ZeroBlade
Who here played Xenogears? Here's a message for those who haven't played nor heard bout this game: If you like anime and video games, buy this game NOW! It doesn't matter if its new or used, just as long as you have it. This game its really the best RPG that has ever made on the PS1. The game came out like in 1998 as one of those 'silent' games that was released at the time, mainly because of its powerful storyline. Unforunately the game is very rare now-a-days and my friend even tells me the game sold for $700 on eBay once!
SephirothNIN
I love Xenogears....altho FF7 and FF Tactics are still more fun to me, and they just rereleased Xenogears recently so it shouldn't be THAT hard to get a hold of. My friend told me the creators were big Evangaleon fans, and XG has a lot of gears and fighting...but I've never seen Eva so I don't know how accurate that is. Doesn't matter the story and fighting system were completely awesome. Anyway Xenogears is part 5 of the 'xenogears' 6-part saga. Xenosaga, part 1, is coming to the PS2 sometime this...fall I think, maybe xmas, and they're going to release the other parts after that, and when they get to 5 they're going to remake Xenogears =P, mmmmm can't wait. Charles
Originally posted by Zachary is xenosaga a sequel to it?
No, it's not a sequel. Xenosaga: Episode I Der Wille Zur Macht is a loose prequel which is the first of six parts. Although the game is no longer a Square product and will be published by Namco, it is still being headed by Tetsuya Takhashi--the director of Xenogears. Also, it features other key members of the old team. It'll probably be out some time this fall. :toothy:
ZeroBlade
Was rolling around internet just now and found some bad/good news. Xenosaga finally got a release date for the U.S. but it won't come out till the end of March of NEXT YEAR!!! Thats too far away! Why is it that it takes so long for a simple translation to be done and yet we always get the worst end of a deal? I mean, Japan gets stuff first the they have special edition games and such the same day a game is released while we always get it MUCH later and its just a game: no improvements what-so-ever. Man, its things like this that makes me heated that game developers don't notice there are hardcore gamers like us in the States (and around the world) too! :cussing: So much for a good summer :angry2: I just hope the same thing doesn't happen with Megaman Zero and the online games for the PS2.... Charles
I figured that I would merge these two threads because we were talking about Xenosaga in here anyway. The fact of the matter is, that it's so far away that I'm concerned that discussion in a Xenosaga thread would trail off into Xenogears talk at this moment. Basically, it would be much easier to talk about both games right here for now since not many people are familiar with Xenosaga. As for the long wait, I assume that it's due to massive amounts of spoken dialouge and text. Rpgs have a tendency of enjoying very copious translation periods between release in Japan and the States because of how important the process really is. I would rather wait than play a screwed up translation of a good rpg. A messy translation can ruin the best of 'em.
