by the way?

Talon: My name's Talon. What's it to ya?

Zain: Calm down...I just wanted to know. You seem a bit crabby in your old age...

Talon: :flaming:

Zain: Heh, thanks for the milk!

Zain took the milk and made his way back toward the stairs. He could hear the man whimpering in pain and mumbling under his breath as he began walking up the staircase...

Drake woke up the next morning, if you could call it that, and looked out the bedroom window. The storm hadn't changed from the previous night at all, and neither had the light. It still seemed just as dark outside as it had when he has stumbling through the trees on his way home.

Getting out of bed, Drake stretches and yawns. He locates his slippers at the foor of the dresser. He steps into them, and then opens one of the dresser drawers. Pulling out a greenish-grey robe, that matches the color of his cloak, he puts it on. Walking out into the livingroom, he yawns again.

Drake: Ahhh! that's just what I needed! A good nights sleep, and now for breakfast!

He walks over to the stove, and starts the fire going again, using the last of the wood he brought in last night. Shortly, the fire is blazing again, and hot enough to cook over.

Drake turns away from the fire, and opens a cupboard in the corner up onb the wall above the stove. He pulls out a large frying pan, which he sets on the stove. Then, looking down at a lower shelf, he starts to rummage among the various foods in the cupboard.

Drake: Pancakes! that's what I need! Big, round, golden, fluffy pancakes! Just the thing for a morning like this!

Tari: Huh? A what like this?

Tari comes flying out from under her blanket on the table. She yawns, and then flies up over Drake.

Drake: Good morning! I was just making breakfast!

Tari: You're certainly in a cheerfull mood today, considering the weather.

Drake: I've got plenty of reason to be happy! We're going exploring today!

Tari: Oh, yeah, the pool...

Drake: You sound like you don't want to go and have a look...

Tari: Well... I've never really liked water that much...

Drake: This coming from someone that can hold their breath 5 times as long as me...

Tari: Just 'cause Fairies can hold their breath for longer than usual, doesn't mean all of us like water...
Note: Okay, so I'm kind of making this up... But hey, how did Navi survive all that time underwater in the Water Temple? Has to be some explanation...

Drake: Maybe if you spent more time in the water, you'd start to like it more! I love swimming, it's so refreshing!

Drake starts mixing up the pancake batter in a large bowl from the cupboard, as he and Tari talk. He sits in his chair, beating in the ingredients together with a large spoon.

Drake: It's not like you have to fear drowning. You get about so fast in the water that I bet you could go from the bottom back up to the top of that pool in 5 seconds... And that looked like a deep pool!

Tari: Hey, what's for breakfast?

Drake: Trying to change the subject? Heheheh, I'm mixing up some pancakes. And I even have some Deku syrup left!

Drake pours the mixed up batter into the frying pan, making three large pancakes. He gets out a spatula and flips the pancakes expertly, as each side cooks. Once they're done, he flips each one into the air, and down onto a plate on the small table. Then, reaching up into the highest shelf in the cupboard, he withdraws a small bottle of Deku syrup and sets it next to the pancakes.

Drake: There! breakfast is served!

They have breakfast while listening to the thunder crash, and the winds howl outside. Inside the house, however, it is very comfortable indeed. The fire has warmed the room nicely, and the smell of pancakes lingers in the air. They give little thought to what lays ahead that day, while they eat. They focus instead on simply finishing the three huge pancakes. By the time all three are gone, they're so full they can hardly move.

Drake: I think... I made... too much...

Tari: Ohhh... I think you're right...

They both stand up and yawn once again. Slowly, Drake walks back towards the bedroom.

Drake: I'm going to go get dressed... Be ready to go in an hour...

Drake gets dressed and dawns his cloak, and starts putting things into his backpack. He pulls out a large box from under his bed.

Drake: Lets see... a few Deku Sticks, Nurs, Bomb Bag, Boomerang, Goron Bracelet, Bottle of Lon Lon Milk, Bottle of plain water, a Bottle of... nothing!

Just then, he sees a couple small spiders scurrying across the fool, out from under the bed.

Drake: A Bottle of nothing no longer!

He scoops up the small spiders in the Bottle, and shoves the cork into the opening.

Drake: Lets see, what else... Oh yes! my Fairy Ocarina! I wouldn't want to forget that, even if it is a bit hard to hear out in the storm. Lets see now... I'll be wearing the Deku Shield, quiver, and Fairy Bow on my back under the backpack... That leaves... my knife!

He pulls out a long utility knife in its sheath, and puts his belt through a loop in the back of the sheath. He then buckles his belt again. He then straps his Bow and quiver to his back, with his Deku Shield over them so that the Bow sticks up just enough to be accessable. He checks his Rupee pouch on his belt, opposite the knife.

Drake: Hmm... I suppose I haven't really needed to buy anything much... Only 35 Rupees left...

