eleanor
Has anyone here ever used a walkthrough in one of the Zelda games? I know I NEVER have. Most people I know use walkthroughs they get through the internet to get through all those tricky temples and dungeons, and all that extra stuff. Not only are they spoilers, they well, spoil the game for you! Everyone knows that Zelda has all those mazes and twists and turns that make it hard to finish. Because Zelda is NOT one of those games you can finish overnight. In the end, it kinda spoils it for you because you know you didn't solve it all by ourself. Well, that what I think. I'm proud that I finished without help! ^_^ I sound pretty arrogant, don't I?
zidane11
I'm a hardcore gamer and I don't usually use walkthroughs. The point of the game is to get the satisfaction from knowing that you completed it yourself. I can play a game for hours and days and still not get bored of it. I don't think you sound arrogant at all.
Desbreko
Yeah, I really don't like to use walkthroughs/guides for Zelda games either. The only time I'll use one is if I'm stuck on a boss, and I can't figure out how to hit the dang thing. If I get stuck for a long time, then I'll look up how to hit it, so I can get on with the game. Sure, it's satisfying to figure it out on your own, but I'd rather just get on with the rest of the game; I get more enjoyment out of the exploring, story, and puzzles than fighting bosses. I never have liked bosses of any kind, though, except a few in Ocarina of Time. (Barinade, Valvagia, and Morhpa were fun to fight, but I don't really like any other bosses, at all). This has very really happened, though. If I'm just stuck on a puzzle or I can't beat a boss because it's too hard (this has never happened, I've always really wailed on all the bosses, once I knew how to hit them :D), I wouldn't use a guide or walkthrough. After all, I bought the game so I could solve the puzzles and be able to explore Hyrule, or whatever other land the game happens to be set in, and for the story.
bignatedawg
The only time I've used a walkthrough for a Zelda game is for MM, (because I got the game for X-mas and the strategy guide with it) and I really only used it after I beat the game to get every mask and more heart pieces. Other than that time I don't like to used walkthroughs and strategy guides, some of my friends can't play a game without them, but I would rather beat a game myself. MysticBabe
I have used a walkthrough once. and i totally regret it. i feel stupid for doing it. for those of you thinking about it, DON"T DO IT!!! TRUST ME FROM EXPERIANCE!!!
Dan L
The only time I have ever used a walkthrough, was one time on Soul Reaver, an that was just becuse It was a puzzle which I was stuck on to the point of anger... but I only used the walkthrough for that one puzzle.. turns out I didn't realise you could push certain objects over... but anyway, I think that walkthroughs aren't too bad as long as you don't depend on them to o everything for you... if you just need a little help (and have done for a while) on one puzzle, then it doesn't really ruin the game as such... If I read through a walkthrough or player's guide, or something like that, I usually remember stuff from reading it.
