RPG MegaMan:Battle Network

[Dragonballzman]

[I]The year is 20XX...The world is said to be at peace, but many terrorist groups hack into major systems such as the stock markets every day...Although none of that is of any concern to the kids at ACDC Town...A small place, which hardly gets noticed at all. Although some may think that a place like this would be boring, a new craze has swept through the small town quickly:

[B]NetBattling.[/B]

Dr. Hikari had created a small handheld device, which let people send e-mails, organise their things, but most importantly: The device made small organisms which could fight viruses, and had personalities too! The first Navi he ever made was called MegaMan, and after that, went on to make hundreds more, such as Protoman, Fireman, Gutsman, Roll and many others.

His son, Lan, was the first to ever get a PET ([B]PE[/B]rsonal [B]T[/B]erminal. After that, all the other kids at school, and even some of the adults got Navis.

It wasn't long before the kids started making their Navis fight each other, and Netbattling became a daily step in their lives.

*Note: These are just so you know what they look like, you acually use the chip attacks, instead of a specific chars attack (to make the game more simple).

Also, you can Jack Into the Internet by using your PC, and go into the inside of any other Electrical System with a Jack In Port.

(Oh yeah, after winning a battle, you get...1000Zeni(Z' is money), which you can take to the net shop and buy something with. When the RPG starts I will give more detailed descriptions on all the Chips and shops and stuff...)

(read the post on how to netbattle and basically what goes on. To tell the truth it's a bit like the battles in the Pokémon battles here)

[I]Lan grabbed it, and roller-bladed off to school, with just a few seconds to spare.[/I]

Ms. Killa: SHUT UP! SIT DOWN! JACK INTO THE BLACKBOARD! DO THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

Lan: Alright! MegaMan, JACK IN!!!

[I]Kewl Jacking in effect things[/I]

[I]In a flash, MegaMan, and various other Navis appeared in the blackboard. A few questions popped up, with small panels next to them, and a timer appeared too. The Navis would have their owners call them the answer the the virtual sum that popped up, and the Navi would put it in.[/I]

Lan: Lesse...1344 divided by 56...............24!

[I]In an instant, MM typed some numbers into the board, when suddenly, all of the equipment blew up![/I]

Gutsman: Hwuhhh?

[I]Standing before the Navis were 3 metool viruses...[/I]

MegaMan: ...I guess it's a good thing the teacher taught us how to battle! I'll go first. :smirk:

Roll: Meh. Fine.

[I]Battle begin![/I]

[I]MegaMan darts around his 9 squares of battle space on the left, and after a few seconds, his battle meter fills up, enabling him to pick some chips: Out of the 5, he had 2 rockets, 1 hand grenade, and two health up 10s. He didn't need the health ups, so he got the two rockets, (he could pick two becuase they were the same type of weapon) and blasted two of the mets flying, then finished off the last one with his default MegaBuster![/I]

Zee: Nice job Lan.

THey quickly got back to the boards and finished up their tests.

Ms.Killa: STOOP!!! TIME FOR LUNCH!!

Everbody rushes to the cafetetiria.

[I]Koji sat down at a table and got out his lunch. He had done better on his test than he thought he would.[/I]

Koji: [COLOR=blue]"I can't wait to go home and show dad what I've learned and how well I did. I think this day is beginning to look up."[/COLOR]

[i] The lunch bell rang again, which meant lunch time was over, time for recess.
Suzuki walked outside and ran towards the pond which was located about 25 yards away from the school. The day before he had noticed something shine in the light right when he was running back to school, something he didn't have time to check out.
Looking around he saw what he was looking for, a faint glare from the sun rays showed him what he was after. He picked that something up out of the mud and wiped it off to notice it was made out of pure gold. On the back was a carving of a dragon with a shiny red orb located it the dragon's mouth.
Upon hearing some racket and footsteps behind him the quickly stuffed the medal in his pocket and hid in a nearby bush, cautiously breathing as to not being discovered.
As he had figured the bullies of the school were looking for him. Looking around they figured they still had nothing. Angery that Suzuki had wooped their leader Trevor in a battle four days ago they wanted to pound him.
As quickly as they had come they ran off back to the school to beat up some kids.
Suzuki got out of the bush and took the golden medal out of his pocket, amazed at the detail and work put forth into making it. Slipping it back into his pocket he ran off to his hidden tree house located in a wooden area behind the school, careful not to let the medal fall out of his pocket.

