Omniroth
I would go with windows. There is little produced for the Macintosh anymore. Used to they were used for business, but later became obsolete to Windows and there is almost nothing created for it anymore. Linux is also like Macintosh, rarely used anymore and little is made for it. Your best bet would be with windows. More is made for it, including the most games. (For Mac, there are only a few games. nothing like what Win. has.) Question answered.
Flash
Bah, it's a dern shame... Macs are so much better... But Microsoft, those monopolistic bastards, turn out so much CRAP it's not funny... I dunno about XP, but I know virtually every other Windows OS is crappy... Save Win3.1 >.<
Shy
I used to have a mac, but this was years ago. I think it was called a "performa." Macs are cool, they are much simpler to use than PCs, but the problem is that very little software is compatible with them, or has that changed? I haven't used a mac in about 3 years...
RicoTranzrig
The new OS X is very stable...using UNIX as it's base coding, covered up with the aqua desktop...even though it doesn't have many games for it...it's more of a "professional's" tool for use with graphic design, biotech, and movie/music apps...powerful, but costly. The Harlequin
I've had a mac for years now. You have no idea how glad I was to get a decent computer. If you're going to get a mac, you'l nedd to get an Imac at least. Keep lots of it open for conversion refits. They're a lot better than Windows, but you'll be stuffed finding software. Find a few freeware sites on the net and you're set though.
Guest cloricus
Get a pc, best to get an xp box because linux/unix and macs aren?t mainstream yet or any more in the case of the mac.

Sara
Shy--We still have a Performa. It's maybe eight years old... o_O But I love my iMac. There is considerably less software available for it, but things are getting better. If you're looking for a lot of games or whatnot, a Mac isn't for you, though. In my experience--having only had contact with other computers through school, isn't that ironic--Macs are more reliable. It may just be that I now what I'm doing with them. BlueGender
I would suggest you going with windowas because it is easiest to learn how to use in my opinion. I do not like Mac's I am more of a IBM style PC man myself.

Char!
I have to say that my experiences with Macs have not been pretty. Windows are by far better, at least in my opinion. While we're on the subject of computers, I came across this really old, primitive DOS laptop. It was really weird. Yeah, that's about all I have to say about the DOS... DaRk DrAgOn
Ok, i appreciate all of ya'lls reply's and help. I'm not necessarily looking for games, but a couople of games wouldn't be bad. Well, next time i go to a computer store i'll just have to see what i think about Macs. Thanks a lot for ya'lls help.
MarkM
It dosn't really matter to me. But if you do get a mac get a G4 Cube. I is the bets one by far,yet very costly.

Mitch
My school has Macintosh IMACS and they SUCK, they always run really slow and I just don't like them. If I were you I wouldn't get a Mac at all if uou can get a Windows instead, I just prefer Windows. Also, Linux is pretty nice to (mainly because it is free).
