The Unholy Newt
Rogan runs after her too. After a while they decide to wait for the others to turn up. Zaltazar and Enron come running up to them puffing. Rogan: What is it? Enron: Naga's, lots of them Suddenly around the corner comes a big herd (Or whatever) of Naga and they don't look happy Alastuin: Do something Zaltazar! Zaltazar: what? Rogan: Try talking to them!
The Harlequin
Zaltazar looks at the other two, smiling wryly. Zaltazar: I have a better idea. Zaltazar yells something at the nagas, in an oddly submisive tone. The nagas suddenly look very worried and turn and run. Zaltazar: I told them we were slaves to the nagazishni. Which means we will have them after us. Rogan: So what are nagazishni? Zaltazar: Basically they're nagas, but with only two arms. They have an innate command of magic, and very nasty magic. Necromancy, combined with magics that manipulate life force. They tend to carry enchanted crossbows which drain the life from the target upon impact. Very nasty. Then t he dead turn into revenants. Oh, and they're comparitively invisible. They are only semi-corpreal, so physical hits don't hurt them much, on top of being almost impossible to see, especially in this kind of environment. Alastuin: Strange that one race should evolve to be so powerful. Zaltazar: They didn't evolve. They are the result of a cabal of mages, experimenting with some things they shouldn't have. Another reason I can talk to them. There is this cult dedicated to exterminating the nagazishni, and I'm part off it. The nagas don't actually like their masters, and most people agree with them. SO they were happy to take me in for a while once I explained to them what I was up to.The nagazishni taste good though, and I still know a few stew recipes I learnt during my stay... Anyway, you three just follow my lead. With that, Zaltazar sprints silently after the nagas, engaging them from behind, killing two of them quickly, and agian appropriating the weapons. He seems to like them a lot...
The Unholy Newt
Without hesitating, Rogan runs off to join his . . . Aquaintence. He draws his blade in a manner decapitating three Nagas. He then slices open one right down the middle and then turning a braining one in the head with his hilt. He then stabs one in the chest almost certainly in the heart, pulls his blade out and slices diagonally across one of their faces spilling brains and blood everywhere. Alastuin and Enron suprised by this sudden brutality streak, run in and join the melee. After several minutes the cold stone floor is covered with the dead and dying, the smell of blood lingering in the air. Rogan: Well, shall we continue? The Harlequin
Zaltazar: No, we most certainly shan't. Those creatures were reporting to their masters. Which means we don't go that way. Considering how dark it gets, we'd be at a disadvantage to great. Nagas and their ilk can see in the dark though. Thus, we don't go that way. Every dravish city in the world has secret entrances though, in case of attack. Why don't we try to find this ones? Zaltazar leads them off a corrider that runs from one of the branches of the tunnel the nagas went down, the larger one, as dwarvish cities are defended by misdirection as well as manpower.
Ravenstorture
Alastuin catches up with Zaltazar. Alastuin: So, I take it the labyrinth scheme was a bad one? Pity, because I just thought of a way to get through it. I thought it would be fun, anyway.... and another thing. Zaltazar: Hmmm? Alastuin: What do you think is in the centre of the labyrinth?
The Harlequin
Zaltazar: Lots, and lots, and lots of nagazishni. Alastuin: You have this really paranoia about them don't you? Zaltazar: You ever run into one? Alastuin: No... Zaltazar: I thought not. Besides, remember how I'm out to kill them all? If I say I'm afraid of them, and over emphasise how dangerous they are, who ever I am with decides to drag me into a situation where a lot of them are going to die. Basically, I'm manipulating the lot of you, and it's working. Alastuin: But it just lost all effect. Zaltazar: Not at all. Now you'll go out of your way to show that you won't, and end up thinking I'm manipulating you even more, than you won't know what to do. Alastuin: You're very annoying at times. So what is really at the centre of the labyrinth? Zaltazar: How should I know? I'm moderately interested though. The only guess I could make would be that it would be something sacred to the dwarves. Which is usually very interesting...
Ravenstorture
Alastuin: Well, if you are interested in fiding out what's inside the labyrinth, why don't we all go and find out? Zaltazar: Why do you persist? Alastuin: Why do you keep not answering me? Zaltazar: Why are you so damn keen on going in there? Alastuin: Why aren't you? Zaltazar:............ Alastuin: you're afraid, aren't you. Zaltazar: I am not. Alastuin: Well, then why?
The Harlequin
Zaltazar: Because of the nagas. If I go in there, I'll have to kill a lot of them. And I don't want to do that. Alastuin: Soft-heartedness? From you? Zaltazar: Not really. They're a useful ally. Expediency really. Zaltazar sighs, and walks into the labyrinth, quickly losing the others in the complicated series of turns and passages. He has a feeling he knows how this place works.
