Amphion
Get over it? Yeah we need to get over it. But we have to take precautions. humans have the ability to reason. If someone touches a wasp for the first time and it stings them, they will remember the next time they see that wasp that its is a danger to them. You dont just get over it and let it sting you many more times. Its just like the whole Israeli thing. They have been harrassed long enough, One thing is for sure when they started taking it to the palestinians instead of doing the PC thing, The bombings stopped. As soon as they started pulling out they started back. but thats anoher thing. James I am curious where do you live? I agrea with you that Bush has not done much but Im still glad it was him who won and not that imbecil, "I invented the internet" Al gore. Anyone who supports Clinton is showing everyone that they think its okay to cheat on your wife, Lie to everyone in the world and conduct unnapropriate "entertainment" when he should have been trying to make our country better. They also beleive in sending our young boys to die in foreign lands where they dont belong. Everyone who supports that kind of man sickens me. And aslo james how do you know what I know and dont know? If you really want to PM me some detailed, factuall info with resources on one thing clinton did for this country. Then I might beleive you. Yeah its bad that a 14 year old son cant see his parents. I was just stating that, as an american it makes me feel safer to know that my country is now actually looking at who comes into this country. As I said before FF I hope they let you in the country.
Okay, that's just stupid and foolish. What does Clinton's personal life have to do with his ability as President? It's an incredibly lame argument, to shrug off someone's political career just because they've cheated on their wife. I hate to tell you, but MANY politicians have done the same -- it's his personal business and has nothing to do with anyone else. It annoys me how people try to take that and make it political when it isn't a political or professional issue.
They also beleive in sending our young boys to die in foreign lands where they dont belong. Everyone who supports that kind of man sickens me.
Once again, a silly comment. You are so much in support of America defending itself, and yet you said just here that people were being sent to lands where they don't belong. Where, exactly, did Clinton send troops that they didn't belong? It's convenient to state something out of context (or to pull a "fact" out of your butt), but unless you're willing to provide specifics, you shouldn't bother.
And aslo james how do you know what I know and dont know? If you really want to PM me some detailed, factuall info with resources on one thing clinton did for this country. Then I might beleive you.
I don't. But you aren't really demonstrating a great deal of knowledge in the area of politics. You want me to provide you with factual data, yet you've provided little in the way of factual information. Perhaps you should read my prior posts. I did not say that I was defending Clinton in a political sense...I frankly don't care what he did as President. That isn't my concern and it's not what I"m talking about. Somehow you've made this into a Bush v Clinton argument when it isn't. I merely said that Bush is being reactive rather than proactive. Had September 11 not occurred, do you really think Bush would have sent troops to Afghanistan? Do you really think that there would be this huge focus on national security? Of course not. Bush is reacting to the disaster in the same way that anyone else would...that's what I'm saying. I'm also saying that you can't possibly blame Clinton for terrorism or for "low national security", because at that point in time, the threat level was not properly known. If it had been known, then the Bush Administration would have been able to prevent September 11. So you see, nothing has really changed here...
Yeah its bad that a 14 year old son cant see his parents. I was just stating that, as an american it makes me feel safer to know that my country is now actually looking at who comes into this country. As I said before FF I hope they let you in the country.
Yeah, it's fine to look at who is coming in...but it's not fine to protect your borders in an abritrary way. You need to be selective...and to deny a fourteen year old boy's entry into the country on numerous occasions is pretty lousy; there is no escaping that fact.

You say that our country is actually looking at who comes in. Well, um they can't be looking too closely judging by what I've read. It seems like they just make excuses and pile them on more excuses. Ravenstorture
Well, if it's easy to get OUT of the us, and you live in NZ, and EVERYONE LOVES new zealand... why doesn't your dad come and visit you for three months? Then you wouldn't have to leave your pc! Or go to an american public school, which happens to be one of my worst nightmares! And everybody will be in NZ, and everybody will be happy, including the US, because that's one potential terrorist (a fourteen year old new zealander at that) out of the way. See, you can't go wrong with this!!!! Until, of course, your father returns to his country and tells everyone what a fantastic time he had, and suddenly EVERYBODY wants to go to NZ, and that INCLUDES all the people from the american public school system, and all the terrorist trainees, and the us government, which includes the us immigration services... and I don't think that NZ deserves that. No, hang on - I don't think the US governmental department of immigration deserves that. And it CERTAINLY wouldn't afford that, what with the $110 dollars they made out visa fees... besides, they are probably far too busy denying visas to spend the time on a holiday.... Fall
All this 'Visa' crap is stupid.... especially if you're only 14 years old.... So you're gonna still go? That's good to hear.... the government shouldn't be able to stop you from going see your dad, just because he lives in another country... especially with an excuse like that... Heaven's Cloud
I just want to point out that those of us who are Americans, need to quit pinning everything on our commonder in cheif, whether it s Clinton, Bush, Reagan, ect...Our country is set up on a system of checks and balances, we need not blame one group for the falicies of a nation or its agencies. Until we are able to reform the economics involved in politics in the US we will be unable to see the full effect of any political leader because they are constantly campaigning. Clinton campaigned more or less for the last two years of his first appointment, it looks like Bush will do the same. Final Flash, I hope you are able to get into the US, and that you are not alienated already. Are country is quite spectacular and despite what many people say, our public school system has some wonderful teachers. I am sure you would learn quite a bit here. Roxie Faye
well, I don't have too much to say about the american government and why it's not letting all these people in, because I'm not too educated in the government and such. however I do know one thing: WHEN THE US GOVERNEMTN WON'T LET A 14 YEAR OLD NZ BOY VISIT HIS FATHER WHO IS A US RESIDENT, THEN THERE'S SOMETHING VERY, VERY, VERY WRONG WITH THE GOVERNMENT. I jsut find it rediculous that the government did that to you! ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN REDICULOUS!!!!! *ahem* sorry for the language, i'm just a bit enraged that this happened. I'm also worried: what if my dad can't get a visa? He's planning on coming ot visit me next summer, and if things keep going the way they are, I don't know what will happen to him. He lives in Thailand. If the US won't even let F_F, from NZ, visit his father, I'm scared that they won't let my dad, from THAILAND visit. me. :(:bawl: :bawl: :(

Heaven's Cloud
Again, I have to correct a couple misconceptions. Every country is viewed through a microscope. The US might get slightly more criticism, but it is only "slightly" more. The reason that us citizens hear so little about other countries is because our media focuses mainly on the US, where as foriegn press (at least foriegn press in democratic countries) tend to stress foriegn policy a good deal more.
