Yukazi
Just something I wanted to state. I read in the bible that before the world ends, every country will have the same currency(Money). Well, now there is a coin called the "Euro" and it is used across Europe. Just one question: Should we worry about this?
goddess21
Why would we have to worry about this? It is just a coin... and it is only being used in Europe! I think it would take a lot for the US to change its current currency.... so I don't think anything will happen for a loooong time!
Transtic Nerve
SHoudl you worry about what some whacko says about the end of the world, which was suppsoed to happen in 2000? The bible is the same way... maybe not "whacko" but still the same sense of it... some book says it's the end of the world, no matter how popular, I find it hard to believe... there's so many "end of the world" theories it's like finding a needle in the haystack on which may be correct, if any. "Jesus" still has yet to return... plus Americans will never change their currency. We are too cocky to do such a thing.
Heaven's Cloud
Yeah, us US citizens are damn set in our ways, we won't even convert to metric b/c we are so friggin lazy... But if the Apocalypse is upon us, I say we should live it up and party like we did back in 1999;)
Justin
I'm not too worried about the end of the world anyway. I mean, so what if some dictator arises and causes a nuclear war and we all die? Ok...that's sort of exaggerating my point, but my point is you've got to live life while you can. I mean...do you really want to live forever anyway? Plus, you can always look at it this way: Every man ultimately dies. But not every man truly lives. Damn...I'm all rambly tonight. -Justin

Def_Kun
The Bible said a lot of signs would appear to symbolize the end of the world. I think it shouldn't be taken so literally like a checklist. Besides I think the Bible was talking about our own doomsday instead of a total world destruction. My own opinion at least.
James
The bible says a million things that never eventuate. As for the whole currency thing...I think it's true that world currencies will merge together a lot more -- it's not exactly rocket science...it's pretty obvious that less currencies = higher efficiency. The world is becoming smaller every day...and currency is just another example of that. The world itself will end in a few hundred million years, when the sun expands to the point where the inhabitants on this planet die. The only other way the Earth could be destroyed before then would be a meteor/comet or something of that nature... But even in that circumstance, you and I are only here in less than the blink of an eye...relative to the Earth's age. So I don't think that you or I have much to worry about, when it comes to these grand premonitions of the end of the planet...you or I are more likely to be killed in a car accident or by a disease or something...
Transtic Nerve
Well... not to scare anyone, although I'm sure it will... There's a commet right now, on a path to earth... HOWEVER, it's judged course is to miss earth, but VERY close.... but even the slightest course change can alter it's path by thousands of miles... Right now, scientist can't see it because it's like behind the sun or something.... I don't remember the exact details to this story... hell I don't even know it's true... this is what my teacher told me like last year.... anyway, it's projected year of passing is 2012... ironically, thats the same year the Mayans predicted the earth would end..... But who knows... I still like that "if you're religious I guess so..."... I'm using that excuse from now on.... "So do you think so and so will win the world series"... "well if you're religious I suppose".... BWAHAHA it's amazing!
Guest GatlingGunMan
Well that's what, 12 countries using Euros? I see the first inklings of terrible thins everyday. If the end of the world is coming, gety on your knees and pray..don't party....anyway... "The Bible says a million things that dont eventuate" oh, not yet they dont. But millions of other things it said do eventuate. We have prophecy about near future occurences that have all been fullfilled in due time. As for the prophecies of end times, the days have not been set, so you cant say that the world wont end like it does according to the Bible. wrist cutter
Well obviously, if the stuff that is said to happen in the Bible hasn't happened by now, it's NEVER going to happen. It's simple deduction really.
James
I think the basic idea has to be that, in reality, there are much more mundane things which threaten our existence. Whether religious or not, there are more pressing concerns facing human beings...things like famine, corruption, intolerance etc... Regardless of how we believe the world will end, I think it's important to focus on the here and now...and how we can make the world a better place in general.
The Harlequin
Personally, I wouldn't be worried about the end of the world. I mean, we probably had it coming to us. Life is really an aberration of space. An unfortunate mixture of chemicals at the right place and time. And lets face it, we've messed this planet up pretty badly. So if the world did end, it would be our fault, and certainly what we deserve.
Fall
Maybe the worl will never end.... I think if the world really was to end, it would've ended long ago. I mean, there's been lots of bad things that's happened so far in this world- Bin Laden, World Wars, etc...- and if the world wasn't supposed to go on, it would've ended by now.... only my opinion... But any way I know that it would take a bit for Australia to change and then you have countries like chain and Japan, who might I add aren?t to happy with America at the moment, any way they want change. Maybe in the near future - note that the bible says heaps and most of it hasn?t happened.
The Vampire: Ed
How many time was the world suppose to end now? Like 20 million? Probably more. I don't worry about it, and if the world was ever going to end well....there is nothing we could do to stop it. So why worry about it? Worrying doesn't help anything. James
The bottom line is, none of us will witness the end of the world, regardless of what theory people subscribe to. We'll all die someday...and hopefully, the majority of us will live to a very old age...and die peacefully, after a long and happy life. But we never know what will be around the next corner. We never know whether there will be an accident...or we'll be in the wrong place at the wrong time... That's why we should make the most of the present. :)

You can surprise yourself if you live with that frame of mind. :)
The Vampire: Ed
Actually, I wouldn't mind dying before my elder years. Those are usually the worst parts in life. Constant aches, and pains from your old joints. Sometimes you can't even control you bowels, so you could very well end up wearing diapers. Ugh...I couldn't live like that. The longest I'd even want to live would probably be in my late 50's or early 60's.
Armadillomon
You know, there are different ways to look at this. If you're religious, you might think that the world/human race will end at the Second Coming or something like that. If you're not religious, you might believe that the world/human race will only end when the sun expands or if Earth is struck by a comet or meteor. It's all in what you believe. Yukazi
Here is just something else, The ice shelf has broken off from the Antartic (sp?) and if it keeps its course and keeps from melting (which it doing a very good job of staying solid) It is heading direct north towards California. Should it collide, there will be a major shockwave...Anyway, the coin thing didnt really worry me, but my parents, friends, and our local church are all worrying about it. So I was just wondering if we all should take it seriously.