[SIZE=1]Tenco sat down at lunch knowing he had just failed his math test if he failed one more he wold be sent to the less advanced class he sighed and pulled out his lunch. His mom had packed him a Peanut butter an jelly sandwhich along with a Wide Sword chip he slid the Widesword chip into his chip pocket located in his PDA and it was uploaded into his chip collection. He logged into his lapop via his USB cabel and did some training with Iceman. He found a few viruses and begn to fight them off. They were small viruses and would take no time to beat.[/SIZE]

*Real World*
Trevis walked down the halls of the Grandview School, taking in the school's layout as he traveled to what he hoped was the office.

'Aha!' he thought as he found the most official looking door in in the building. Walking in and striding up to the desk, he asked in his ackward Japanese*:

"This is place for registration, yes?" Trevis cursed to himself in English. He REALLY had to brush up on his Japanese.

The secratary peered at him. "Yes. How can I help you?"

"I wish to register as a exchange student. I'm here with my family on...." he frowned as the words left him. "...to help Dr. Hikari's computer work.**" He handed her the stack of completed registration papers confidently, knowing there would be no problems.

The secratary nodded and looked over the papers. "Ah...from America, I see. Very well...all looks in order. Your class will be 5-A, on the second floor. Please hurry, as class will start soon."

Trevis bowed respectfully, gathered up his papers, and walked out of the office, just in time for the class bell to ring, signaling the end of Rest period(Recess).

He made his way through the crowd of students with little difficultly, ending up in room 5-A with time to spare.

Introducing himself, and mostly ignoring the suprised glances and whispers, he sat down in the back and prepared for the class.

Finnally, as he expected, Advanced Virus Removal came around. His father, ever mindful, had set him up with the best in computer courses. 'Really. It's like I've got my whole life planned out.' Trevis thought as he logged on.

"Saffron.EXE! Come to my aid!***" he said in English, as he jacked in, attracting the attention of one keen-eared classmate and his powerful blue Navi.




*I assume that the game's true location is in Japan. This would make sence, especially if you believe in the theory that Megaman.EXE was the precursor of the original Megaman.
Thus, Trevis is an exchange student. Everything's still English, but for story purposes Trevis can communicate only on a relatively limited level. So don't expect him to explain important things well...he's likely to botch them up somehow with his poor control of the language. :smirk:

** In other words, Trevis's dad had teamed up with Dr. Hikari on a networking project of some sort. Trevis couldn't figure out the words. :o

***Saffron's not TRULY Trevis's Navi, and he doesn't 'live' in Trevis's PET. Thus, he's not transmitting Saffron, he's calling Saffron TO him from elsewhere. Hence, "Saffron.EXE! Come to my aid!", not "Saffron.EXE, Transmit!"

The day rolled by, and Lan took another astonishing battle. Ryan, was a newcomer to the school, and had just begun learning about Navis and there use in the modern world.

"Ahh....what a day" Ryan said, while sighing

He walked up to Lan to congradulate him on his performance.

He asked him to sit down with them, and together they had lunch. Ryan was pretty sure he did well on the test, but his biggest challenge was to make some friends.

While eating, Ryan pulled out his new notebook and jacked in, testing out his Navi, Glyde.exe

[SIZE=1]After Iceman defeated the viruses in his computer he decided to go on the internet for some more virus killing. The internet was full of viruses and dangerous for new comers of a PET to go into but Tenco was expierenced so he did it daily. As he jacked in he noticed that his PDA was picking up an abnormally in the internet. As he cruised around the internet he noticed that somehow viruses had been able to penetrate his anti-virus software and were all through his mail. As he began a battle he notice that the virus was very abnormal with a power level of 230.Which was a much more advanced virus then he usually encounterd but he knew with the right stradegy he could take down the virus. As he threw his first attack he noticed the attack only took down half of the power that it was suppose to. The virus was some how protected and he had not gone through training in this kind of situation he knew he should go and get some help but he was to stuborn to do so.[/SIZE]

Zee found Lan at lunch

Zee: Hey Lan over here.

Lan: There you are I was looking for you.

Lan: I want you to meet someone. His name is ryan.

Zee: Him my name is Zee.

Ryan: Ryan. Nice to meet you.

Suddenly Zee's laptop starts to beep.

Zee: Whaaaaaa??

Zee opens up his laptop and jacks in Protoman.

Protoman: Uhhohhh.

Zee: What is it?

Protoman: Its a major virus. I cant fight it by myself. I will need some help.

Zee: Can you guys help me?

Ryan & Lan: Sure.

