Right... well just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you have to be happy. There's aobviously some reason you are upset... something you are either not telling us or not telling yourself. The human mind just doesn't get upset for no reason, unless ofcourse you have some mental abnormality, but even then, thats a reason.

You're still a child, you have nothing to cry about. You don't have to worry about work, making money to live upon, being beat up by some exboyfriend or whatever. ALl you have to worry about is summer... school's getting out and then you have free time the whole summer. Maybe you're going into High School the next year, although being 13 I doubt that... So, either tell yourself the reason you are upset, or tell someone else and they can tell you. Thats the only way to help yourself if it's even remotely serious. The first step in fixing a problem is admitting you have one.

wow, trans, you sound like a guidance counsellor or something.
as for bulmavegeta and your problem.
you should try to remember that youve got a long road ahead.
theres aways time to change.
things will get better some day.
good luck with your prob.
the boards are aways here.

I liked my 13th b-day. I got a membership to the gym, which I had to be 13 for, hence the b-day gift, and that was about it since it was $700.......But I still liked my b-day. When you're 13 it seems much older than 12.....lol. Not sure why....^^

I think you're depressed (I know I'm stating the obvious), that's why your'e feeling so blue.

I felt really depressed one time, but it evaporated as soon as let myself open up to other people (I've never been depressed for a long time).

If you open up to others, it might help the feeling go away.

God that reminds me of my 13th b-day.
After everyone left and my parents were in be I went up to my room and just cried.
Reflecting on it now I realize that I was crying because I didn't want to leave childhood behind.
I'm almost 16 now but I still long for the days when all you had to do for homework was a page of math.
Maybe you just don't want to grow up yet.
I sure as hell wasn't ready for it.

Well, its probably because your not a child, taking more responsibilities... It was like that for me, but it turned out good, for my 13th b-day, I got over 250 dollars, and some other stuff that I don't remember, but my grandma for some odd reason for every holiday for Catholics, gives me $200! :wow: Maybe its because she is rich, I don't know, but whenever I go to Las Vegas, where she lives, we have a great time, my grandpa is really nice too

OOC: MysticBabe, I think you can say Puberty...C'mon now, we are dealing with an older person, but its not one of the younger members on the boards, its a 13 year old, I'm still 13, 3 months until 14....August 24th baby!

What a coincedence... My 13th birthday was last Thursday...

Anyway, just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you have to be happy. It pretty much a coming of age in a way, you've just become a teenager, and now responsibilites are coming in by the bucket full. Give it time...

While I must agree with Transtic on the "you have nothing to worry about" ideas, I also sympathize with you. Being a teenager is no walk in the park, as I KNOW Transtic can also tell you (he should know of all people). Lots of emotions and thoughts swimming about, and the experience just isn't there to back them up. Sometimes, you can logic your way through things but it always doesn't work. You can just ride it out or kill yourself though, and either way isn't really a great option,

I had my thirteenth birthday in Egypt, and I went swimming in an estuary of the Nile river. I nearly got my leg torn off by a crocadile, had my passport stolen and then our felluccha (pron. feluka) sprung a leak and I had to sit on the west bank for half an hour, waiting for another boat to come past and rescue me from the water buffalo. So I didn't even notice that I was suddenly a teenager....

I can relate to that... I was really depressed on my 13th birthday, too... I think it was because I was really worried about my future, about what I'd do with my life, and so on. Part of it I think was the hormones and all that crap going on, but not all of it. (I started getting depressed even before I turned 12, though). I'd like to say that it'll get better soon, but it most likely won't. Infact, life seems to just be sucking more and more, as time goes on, for me... But that's probably not what you wanted to hear, I bet... The way I deal with it, is my hobbies. I play video games, I read, and other stuff (such as this very board). If you don't already have a hobby, find something you like doing. I think my hobbies (especially the video games) have been the only thing that have kept me sane, for the past year or so... If I didn't have something to fill my free time... well, I'm not exactly sure what would become of me...

It's just teenage mood swings, welcome to adolescence...

I wish I could give you comforting news, but I can't. To be blunt, you're gonna be going through stuff like this for about five more years.

Sucks, huh? Fasten your seatbelt...

I didn't really think about "becoming a teenager" that much on my birthday. I was glad it was my birthday, and I was glad I was turning 13. That was about it. I didn't cry or anything, but I still know how you feel. Sometimes you just gotta cry. ^^ I heard it's healthy to have a good cry every now and then. ^^

come to think of it, i don't think i was the happiest person alive either. i think it was boredom. same thing every year, you always have a birthday, you expect it. kinda like winning city championship every year in volleyball. the third year we won it (in a row) i wasn't so surprised. it was, boring, matter of fact. oh well. life is life