He shoulders his pack, and steps out of the bedroom.

Drake: Well, how do I look?

Tari: Like you're going somewhere?

Drake: Oh, you're a big help... Are you ready to go?

Tari: Yeah, I'm ready to go.

Drake: Well then, lets go!

Tari flies back down into the small pocket in Drake's cloak, and he opens the front door. A gust of wind nearly blows Drake over, as he steps out into the storm. He starts off in the direction he went yesterday, retracing his path. Finally, he finds the rope tied to the tree where he left it the other day. He unties it, and starts to climb.

Drake: Oof! this is a lot harder, carrying all this stuff!

Tari: So where are we going then?

Drake: To the pool, of course!

Tari: No, that's not what I meant! I meant after we take another look at the pool, where are we going? We must be going somewhere else, or you wouldn't be carrying all that stuff!

Drake: You're right, I wanted to explore the land back from it, and along this cliff.

After a long struggle, Drake pulls himself over the edge of the cliff. He stand for a bit, panting, and then looks up. And he sees it again, off a ways from the edge of the cliff, that sparkling blue water. He almost runs to its edge, and kneels down by the bank. Again, he peers down into the depths, and notices that the edges drop of very steeply.

And then he notices it again... The calm around close to its surface. The storm around him seems distant, almost like a dream. And he also notices that the surface of the pool is perfectly still this time, not effected in any way by the rain beating down into it.

Drake: Amazing...

Tari: There has to be some magic about this thing...

Drake: Woah! Ah! Oh no!

Drake didn't realize that he was edging ever closer to the waters edge, until finally he slipped on a wet rock. Yelling, he went crashing down into the still water of that deep, sparkling pool, and Tari with him inside his cloak...

A loud crack of thunder woke Zain the next morning.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked forward. He was laying on his right side and infront of him was a small window. The window was more of an open arch with two wooden shutters. One of the shutters had opened due to the fierce wind and was squeaking on its hinges as it swayed back and forth.

Zain could see the heavy rain outside. It was still raining. The wind seemed to have calmed down somewhat, but despite it being morning, the sky was still very dark.

Zain sat up and rubbed his eyes. He looked around him and saw Lymous laying on his bed with his pillow over his head; clearly, Lymous hadn't had much sleep last night.

On the bed next to Lymous was the strange man that had collapsed at their feet the night before. His wounds were patched up and he looked a little better. Though he still looked weak.

Sitting next to him on a small wooden stool was Malon. She had brought a very small bowl of warm water with her, as well as a small towel. She was in the process of dipping the towel in the water, wringing it out and placing it carefully on the man's forehead.

She looked up and saw that Zain had woken.

Malon: Good morning. :)

Zain: Mornin'...

Malon: Did you sleep well?

Zain: Not really...

Malon: Heh, yeah. I don't think any of us did. The horses were scared last night...

Zain: Where's Ralvenar?

Malon: You mean that man with the two wolves?

Zain: Yeah.

Malon: Oh. He was up an hour ago. He's outside, training the dark horse...

Zain: In the rain? Heh, good luck to him.

Malon: I was afraid that his wolves would attack my horses. But they didn't...they just sat together and watched him. Incredible.

Zain: Yeah, Ralvenar is quite a character.

Malon: What are you going to do next?

Zain: Wha?

Malon: Heh, I know you're on some kind of quest. Something important.

Zain: You're more than you seem, aren't you?

Malon: I guess I've had my share of adventure. Or at least, I've seen quite a few things in my time...

Zain: Yeah...when the King of Thieves took over...

Malon: Please don't mention that...I'm sorry, it's just too painful for me. My father suffered...and this ranch suffered greatly.

Zain: Sorry. I understand.

Malon: I suppose you are trying to do something about this weather? It's not normal weather...it's like someone has influenced it somehow.

Zain: Yeah, the Queen sent me a letter about it. In two days time, various tribal leaders and whatnot are going to be having a meeting at Hyrule Castle. We were on our way there, but the storm slowed us down.

Malon: Well, once you have your horses, you'll be able to travel much faster. :)

Zain: Definitely.

Zain began putting on his boots and prearing his weaponry. He looked in his inventory bag to ensure that everything was there.

Malon: You know what the strangest part about this weather is?

Zain: What?

Malon: Well, before it started raining, we'd had a dry spell here. None of our crops were growing. But after the rain started...it didn't help. It's not...normal water. I mean, nothing grew...it's like the water has no effect.

Zain: Maybe the plants are being drowned?

Malon: Well, we had various plants in pots outside. We left them there for a few hours in the rain and then brought them inside the stable. But still, nothing...

Zain: Hopefully if we can get to the bottom of this, your plants will be okay. :)

Malon: Thanks. Once I'm done with this Gerudo man...I'm going to go into town to buy some more food.