[Dragonballzman]

Lan: MegaMan and Gate won't be able to fight alongside Protoman, but Ryan and I can both give you the chips of our Navis.

Zee: No problem, some extra chips'd be great.

[I]Lan and Ryan give Zee the chips. "MegaMan" is a 60 damage chip, while "Gate" is an 80.[/I]

Zee: Protoman, give me some time to find you the chips! Give me one turn!

Protoman: Got it.

[I]Until his custom meter filled up, Protoman dashed around his area, dodging the hits of the virus, and when it filled, he ended up being able to choose from 5 extra chips, making 10 in total. In that 10 was "Gate".[/I]

Zee: Yes! Protoman, use "Gate"!

[I]Protoman nodded his head, and activated the chip, sending an image of Gate into the arena and emmiting a blast which did 80 damage to the virus, but still not killing it...[/I]

(Feh. You didn't take the bait, DBZman. 'keen-eared classmate' and 'powerful blue navi' was refering to you...oh well.)

(We need a direction here, DBZman...everyone's off on thier own thing, it's turning into about 6 different stories with the same start!)

(Lastly, let's hack some of the restrictions form the game. WHY must you choose from 5? Surely Zee could pull out whatever chip he felt nessecary. Though particularly powerful ones could be restricted in the number of times it can be used - i.e, A HeroSword or DreamAura(Life Aura) could be used but once, because they're so freaking complex no Navi can handle using them any more than that. Of course, feel free to keep the restrictions for 'story' purposes, or just ignore this if it make no sence =))

*Cyber World - Zee's PET*

Protoman looked at the virus with a careful eye as he zipped out of the way of it's attack. The virus turned around, a yellow blur as it came around for another pass.

'Hmm...looks like the Dash virus...only yellow, with claws, and a much higher anger problem...' he thought to himself. 'I can't strike it if it's coming at me, it's too tough for that. That leaves...'

"Zee. Widesword chip, now." Zee blinked as he looked at the computer screen. "I've got a idea, Zee, I need the chip."

"Umm...right!" Zee pulled out the chip and began uploading.

Zee watched as the virus cam in for another run. Protoman waited patiently as the virus neared him. As the virus came close, Protoman stepped aside, simultaneously bringing the widesword into effect and slashing the virus as it passed. The virus tumbled away, it's programing compromised.

Zee gave a woop. "Finish it, Protoman!" Protoman nodded, and finished the job.

*Cyber World - Internet Mail Control*

Tenco frowned as he watched Iceman fight the virus. He had held out, but it was steadily beginning to wear him down. 'At this rate, I'll run out of usable chips!' he thought angrily, uploading his third Recover 50 into Iceman to restore his lost stability. 'I won't even be ABLE to Recover him soon.'

The virus was BIG he knew, but mostly immobile, almost like a flying fortress. It would be nothing but a big fat target, he knew, but the whole thing was surrounded with this darned violet-black aura, practically nullifying everything he had!

Iceman continued to dance around, dodging the endless beams the virus shot from it's forehead and hands. "Tenco, I hate to be the bearer of bad news..." - Iceman's animation was 'breathing' heavily now - "..but I think we're a bit out-classed!"

"Grr..." Tenco looked at his remaining chips. One Recover 80, a few misc. Ice chips...once those ran out, he'd be stuck in the battle without any healing, and with him unable to severely hurt the virus...

"Iceman.EXE! Recall Sequence. Close internet link." Tenco said, defeated. He watched as Iceman's internet connection was severed, leaving him standing alone and tired inside the PET.

"Iceman...nice work. I'm going to find something to help us beat that thing, even if I need to get a Legendary chip to do it."

"Legendary chip? You mean, like Freeze Bomb!?"

"What else could I mean? If we can't beat that thing with normal chips, we need power. And those chips aren't called Legends for nothing."

The Legendary Chips I speak of are as follows:
[i]Great Red Wave, Freeze Bomb, Change Spark, Gaia Sword, Hero Sword, Meteor Shower, Sanctuary, Dream Aura/Life Aura,[/i] or [i]Rock Buster[/i]. These Chips are gained in thier respective games by hacking. Dream Aura/Life Aura is an exception, but it is also very powerful. Hero Sword is on the list because it's restricted in MMBN2, and freaking strong nonetheless.

With DBZman's permission, I ask that these be restricted, and handed out only with permission from him. I suggest that there be only 1 of any of the above chips, with DreamAura/LifeAura excepted, which has no limit, beyond the difficulty of gaining it.

