He fires not a quarell however, but a bolt with a heavy lead ball. The projectile knocks Kredion out of the air. It's charmed. Masks the clearing, to stop orcs or the like from using it as a gathering point. Amy: Wouldn't it stop good people, too? Alastuin: The "good people" are told where it is. And you don't have to be a scry to see where these things are, the masking effect simply mirrors the forect around it, so if you are looking for masked clearings you just look for patterns. Then the runes fade.[/I] Alastuin: Perhaps we should leave them there anyway. Kral Thraxx: As you wish. [I]Raiett flies down and swoops oer Davien, covering Davien's face with his wings. Kredion: What? Alastuin: If time is a spatial dimention, which it might not be but it would help if it was, then there are then four dimentions in which to observe. Davien: Time, length, width, height? Alastuin: Exactly. If you constrict the dimention of time so much that you cannot scry through it, you simply end up scrying through a different dimention - distance, in this case - through much the same method. Kral Thraxx: But that really doesn't make much logical sense... Alastuin: I know, but it doesn't have to. [I]Alastuin takes a green crystal ball out of her coat pocket the size of a large marble. She sits down and takes out a chalice from her pack and pours water into it, placing the ball into the chalice. Then, whispering a few words in a foriegn language, the chalice glows white and a scene is prjected into the glow. The scene is of a few people standing in a clearing, gathered around a stone cairn. So, that means that you get every in 2 dimensions, which is no help. Alastuin: No, everything comes up normal. Davien: Well, in that case, part of your scrying energy has slipped into each dimsension, which means your ownly partly scrying each one, thus, your scryings are not to be trusted. Alastuin: You can be very annoying you know. Davien: I try. Besides, scrying another dimsension wouldn't work, because scrying looks at possibilities, not certainties. So really, you're scrying what may be out there. How many times have you done this? Alastuin: Well.... Davien: As I thought! If you'll excuse me, oh master scryer, I'll leave you to your work and trust me own scrying. [I]Davien whistles, and Raiett again flies down. Davien asks him to find out how far they have to go, and Raiett flies off. Everything is tightly contained in the theory that as it is only an image, a reflection of what is around us, it only exists as much as what it is an image of does. And Davien exists, so there he is. Kral Thraxx: So any inconsistancies are broken through majick? Alastuin: Yes, but I don't like to admit it. Kredion: Yes, I know why too. Now, certain substances don't reflect light, and some even absorb it. Is that too broken down with magik? Alastuin: Yes. Kral Thraxx: And you have to fine tune the perceptiveness, or you wouldn't get anything at all. Amy: Why not? Kral Thraxx: Simple. The atoms in the air would reflect the beams back immediately. Alastuin: But none of the things you've suggested are happening. So quit complaining. Kral Thraxx: I'm not complaining, I'm coming to a conclusion. You aren't really scrying at all. What your doing is remote view, a different process. You were just taught that it was scrying, and you were taught a different method. So, you've been wasting your time scrying. [I]Alastuin begins tipping the chalice back and forth again, inspecting the landscape around them. Kredion suddenly unsheathes his blade and brings it round in a wide arc directly in line with Alastuins neck. Alastuin watches his movements in the corner of the scrying glass and leans back quickly, pulling at her dagger as she does so and ramming it backwards into the soft flesh surrounding Kredion's knee. He gasps and drops the heavy sword, cursing and pulling out the dagger from his knee. Alastuin struggles to sit up but he grabs her long hair and yanks her head back to his hip, holding her own dagger to her throat and cursing her as a witch and a demon-sorceress. Alastuin closes her eyes and remains perfectly calm and relaxed as Kredion tries in vain to get her to retaliate so he can slit her throat open with the thin blade. Alastuin annoyed, Kredion considering killing her, Amy and Socks... Davien (Interrupted): Kredion thinking of killing Alastuin? Kral Thraxx: Ye... [I]Davien doesn't even hear the drake as he sprints back down the trail. The drake flies along, silently. Reaching the others, Davien runs in, and before Kredion even knows he's there, grabs him by the neck and throws him against a tree. Davien has his weapon point against Kredion's throat before he can recover.[/I] Davien: Perhaps you would like to explain yourself? [I]Davien is momentarily distracted by Krall Thraxx.[/I] Kral Thraxx: This is not good. He had the blade to her throat. Davien: If she dies, I will hang you up by the shoulder blades, and rats will eat you from the inside out. Kredion:I think not. Alastuin: Neither do I. I have some more interesting ideas.
