Mine hatched into a Clefa swell, though most of the time it's hatched into an Elekid.

I think it is random, because I bred 3 different pairs, and they both had a Clefa. Then, I bred them same pairs, and I got Elekid.... :drunk:

No, it's not random. The two Pokémon that you breed will determine what Pokémon hatches from the egg. An easy way to get the Pokémon that you want is to breed a Pokémon with a Ditto. This is because a Ditto isn't male or female, but it's able to breed with either sex, and it can also breed with all other Pokémon, except the Legendary Pokémon, Mew, Mewtwo, and Celebi (you can't breed those with anything, though, to prevent you from getting a bunch of them). Say, for example, you want to get a Pichu; get a Ditto and a Pikachu or Raichu and breed them. After awhile, you'll get an egg that will hatch into a Pichu. So if you want to get the pre-evolutions of Pokémon like Electabuzz, Jigglypuff, and others, just get a Ditto and one of the "adult" Pokémon, breed the two, and you'll get the "baby" Pokémon.

One other thing to note is that when you're breeding two Pokémon, and one of them isn't a Ditto, that the Pokémon that hatches from the egg will be either the same kind as the female Pokémon, or the pre-evolution of the female Pokémon. So if you breed a female Pikachu and a male Electabuzz (I think those two can be bred together), you'd get a Pichu from the egg, because the female Pokémon was a Pikachu, so the egg would hatch into Pikachu's pre-evolution.

Hope this makes sense, and hope it helps, also. :)

Oh... um... okay... ...From Squashed Snail's post, though, it sounded like you were talking about it being random what Pokémon you get from breeding:

So, um, yeah... But that information is still good to know, if anyone doesn't already... Infact, I cought a Ditto and named it "Breeder" LOL.

I think it is pretty much random, though, for the egg that he just gives you.

On my Gold and Sliver, I got Cleffa from the egg, but on Cyrstal, I got Igglybuff. I wish I would have got an Elekid from it though. My team needed some balancing back then.

Well, um... I guess that post wasn't pointless, then... :cross: Well, that information did help me a lot... If anyone else happens to look in this thread, wanting to know about breeding... then I guess he/she will be in luck! :toothy:

I got a Togepi from the egg that he gave me, on my Gold Version. I don't know why, though... At first I figured that it was a Togepi every time, but then I heard that other people were getting different Pokémon from it... And I haven't seen any pattern as to why you get the Pokémon from it that you do, so I figured it just gave you a random pre-evolution Pokémon. If it's not random, and anyone does know why you get the Pokémon you do from it, I'd be interested to know.

Well there really can't be any pattern if you're breeding with a Ditto I don't think.... I mean, Ditto is a pokemon that can breed with any pokemon that's able to breed in the game. Maybe that's random....

I also got a Togepi from the egg I got from the man.... -_-

Eh? You get two eggs? I remember getting one and having it hatch into a Togepi, but I don't remember getting another one, except when I breed two Pokémon...
I think that's what Lady Katana is talking about.... the one you get from breeding. They're the old married couple as far as I know...