Ravenstorture
Alastuin waits for the group to catch up with her at the mouth of the labyrinth, but she loved getting lost and teh tempation was too strong for her. The Harlequin
After about hald an hour of wondering why the others had completely failed to find him, Zaltazar slows and waits. After a few seconds, he hears some faint sounds behind him. Retraversing the passages he went down earlier, he finds Alastuin intently looking at the ground, trying to find a sign. Zaltazar: You too? Alastuin looks up, startled. Dusting herself off, she falls in step with Zaltazar, as he follows his earlier path again. Alastuin: It seems so. I have no idea where Rogan and Enron are, although I heard voices from a parallel passage a while back. Zaltazar: Are you sure it was parallel? Alastuin: Yes, it seemed to be only a foot or so away. Zaltazar: It probably was only that far away. Dwarven mazes are made so that passages that seem close require miles and hours to reach. I guess we'll just have to hope we all meet up at the middle. Alastuin: Any further though on what might be there? Zaltazar: I wasn't going to tell the other two, they might not take it well. But that is where the Hive will be. Alastuin: And you're leading me into the middle of it! Zaltazar: I was hoping you'd take it better than that... They walk in silence for a while, listenign intently for both signs of Enron and Rogan, as well as possible nagas.
The Unholy Newt
Rogan and Enron stumble around the passages trying to find the centre or at least Zaltazar and Alastuin. Enron: They have got to be around here somewhere. ZALTAZAR!! Rogan: Shouting is not going to help. It will just bring more Naga. Enron: Too late. They hear slithering from around the next corner and then from around it come more naga. But these ones were different and Enron and Rogan figure that they are the Nagishnzni. Rogan: Good, things were starting to get boring. Now we can have a nice little skirmish to occupy us. . . For a few minutes at least. Enron: A little!!! There must be at least 50 of them!!! Rogan: That's good. It means we must be nearing the centre. Rogan darts in and starts slicing up the nagas with his sword and is quickly joined by Enron. Five Minutes Later . . . Rogan: Nice fight if I do say so myself Enron: Yup Rogan: You need to improve your fighting. I killed twice as many as you. Enron: *mutters obscenities under his breath* Rogan: Well then. Lets continue. They keep going down the passage, carefully avoiding the dead bodies that litter the corridor

Ravenstorture
Alastuin: How were you hoping me to take it, exactly? Zaltazar: Are you scared? Alastuin: Yes, I am rather. Zaltazar: Are you... ok? Alastuin: I don't know. Actually... no, now I'm not. Zaltazar: That wouldn't be because the light jsut dissapeared, would it? Alastuin: Yes, that's probably it. Zaltazar: You are scared of the dark? Alastuin: Not normally, no. But under these conditions - yes. I don't think we should go any further without light tonight. Zaltazar: Light is easy. What do you want to do? Alastuin:.......... Zaltazar: Alastuin? Alastuin:......... Zaltazar: ****. Time passes, Zaltazar does not move. Suddenly, something grabs hold of his leg - he jumps, but then reaches down slowly to feel the top of whatever was holding him. It was Alastuin. Zaltazar: I suppose we are staying here for the night, then? Alastuin:......... Zaltazar: Fine, if you are going to be that way I will leave. Alastuin: Please - don't.... Zaltazar: Very well then. You're shaking....
The Harlequin
Alastuin: As I said, sometimes I dislike the dark. Zaltazar: It's alright, I'm here with you. Alastuin: Comfort? From you? Zaltazar: Well, if you wish to put it on that basis, I'll leave. There is a small sound, as if Alastuin tried to say something but it caught in her throat. To Zaltazar however, it sounded positively despairing. Reaching out, he strokes her hair, assuring her he is not going to leave. Alastuin: Please don't leave. I couldn't bear you leaving. Zaltazar: It's alright, I'm not leaving you. Alastuin: Thank you. After a short period, Zaltazar notices that Alastuin's hand has not stopped shaking. Zaltazar: It's alright, you don't need to be afraid. Alastuin: I'm not that afraid anymore. Zaltazar: Then why are you shaking? Alastuin: In case you haven't noticed, it's absolutely freezing here. Zaltazar: It's going to be cold night yes, and we have no fire. Try to keep awake. Alastuin: I can't help it, it's too cold. Sighing, Zaltazar pulls Alastuin up next to him, pressing her tightly against him. Alastuin starts, and shakes even more. Alastuin: What are you doing? Zaltazar: Keeping you warm. Alastuin: It's not really that cold. Zaltazar: If you say so. Zaltazar releases her, but she does not move. Puzzled, he shifts slightly, facing her in the pitch black darkness. Zaltazar: I thought you said it wasn't cold.
