Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Umm, I don't mean to sound nit picky here, but this thread should be in GA not OL. Well hopefully this will be moved, but since its here I might as well respond to it! I am about as hardcore as you can get, I own 1,564 anime tapes, 36 anime dvds, and seen over 5000 animes during my time. On top of that I have almost every anime soundtrack you can want from CB to DB. If your ever looking for a poster you will definitely find it up on my wall, I collect wall scrolls as well as mangas! I know japanese to top it off, just so I can watch the japanese verison without subtitles and am currently working on writting and reading in Japanese! If that isn't a hardcore Otaku, I don't know what is then!;) ack, after looking at this I realized I am not only an otaku, I am also a nerd! But I nice nerd at that!;)

ZeroBlade
Sorry bout that Hunter........ I didn't think this would go into your neck of the woods since I'm not taking about an anime specificly. Anyways, you remined me of one other thing: I don't have the actual sound tracks of anime but I do have a gigabyte worth of mp3's. I have a music for every mood I'm in from the cool hard rock to Basara's solo guiter hits from Macross 7 ;) I even burned a few CD's to listen to them on the go and I don't understand Japanese! :-)

BlueGender
I am not that big of an Otaku I have just started purchassing anime on tape and DVD but have been a fan of anime since I was 6. I have almost every episode of DBZ on tape (that has been released so far) Have every episode of Tenchi Muyo,Tenchi Unviverse, and Tenchi in Tokyo recorded. I have 6 of the DBZ movies on tape (2 english, 4 imported). I build the Gundam models and have a very large collection of pokemon cards(although I am not a fan of the series on TV anymore). Spikey
:babble:I might not be that hard of a Hardcore Otaku. But DBZ, I know a lot. I get most of my information, watching and reading. I know a lot. I can name every SuperSayain Sayain, and Half Sayain. Oh yeah. I better be quiet. I have seen a lot of the Gundam series, and I know a lot about Gundam. I love well known animé. I also watch Tenchi every chance I get. I don't get to watch it a lot anymore. I used to watch Outlaw Star. But I got bored with it. I love Digimon. I watch it every sunday. Digimon I know a lot about. I used to watch a lot of pokémon. I just mostly watch the movies now. There really cool. That's all I watch and know of. I might read about other animé too.:)
Zero-Altron
I couldn't resist. Well I have about 40+ real tapes and about 10+ one's I just made, O,o. I have 1 anime dvd (endless waltz), countless manga, and too many cards. I have 6 gundam models, and a few toys. I plan on getting some wallscrolls soon. So I would say I am a very mediocre-otaku, but as my collection grows that will change.:ball:
Cibo
Hey rick...at that anime convention I went to earlier in the year...they had a booth with TONS and I mean TONS of anime soundtracks. Too bad I didn't really know any good ones. Got anything to recomend for me to listen to? Something like techno or hard like static x or something like Linkin Park?
Guest Hikaru Ichijyo
Hmmm....Techno is rather hard to come by in animes, however I believe if you try the Serial Experiments of Lain soundtrack you may find some things you like out of that, also try the Macross Plus soundtrack it has a couple of good techno tracks, and I'll post some more later when I go through my collection to see what is good!
amibasuki
heh, well I didn't know you had to have loads of money and merchandise to be a hardcore otaku , but since you put it THAT way, I'm prolly a little under mediocre. I've seen about 30-35 anime, have 2 or 3 series recorded on tape, around 5 VHS and DVD's altogether, 2 wallscrolls, about 15 manga, and a t-shirt. right now I'm working on Inu-Yasha, Marmalade Boy, and trying to find some place where they sell Generator Gawl. and I've been learning Japanese, so I know how to speak a little of it (unlike some posers on here who like to pretend they do, i.e. 'hardcore otaku' who use the word 'animes' :therock: ). my collection is pretty small compared to bunches of ppl, but I'm not doin' too bad, considering I've only just started into anime last year and I don't get alotta $$$. Queen Asuka
Not to sound rude or anything, but just because you have alot of mainstream DBZ and Gundam stuff, does not make you an otaku. You probably have no clue what the heck Inu Yasha or something like that is and the only manga you own is in fact DBZ and Gundam. Same with wallscrolls, T-shirts, action figures, etc. Now I own plenty of Gundam and DBZ stuff myself, but sheesh... Anyways, since I am a VERY poor person, I don't think I really own all that much. But here's what I can think of imagining my room off the top of my head: video wise, I have all of Fushigi Yugi, plus two of the OVAs, Alot of Nadesico, Vampire Princess Miyu, Tenchi Muyo in Love, *racks her brain and fails from mental exhaustion at practice...*, um...Ranma 1/2 videos, a DB tape (only cause I like little ChiChi, and I got it way before that show aired...), I have ALOT of stuff recorded, mostly to entertain my children when I ever have them like Pokemon and Gundam Wing. Then I have alot of taped movies off of the Action Channel and the Sci-Fi channel. I've seen ALOT of anime because I watch whatever I can get my hands on because I have friends who have videos I don't and we just swap. Like Evangelion...oh man, I love that series... Anywho...I have a wallscroll of Washu and Tsunami, a BIG Heero Yuy poster because he's so frickin sexy, and an anime collage on my walls which consists of pictures from shows like Gundam Wing, Ranma 1/2, Evangelion, Nadesico, El Hazard, and some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head. I have action figures, but they are mostly from videogames, like Nina from Tekken, Leon from Resident Evil 2, Quistis from FF8 (it's a BIG doll and she was expensive..), Squall and Rinoa, Misty from Pokemon and LOTS of little Pokemon dollies and stuffed animals because those things are seriously cute as buttons. My PRIZE of my collection...my plushie of Kuro-Neko, the Cat from TRIGUN! I love that thingie so much! I also have the Trigun soundtrack and a little keychain of Millie. I have some other keychains and stuff, like my Sailor Moons and my Washu... And speaking of Sailor Moon, I have almost all of the original episodes of that on tape, plus numerous keychains, dolls, curtains, blankets, pillow cases...etc etc... Yes, I was a Sailor Moonie...:D Anywho, so yeah...and I've READ so many things on anime and borrowed manga from everyone. And videos. And stuff...Okay, I'm shutting up now...Because, I definately do not like to brag about what I have, because I know it's not much. I know I would cry without it though...:nervous: I think it's more on what you know than what you have. That's just my opinion. OH YEAH, and I am a Queen afterall. I have to know these things. :rotflmao:

Queen Asuka
EXACTLY. And that's why I think they people that have alot of stuff shouldn't be so freaking cocky. It's not appealing or attractive and it makes people dislike you. Anna
Me "hardcore"? Heck no, especially in the sense it's been used here. I own two manga and have seen about.... I don't know really, I think around 20 (??) series, collectively. I've only seen Fushigi Yugi all the way through. Sorry but I don't spend my money all on anime, I actually have a life beyond it. Now, that someone finally mentioned it here (I thought Hunter was gonna pick it up...oh well) I wonder if everyone now is rethinking their 'otakuness'.:) Lucky for me, I'm very confidant in my knowledge in non-mainstream anime. (Tekkaman Blade is my speciality;) ) I'm just kicking myself right now for not mentioning people's knowledge in animes earlier. Thanks for bringing it up Asuka!