Zain: Sure. We have no rush here...we need to get our horses ready and have some lunch, then we'll be on our way.

Malon: I'll be cooking lunch in a few hours. At midday, come to the barnhouse with your friends for the best meal you've ever had. :)

Zain: Heh, thanks. :) I'm going to go check on Ralvenar now...

Zain smiled and stood up with his belongings.

He exited the room and walked down the stairs. He opened the front door of the barn and shielded his face from the rain. He pulled his cloak over his head and began to walk through the mud toward the holding pen...

Tani saw that Mokein had been knocked into the moat. She quickly notched a shaft, and let it glow a bright blue. She launched the Ice Arrow at the Stalchild that had sent Mokein into the moat and it froze solid. When the spell broke, the Stalchild fell to a pile of lifeless bones. She then ran to the moat, and jumped in after Mokein.

Tani: Mokein! Hang on!

She dived under the water, caught hold of Mokein and pulled him to the surface. Mokein coughed up water trying to catch his breath. Tani slowly began to drag them both around the side of the castle town walls to a place where she knew there was a place they could get back up to solid ground. After much a struggle, they finally reached the small platform that let them get back on land.

Tani: Are you alright?

Mokein: *coughing* As alright as I'm going to get.

At that moment, Link and Darunia came around the corner to see if Tani and Mokein had made it. Mokein was still sputtering, and Tani could see the worry on Darunia and Link's faces.

Tani: Don't worry. He'll be fine.

Their looks softened a little, but the worry was still there.

Tani: Let's sit here for a while. Let him catch his breath. But be on guard. Where one enemie is, there are sure to be others.

Tani, Link, and Darunia all stood close to Mokein, on the lookout for more attacks while Mokein recovered. But Tani had a feeling that there would for sure be more, only they wouldn't be as easy to get through as this one....

Zain looked down towards the pen as he approached it. All he could see were the wolves, who sat perfectly still, watching something, Zain couldn't tell what. He continued on, and slowly Ralvenar came into view. He had the wild horse (who was still unsaddled) and was riding him about like the there had never been a problem. Zain ran over to the horse, which Ralvenar stopped when he noticed Zain approaching.

Zain: Nice job........ how did you manage it?

Ralvenar: I just talked to him for a while, calmed him down, and then he learnt to trust me.

Zain: Wow........ I thought you'd be out here injured from him, or in a temper because you couldn't tame him. I never expected such a result as this.

Ralvenar: Heh, if she's have told me the price after I tamed him, I'd be paying the 5-star horse price right now.

Zain: Heh....... you probably would....

Mokein sat there for a while, trying to regain his composure. He had just fell into a body of water. Falling into water means certain death for a Goron. Since they are made of pure rock, they sink very easily.

After a long time, he finally stopped coughing and regained the strength to stand up. He walked over the group and joined them in battle stances.

Mokein- Thank you for saving me, Tani. If it were not for you, I would be dead.

Tani- You're welcome. But sit back down, you're no where near full stragth yet. Let us handle the Stalchildren for now.

Mokein-I'm fine. If those things come back, You'll need my help.

Tani-Hey, those things are a piece, don't you worry about it.

Mokein didn't sit down. He felt something coming- a faint rumbling underneath the earth, only detectable if you were trained to hear it. And whatever it was, it sure wasn't a normal Stalchild- it seemed even bigger than the giants that they fought earlier.

He unsheathed his sword, and prepared for a fight...

Drake plunged down into the cool, clear water. Quickly regaining his senses, he starts to swim up towards the surface again... But something is wrong, he doesn't seem to be moving at all... He strungles to swim faster, and he would indeed have been swimming quite fast, in any normal pool. Still, he wasn't moving at all. Then, much to Drake's surprise and horror, he actually starts to move backwards... And starts to feel a current pulling him down... A current that he cannot see. The water still appeared to be as calm as it had ever been.

Drake: (thinking) I'm going to drown...

Drake starts to get tired, and he starts slipping towards the bottom of the pool faster and faster. Finally, he can't hold his breath any longer, and he starts to faint... The current takes him, and everything goes black... The last thing he remembers is thinking that he's going to die... If he had not been underwater, a single tear would have fallen from his eye...

Drake: (thinking) This is the end... I'm going to die......

Drake suddenly realizes that he's aware of something... He slowly regains consciousness, and realizes that he's laying on his back, on soft, dry ground.

Drake: (thinking) Where am I? Am I dead? ...Is that a voice?

Drake seems to hear a voice, as if far away... As if through a great fog...

????: You're going to be all right! What a relief!
Anyone know where this quote is from? Anyone at all? And it is from a Zelda game... kind of...

Drake slowly opens his eyes... And stares into the eyes of a beautiful, Hylian woman...

Drake: Who... are you?...

????: My name is Zelda... The Queen of Hyrule.

