Unlike dragons, who primary weapon in their breath, drakes rely more on their speed and agility, although they are able to fire a projectile, which differs from the original steady stream. It's been speculated that drakes evolved from the original dragons, dragons that lived in probably mountainous regions, where speed and agility were more important than size, and were they had to be able to kill their prey from long distances. Also, drakes... Alastuin(interrupting): Alright, I get the point. And this is really no time for a lecture. Davien: And why not? Anyway, back to topic... Wait with us, as not to scare him off. [I]After a minute, Kredion and the others appear down the path. The others look immediately scared, but Kredion merely looks nervous. In a cold voice, Davien calls out to him.[/I] Davien: It would seem Kredion, that you have a lot of explaining to do. I recommend you speak quick. [I]Putting on a brave face, Kredion steps forward.[/I] Kredion: I have nothing to hide. Kral Thraxx: Your scent speaks otherwise. Hand it over, or die. Kredion: You think I do not have the power to defeat a mere drake? Pitiful. Davien: Even if you do, could you defeat a drake of Kral Thraxx's power, as well as me? Alastuin: And me. Kredion: I don't see how you have anything to do with - [I]Kredion assumes that whilst he is talking, the others will listen. But Alastuin tires of all the fighting that isn't going on and lunges in, quickly slashing at his chest and pulling back before Kredion has time to withdraw. Kredion stares with shock into her dancing eyes, they tell him that it was only a warning. Before he can move however, he is forced to dive sideways to avoid a rippling ball of fire from the drake. Davien slices at him as he rolls, but Kredion slides away, scissoring Davien's legs out from under him. As Davien lands, he rolls back and comes up in a fighting stance, his twin viper lying on the ground. He and Kredion circle each warily, only to have Kredion suddenly stumble forward as Alastuin attacks him from behind. Davien grabs an oustretched arm and flips him on to the ground. After realising she seems to be in quite a hurry, he breaks into a slow run, only to have her step out from behind a tree and grab him part way down the trail. Instantly halting and regaining his balance, Davien turns to face her.[/I] Davien: So where are we camping? Alastuin: There's clearing just down there. [I]They stroll down and start to set up camp, setting up tents and a fire. Davien rummages around in his pack for a while, but finds nothing particularly edible. He whistles sharply, and Raiett comes flying in.[/I] Davien: Alright, we're hungry, go do something about it. Alastuin: Can that bird really catch us something? Isn't it a little small? Davien: It can lure a bigger beast back here. So, how long do you reckon it will be before Kral Thraxx walks back down that trail with Kredion's head impaled on a claw? Alastuin: Maybe a while. Davien: Well, while we wait, you can explain something to me. Alastuin: What? Davien: Before I started talking to Kral Thraxx, you said something that puzzled me. Remember what it was? Alastuin: No... Davien: I didn't think you would. Allow me to refresh your memory. You said, and I quote "I really really like you". Davien's eyes widen, he jumps up and starts walking around shaking like someone being electrocuted going "AYAYAYAYAYAAYWARKKKK". Then he spins, breathing heavily, his eyes wild. Alastuin starts slightly as he walks towards her. She relaxes however, when he kneels down besides her and cups a hand around her head, drawing her gently towards him. After kissing her rather thoroughly, he sits back and stares at her.[/I] Davien: Unexpected, but definately enjoyable. Alastuin: I'd agree with you there. Why are you staring at me? Davien: Did I ever tell you how incredibly beautiful you are? [I]Alastuin smiles, and kisses him again.[/I] Alastuin: No, you didn't. Davien: Strange, must have slipped my mind.