[I]After the bell rang, everyone trundled home. Everyone had sucsessfully deleted a virus, and were feeling pretty pleased with themselves...Suddenly, Lans PET bleeped.[/I]

MegaMan: Hey, Lan, message from Dex!

[I]Dex was the school hard-***...He thought him and Gutsman could win any battle they had...And even though Lan had beat him countless times, he kept coming back for more...[/I]

Messsage: "Yo, Lan, me an' Guts have got some super kool upgrades! Come round my house! Or R U chicken!? Heh heh heh..."

Lan: He wants a battle...He's got one. :cool:

[I]In a flash, Lan sped on his roller blades to Dexs house, and entered his room. Piles of magazines and clothes lay everywhere, when Lan suddenly noticed Dex in the corner of the room, pounding his PET in frustration...[/I]

Lan: Dex...Uh...I'm here...Let's netbattle!

Dex: ...Fine...

Lan: Whats wrong...?

Dex: ...M-My chips...Some of 'em are gone...And I can't find em. They were in my folder, I swear! I was fighting a virus, it his Gutsman, and the next thing I knew, the chips he was about to use dissappeared!

Lan: Maybe Gutsman has been infected with a virus that deletes chips?

Dex: No way. I just installed PrivateZone, the latest in Virus-finding technology!

Lan: Hmmm...

Dex: So, you wanna battle?

Lan: Well, I'm not sure...I don't want MegaMan to catch the virus...

Dex: Ha! Chicken!!!

Lan: Grrr...Fine! I'll fight you then!

Dex: Let's go!

Lan: MEGAMAN.EXE, TRANSMIT!!!

Dex: GUTSMAN.EXE, TRANSMIT!!!

[I][COLOR=GREEN]MM and GM both appeared in the battle arena, and chose a few chips each. As soon as they were done, GM moved around his side of the arena at a lightning fast pace, causing MM to miss all 3 of his Sword Chips shots, then to get shot by GMs cannon, doing 40 damage![/COLOR][/I]

Dex: Hah! I'm too fast for you!

Lan: Hmmm...I know! MegaMan, I'm sending more chip data, give me one turn!

MM: Gotcha.

[I][COLOR=GREEN]Once again, MM and GM started fighting, GM again, moving about too fast for MM to hit him with his Default MegaBuster (GMs default is punch), not that it would do much damage anyway, although seeing as GM was moving about so much, he didn't stop to attack, giving MM and Lan the time they needed. MMs custom meter filled, and he now had the chance to pick from 10 chips, luckily, one of them being Steal, and the other being a Widesword![/COLOR] Outside of the battle, Lan gave a smirk, confusing Dex as to what he was doing...[/I]

Dex: GutsMan! Be careful! These weaklings are trying to think up a plan!

[I][COLOR=GREEN]Back in the battle, GM laughed, then saw the area around him freeze, and the row of tiles infront of him become Red, which was MMs area for movement! Before he knew it, MM had appeared infront of him, and slashed the widesword doing 80 damage before GM could make a move![/I][/COLOR]

Dex: Heh, good, I'll admit, but nowhere near as good as GutsMan and I!

Lan: Oh just shut up for once! I'm gonna win again like always!

Dex: Hey, I beat you in our first battle!

Lan: Yeah? Well that was then. This is NOW.

[I][COLOR=GREEN]MM jumped back and snickered, knowing that Lans plan to back GM into less area so that he couldn't escape as easily had worked, but GM didn't seem worried at all...[/I]

MM: What's wrong Gutsy? Too scared to show it? :smirk:

GutsMan: Get real, MegaWuss!!!

MM: Blasts and Phsical attacks may break my circuits but words will never delete me! :p

GutsMan: Grrr...DIE!

[I]GM charged forwards, firing his CrossGun Chip, hitting bang on target, leaving MM on only a few life points left...He couldn't take much more before he was deleted...[/I]

MM: Lan! Send more Chip Data! I need a Recover type chip![/COLOR]

Lan: Ok MegaMan, no problem!

Dex: Heh heh heh...No matter how hard you try, as soon as our special chip comes up for selection, we'll delete your puny Mega-freak for sure!

Lan: Yeah right.

[COLOR=green]MegaMan took a few deep breaths, and looked on as GutsMan darted about...He couldn't sense a pattern, so he decided to fire blindly with a Mini-Bomb, which would do 50 damage, hopefully finishing off GutsMan. Bad move.[/COLOR]

Dex: Yes! We've got you now! I was surfing the 'net and it seems someone created a new chip: Reflect. :devil: Too bad your MegaWimp only has 50 health points left...:devil:

Lan: No! MM, don't throw it!