Drake: Huh? ...But... I fell into the pool... I was drowning... Where am I?

Zelda: You're in Hyrule Castle... You're going to be fine. Just relax, don't try to get up yet...

Drake turns his head this way and that, looking around. He is in a large, dirt-floored room, with trees, and bushes, and other plants growing in it. He looks up to the ceiling, and sees a huge stained-glass window, which takes up most of the roof. It is a picture of Link pulling the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, with the three Spiritual Stones around him. It provides light for the trees and plants, but not much is shining through at the moment. The storm is raging on, even here, just the same as in the Lost Woods.

He notices a large, round pool of water next to him. Around it are nine torches, made into three triangles of three torches each, in a triangle around the pool. The torches are providing most of the light around him.

Zelda: Please lie still... I'll go get a doctor...

Zelda stands up from kneeling over Drake, and walks out of the room, via a large archway in front of the pool. He notices that there is a path of bricks leading from the entrance to the edge of the pool.

A couple minutes later, people come and put Drake on a stretcher. They carry him through room after room, until he is finally lifted off the stretcher and onto a bed. Then the people leave and he is left alone for a couple minutes. He looks around this new room, and sees a window of the wall to his left, and a torch off in the corner to his right. A doorway is on the wall to his right, in the middle of the wall. There is a small table at the left side of the bed, and a chair on the right side. A plant off in the left corner of the room. Drake notices that it's a fern from the Lost Woods. This brings a faint smile to his face.

In a couple minutes, Zelda and a doctor walk in through the door. The doctor examines Drake, to make sure there isn't any serious hurt.

Doctor: He'll be fine, he just needs a bit of rest. He should be back on his feet in a few hours.

Zelda: Thank you, doctor.

The doctor leaves, and Zelda sits down in the chair next to the bed.

Zelda: Do you feel well enough to talk for a bit?

Drake: Yes, I'm just a bit tired... Where's my Fairy, Tari?

Zelda: Oh, yes, I had forgotten. Just a moment...

Zelda walks out of the room and comes back in momentarily, with Tari flying by her side. Tari flies down and lands on the bedpost next to the chair, and Zelda sits back down.

Tari: I'm glad to see you're finally awake! You had me worried!

Drake: I'm okay now... Just a bit tired and light-headed...... But how exactly did I get here?

Zelda: You went into a pool in the Lost Woods, you said, correct?

Drake: Yes, it was a very strange pool. The water never seemed to move much, even when I fell in. And the wind seemed to be calm around its surface.

Tari: I knew it wasn't an ordinary pool...

Zelda: Yes, it's not an ordinary pool. It was built around the time Hyrule Castle was rebuilt, after Link defeated Ganon... It's a warp, linked to the pool you saw in that room.

Drake: Like the one Link used to warp to Zora's River?!

Zelda: Yes, like that one.

She smiles, remembering the first time she met Link, in that courtyard in the old Hyrule Castle, while she was watching Ganondorf through a window.

Zelda: But tell me, how did you get down to the bottom of the pool, down to the warp? Do you have a Silver Scale?

Drake: No, I don't. When I fell in, I started getting sucked down, by some invisible current. I remember not being able to hold my breath any longer, and then... And then everything went black, and I woke up here...
Zelda: That's quite alarming... Nothing like this has ever happened before, on either end... Perhaps you were meant to come here, for some reason?

Drake: What do you mean?

Zelda: No doubt you've noticed this strange storm... It's not natural...

Tari: Yeah, it's been keping us stuck indoors almost all the time!

Zelda: Yes, it has indeed. No one likes going out in a storm... But perhaps... perhaps you may play a part in stopping it?

Drake: What?! Me? Is that what you meant when you said that maybe I was meant to come here?

Zelda: Yes, that is indeed what I meant... In two days, there is going to be a meeting of the different people of Hyrule. We are going to discuss this weather, and what may be causing it. I think you should attend it.

Drake: Okay, but I don't know what I could possibly do...

Zelda: I'm sure Link had his doubts, when he first started out... You may yet have a part to play, but only time shall tell...

Drake's eyes are starting to get heavy, and Zelda can tell that he's tired.

Drake: Is Link... here?

Zelda: Yes, Link is in the Castle... But rest now, I can tell you're tired. Sleep, and regain your strength. You may need it...

Zelda gets up from te chair, and exits the room... Drake closes his eyes, and drifts slowly off into a deep, peaceful sleep...

Tani and the others were still standing on guard beside the moat when she began to think.

Tani: *thinking* This is bad. I think that the best thing is to get back where it is safe. *out loud* I think it's best we all go back to Kakariko Village. I really don't think that we can withstand another attack like the last one.

Mokein: I agree. Let's go.

The band quickly made their way to the bridge over to the stairs to Kakariko when the ground faintly started to quake....