Ravenstorture
Alastuin: do you even know the first thing about human nature? Zaltazar: No, it seems that I don't. Care to explain some of it? Alastuin: ... just... hold me... Zaltazar, although puzzled, pulls her close to him again and soon enough she stops shaking. It is because she is fast asleep.

The Unholy Newt
Rogan and Enron jump up over the walls and start balancing along. Eventually they come upon two glowing torches Rogan: (Whispering) Zaltazar!? Zaltazar: Where are you? Rogan: Up here! Zaltazar and Alastuin jump up on top of the wall with the help of Enron and Rogan. Rogan: This way we can just go straight to the middle. Let's go. They continue on.
The Harlequin
After continuing on for a while, they notice that the walls are getting higher, slightly wider, and at intervals strange misshapen statues dot the walls. The statues are all of naga like beasts, but of aspect not even Zaltazar has seen before. Their faces are set in expressions of self-loathing immortal cruelty, and their weapons and poses match. Zaltazar: We must be getting close. These are close to thirty feet. Rogan: Well try not to fall off then. It would be impossible to get back up. As if his words were prophecy, the ground starts to shake. Around them, the statues start to shimmer, taking on life and form. Enron: Looks like someone decided to circumvent our idea. Zaltazar: This is not good, we have no room to fight. Instead of attacking them however, the ill-visaged statues turn their blows towards the ground, shaking the walls even more, Unable to hold balance through the onslaught, they all fall, Alastuin and Zaltazar on one side, Rogan and Enron on the other. (OOC: You know, there are times when you should just take a hint) Their last sights before the somnolent realm claims them is the sight of the statues jumping down after them, and powdering to dust as they hit the ground.
Guest cloricus
(OOC: *CRYS* Don't leave me with him.... :( ) Enron wakes up, some time has obversely pasted since he was knocked of the wall. Trying to move he finds that he is under a pile of dust, a trap for some but never for a fighter. After getting up a bit dazed Enron casts his spell only to find in the glimmering light Rogan stareing back at him. Rogan: Did you have a nice nap... Don't worry I killed them all for you. Enron mumbles: Great... Enron briskly turns and starts following the rise of the wall hoping to find the centre. Rogan starts running to catch up. Rogan: Why are you going that way? Enron: I want to know what is at the centre of this place, and at the moment it the only way that we can find to get out. Rogan: How do you know it's an exit? Enron: It could be a way out, and if it isn't we will die any way. Enron walks even faster trying and hoping to lose Rogan.
The Harlequin
OOC: That's not very nice. After an unknown period of time, Zaltazar wakes. Hearing some soft breathing beside him, he reaches out, and touches someone's arm. Judging by the feel, and the almost painful sick thrill that ran through him, he judged it to be Alastuin. His surmise is quickly confirmed by the light groan that is emitted by the inert body next to him. Alastuin: What happened? Zaltazar: We were knocked off the wall. Rogan and Enron are over the other side, so I guess it's just us again. Are you alright? Alastuin: No. I can't see a thing. Zaltazar: It actually is that dark. Alastuin draws a sharp breath. Zaltazar: You can take being blind, but you're afraid of the dark? Alastuin: Yes. Again Zaltazar sighs, and pulls Alastuin close to him. Alastuin: Why do you keep doing that? Zaltazar: Sorry. It's just that you seem scared. Alastuin: I'm alright. Zaltazar: Then do you feel up to moving yet?
Ravenstorture
Alastuin: No, I don't. Zaltazar: Are you alright? Alastuin: Yes, I feel up to it... I just don't want to. Zaltazar contemplates this for a while, but it is beyond him. Zaltazar: Would you mind telling me... why? Alastuin: At the moment, no. But really, honestly, are you complaining? The Harlequin
Zaltazar: It's up to you. Personally I think it would be best if we'd stayed put for a while. Alastuin: Why? Zaltazar: So I can work out what is going on. Alastuin: Alright. Zaltazar: You don't seem tha happy about it all of a sudden. I thought you didn't want to move? Alastuin: Well, there you go. Zaltazar: How does that explain anything? Alastuin: it doesn't. But I was giving you a taste of the inexplicable. Zaltazar: So you can't explain it, then. Alastuin: I guess not. Zaltazar(after a short pause): How does it feel for you to touch me? Alstuin: ........ Zaltazar: Ha, one back on you. Alastuin: It feels incredible. That you should feel that way. But really, that could mean anything. Alastuin: You just want me to spell something out, don't you.
