The PS2 portability?

It seems that Sony has decided to take the same route as they took for PSone, except this time, they won't be making an entirely new model that is just a smaller Playstation 2. Instead, they will make it portable by adding the use of an LCD screen, or game screen. It will attach to the top of the PS2 (when placed horizontally) and it looks the same size as the PSone screen, meaning smaller than the GCN version.

For all that recieve a subscription to Electronic Gaming Monthly, you can find an add for this on page 129, which can probably be found in any gaming magazine. For those who don't recieve a gaming magazine at all, I have yet to find it on the internet. But when I do, I will post it for all to see.

Heh... Pretty cool. But the PSone will still be the market leader in Portable consoles (excluding GBA). PS2 is much bigger and bulkier than a PSone... But hey, it'll be cool anyway to have a PS2-Screen.

Don't forget that the GameCube, too, can become portable with their own LCD screen.

The PSone may be the smaller, but the Playstation 2 will be a lot more fun. It will be a huge imporvement because, for one, PS2 will able to play all the PSone games, the PS2 games, and even watch DVDs. True, the GameCube has the record for the first portable next-generation console, but the Playstation 2 is garanteed the spot for the first portable next-generation console that also plays DVDs. Heh, it will keep that title for a while too, with XBox being way too large.

Ah, here I am talking about home consoles when I seem to have forgotten all about handhelds. You are deffinitly right in stating that the GameBoy series will always have the highest market sales. Affortable, small, and with great games, no doubt, you can't beat that even with trying to make these current systems portable.

Besides being able to be taken easily in a long car trip...PSone isn't really for playing walking around or when waiting for a bus er something like that. But having an LCD for the PS2 saves a lot of trouble from having to convert your car's Navigation LCD and audio system to be able to play the newer games on those boring car rides. lol...

The problem I see with this is the fact that, PSone's LCD screen cost more than the actual system. $199.99!! Now that's just too much in my opinion, for a little screen to play games on. Especially since the PSone costs only $99.99. That's about the cost of a PS2 if you were to buy a PSone, and the LCD screen. Now it may be a worth while purchase if you've got enough cash to spare, and you spend a lot of time in the back/passenger seat of a car. But it's still ridiculous, and if the PS2's LCD screen costs anywhere near as much as that, well people should just stay clear of it. Besides my PS2 cost too much to lug back and forth from the house to a car risking any damages that may happen along the way.