[COLOR=green]MM: Lan! This is our only chance![/COLOR]

Lan: MM I'm ordering you! DO NOT THROW THAT BOMB!

[COLOR=green]MM: Lan! GMs meter is filling up as we speak! This is our only chance!

[I]With that, MM threw the bomb...[/I][/COLOR]

Dex: GutsMan! NOW!!!!!!! :devil:

Morning came and Ryan's exchange family woke him up. He grabbed his PET and darted off for school.

Upon his arrival, the bully Dex and Lan were making abusive comments about each other. He approached Lan with a concern:

"What's wrong, bro?"

Lan replied "Megaman...he's...gone!"

"What do you mean 'gone'?"

"I was in a netbattle yesterday when he suddenly disappeared!"

Ryan's device started to beep. He looked down to see Glyde trying to warn him of something, when he disentagrated instantly..

"WHAT THE !??!?"

The boys were all confused, and angry, not knowing the cause of this random occurance...

[SIZE=1]Tenco woke up at 8:30 to the sound of his PET beeping . This was odd cause Iceman's beeping function was disabled.Tenco was sure that something big was going down in the NET. As he turned on the screen he saw that Iceman was anctious to say something to Tenco but all that came out was "must stop...". Iceman then scattered into a million pieces across the screen those pieces then dispeared slowly. Tenco quickly threw on his cloths,brushed his teeth, and then ran to school. As he arrived he saw that a few other kids were already their which was odd because most of the kids never got to school until 8:50. Tenco was about to go ask the teacher about his problem but then he overheard that Lan,Dex,and Glyde were having the same problem. He approached them and over heard Lan and Dex arguing a bit.[/SIZE]

"Yo guys my PET just...well it disintegrated about 2 minutes ago" and from what I have heard yours did too,something is up" said Tenco

Lei: Mom! I feel much better today! I'm going to school!

Lei got ready and picked up her PET and ran to school.
She found 4 boys talking.

Lei: What's the matter?

Lan: All of our PETs are gone! What about yours?

Lei: Well mine is...(looks at PET) WHERE IS SHE!?!

Lei presses several buttons but to no avail, as Roll is nowhere to be seen.

Mako had to go to school extra early to finish up some tests....

All: What???!!! You still have your PET!

Tenco: I get it! We were all at home while Mako was at school, the virus must have occured while we were at home and Mako was at school.

Lei: Hey your right! But....Um....what I dont understand is why the virus didnt reach the schools mainframe....

Mako: Well....I did have it in the schools Main computer for some simulation training while I was taking my tests, maybe that was why Freezeman wasnt effected.

All: lets go get the teacher right away!

Ryan: Good idea...Mako, seeing as you're the only one of us with a Navi left, you're going to have to help us. If we run into a virus while hacking, you'll need to delete it before we can continue. Think Freezeman's up to it?

[i]Suzuki walkes out of his history class doors towards the main hallway. He looked around and forgot that it was already 4:00 and that everyone was already at their homes. Continuing he noticed a book lying on the hard floor. Picking it up and turning to the first page he reads that the book belongs to Lan. It also read his phone number and address.

It read... Carefully placing the book into his pack he sprinted out of the school and towards Lan's house.
Reaching it no problem Suzuki walked up to the doorstep and rang the doorbell. A nice lady with blue eyes opened the door with a wide smile.[/i]

[b]Lan[/b]: Well me and 5 others at school, well, ours disappeared into thin air and we don't know what happened.

[b]Lan[/b]: We think it has to do with something with us being at our houses.

[b]Suzuki[/b]: I heard that some illegal dealers are letting some of these new programs out on the blackmarket. RINS is what they called it I think. I read something about it on the internet. INS stands for Random Illegal Navi Stealing which is exactly what it does. I don't know so much as if it has to be with where you are, it is just random process. I still have mine because my father makes programs to protect navis. Right now the only one that has had some effect is the NP500. Navi Protector 500 is what I currently have but I am not so sure it can stop the RINS program for much longer if they are trying to steal Airman. That is why me and my father are currently working on a program that is somewhat like NP500 but stronger and more accurate.

[b]Lan[/b]: Come on upstairs. We are trying to break into the schools mainframe to see if something is in there that is messing with our navis. If what you say is correct and what he suspect, someone is using that RINS program from the school. We aren't sure right know but we are trying.
