Has anyone watched that special on VH1 about the 100 Greatest One Hit wonders? I think that is hilarious. I can't even think of which one I liked the best or anything. I think they're all hilarious. Like "Play that Funky White Boy", OMG that is hilarious. I always thought that Weezer was going to be a OHW until they came out with "HashPipe", the only good song by them besides "Buddy Holly." What do you guys think?

i remember seeing that. i think calling some people ohw may be true but some times it doesnt mean they were all that bad.
the more complex music is the less likely you are to have it stuck in your head.
ohw are never complex.
god i hate that, and now that i think of it, i hate them all.

Umm.. Well there's that one song by that one guy "I'm too sexy for my shirt" or whatever.. "I'm turning Japanese" is another one. "That thing you do".... Heh, there is/was a band called the One Hit Wonders and they just remade a bunch of songs like that. :p

Well, let me say this: Most of those songs WERE on there. But I just thought of another song that was sort of a one hit wonder type thing...remember that band Monster Magnet and their song "Space Lord"? I know someone has to know what I'm talking about because how many people sing songs that say "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA SPACE LORD MOTHER MOTHER!!!!" So yeah...I don't think they ever released another song...

:therock: I do not know of that Space Monster song.... lol, and I think I'd remember if someone was going around going WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SPACE MONKEY BAKER or whatever. I didn't get to see who the number one one-hit-wonder was, but I'm guessing it was macarena. I remember A-Ha's song Take On Me. I actually liked that song. And Whip It by Devo, ... there were some others I was going to mention but I can't remember them now.

NOPE...The Macerena or however you spell that dumb word was number 1. I'm pretty sure you can look up the entire list at vh1.com or something.

*EDIT* Okay here, I looked it up, and here's the entire top ten.
10. 99 Luftballoons-Nena
9. Rico Suave-Gerardo
8. Take On Me- A-Ha
7. Ice Ice Baby-Vanilla Ice
6. Who Let the Dogs Out- Baha Men
5. Mickey-Toni Basil
4. Too Sexy- Right Said Fred
3. Come On Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners
2. Tainted Love- Soft Cell
1. The Macerena- Los Del Rio

And there you have it. And yes, Baha Men were on here, even in the top ten. But the whole list is on Vh1.com, you just have to click on shows to find it. So yeah...

I'd boo at it too...I never really got into the Macerena, and I thought that the people who did were a bunch of losers. Now we have the stupid ChaCha Slide...which is the most stupid "dance" I've ever witnessed in my life....Music has just been going downhill lately...

Wow, several songs on here have been covered or parodied :drunk:

10. 99 Luftballoons-Nena - Covered by Goldfinger! But renamed 99 Red Ballons. Nena was a German band, and "luft" meant "flying" or something, lol. One of the verses in Golderfinger's 99 Red Balloons is in German! Wowie!
9. Rico Suave-Gerardo - Parodied by "Weird Al" Yankovic. His version was called Taco Grande which is off his Food Album. Neato!
4. Too Sexy- Right Said Fred - Covered by the One Hit Wonders :p
3. Come On Eileen- Dexy's Midnight Runners GO FISH!! This has been covered by the ska band Reel Big Fish. It features the females voice.. don't know who that is though :p
2. Tainted Love- Soft Cell - I think we all know this one...
