Are you a believer?

I, too, believe in everything. Perhaps I read too much Douglas Adams (RIP), but I am very open minded. It is easy to see how some things could be false accusations, however. Let people believe whatever they want to believe, just don't kill people for not sharing your veiws. Like lost of people do... (in my part of the street, anyway...)

I wonder who came up with the idea of the paranormal in the first place. I thnk it is a concept before our time. Long before our time.

But think about it this way. Humans are naturally curious, which is why questions of "Are we alone" raised. If we weren't curious, these concepts might never have existed until proven.

However, somethings, like religion and paranormals shouldn't be proven or disproven due to human's curiosity, as it might ruin the whole feeling. How would people feel if something like religion, was proved as wrong or right?

We cannot prove if it is right or wrong. We can only believe, and I believe it does exist. There is not enough evidence to back it up, yes, but it would be odd if it weren't. The world would be different...

You all post very good arguments for both sides.
I myself believe the paranormal is real.
One of my very close friends' house is haunted.
I brought some detecting equipment that I "borrowed" from my cousin and set it up in her house on halloween.
I tested that piece of equipment in a bunch of places including my house, my school, and the mall.
It registed correct every time.
When I was at her house the thing was going nuts.
First there were 3 me, her, and her dad.
Then it jumped to 10.
Then to 17.
Then to 23 and so on.
Thats why I believe.

lol, sure, I believe 'em. I believe the army have already got em and they're locked away right now having experiments done on em. I'll bet they've even got a few aliens too. :)

*Note: Yes, I AM telling the truth and not joking. People like us these days don't have a clue whats going on around them...Sorta like MIB...:D

Secondly... If the acid is that strong when you throw up, why doesn't it burn your mouth?
actually, when you do throw up, the acid eat away at your teeth, BUT since people don't NORMALLY throw up all the time, it doesn't do any real serious harm.
if you are bulimic, though, or take pills, and throw up everyday, it does do a lot of damage, and if you keep it up for a while, your teeth WILL rot.

Yeah, but that's just a natural reaction of acid to alkali (the alkali being the Calcium in teeth) and as you said, it only does harm over a long period of time, if you throw up all the time. What I meant was 'if the acid's that strong, why doesn't it burn through your mouth if you throw up just once'.. because that's what people here seem to think can happen in the stomach...

If someone is bulimic, by the time the acid start rotting away their teeth, it would have already done extensive damage to the asophagus (sp?). It's why some people who have bulimia experience heart-burn like pain in their chests and along the digestive track, and mistake it for indigestion and/or heart burn.

I beleive that they can exist, but I don't really care if they do. We all die eventually

Slightly pessimisstic, but true. It would be cool if we didn't die, but one day we get bored of life, see everything. There wou;d be no point in living at that point...

I REALLY do think Aliens exist. Someone, somewhere on these boards said that If you don't believe in Aliens, then you are extremely narrow-minded(I think it was James). My Science teacher said the same thing.

I believe that there are more intelligent life forms than us. There are theories that we were dropped off by an alien species from another planet to see how we would survive.
yesterday, I just watched K-PAX on video for the first time. I was thinking that even though we have so much technology, we aren't so advanced. I mean, back in the 60's when they landed on the moon, people thought by 2002, we'd have people LIVING on the moon. hasn't ahppened yet. We don't really have the most advanced technology as we think.

I never said that I didn't believe in aliens. I just don't believe that they are what humans potray them to be. ( You know, the little green dudes that want to eat our planet.) I believe that there could be intelligent life forms out there, but not the kind I just said above.

No, it wouldn't be cool if we were immortal. Just think, wars would never end. Why? Nobody dies. And if a war isn't won, there's not even temporary peace.
The concept of being immortal would be cool, like communism, but it would never work out the way it should. If you read the rest of my post apart from the first line, you'd see I go on to say it wouldn't be that cool after a while, ok?

;)
