Guest BulmaVegeta1
Ok, just to let everyone know right now, this is not my point of view. ====================== I was watching the O'reilly Factor with my parents when this topic on Star Wars came on. So I ran to hear it. This Latino man (I don't know his name) stated that Star Wars Episode 2 had Racial Discrimation against Latinos in it!!!!!! I couldn't beleive it. How the hell does Star Wars have THAT in it??? Most people were watching the movie instead of griping about it, unlike this guy. I think he just wanted to gripe about the movie, like he's jealous of Mr. Lucas. He said that they were making fun of Latinos because of the bounty hunter, (Boba Fett's father) looked Hispanic or like he was from a third world country. He said that Latinos had a bad position in the movie just because they were the clones. He said that Latinos were made fun of because the clones were like mindless drones. I have no idea why he thought that, but how the hell are Latinos offended? I asked my Spanish friend, and he had no problem with the movie. I also talked to another 10 Hispanic friends of mine, and they said nothing was wrong. The part when Anakin killed all those aliens was another thing he griped about. He said that the aliens were really Native Americans or indians. I thought, WHAT!!!! INDIANS!!!!!?????!!!!! THEY'RE FREAKIN ALIENS FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!!!!! He said that it offended Indians. THis guy is insane!!! But that's just my opinoin on the matter. I'm not trying to offend anyone, and that's just what I think. I'm half Hispanic and I would never offend myself. Well, that's what I think. WHat do you think??
NorykoAngelcry
Well, to me it honestly sounds like someone trying to get on TV, and make a name for himself. It is just like the people in Episode 1 that complained that the Gungans were Jamacans and the Trade Federation were something like Japanese. It is rather a bad stain on the name of Star Wars, and what it is all about. I am rather saddened that there are people around still like that. I really hope that people don't believe he is trying to insult them in the least, because I can almost garuntee that he didn't intend for anyone to think of them that way. I don't feel that the clones were an attack on Latinos though. Think about it. If you made an army of clones, would you want to make them independent and smart? I don't think so. BlueGender
I heard theat Jar Jar was suppose to be African American and because of his bad grammer was suppose to be racist . But as a black person I did not see it and was not offended by Jar Jar he just seemed to be a comic relief in my opinion. People really need to lighten up. People are dumbasses... and like Son Goten said, they will do anything to get on TV, esspecially when it deals with the topic of race. Then they just look like idiots because it's JUST A F-ING MOVIE! Flash
Hispanic?! THIRD WORLD COUNTRY!?!? God damn, I hate ignorant people... Jango Fett was played by Temuera Morrison, a leading New Zealand actor. The young Boba Fett was also played by a New Zealander, Daniel Logan ... Senator Amidala's guard, Captain Typho (with the eye-patch) was played by Jay Laga'aia. Not hispanic, not latino, and most certainly not THIRD WORLD. I would advise you not to listen to crackpots who can't get their facts straight, heh...
Guest Voodookanaka
look anyone whos studied social postmodernism would realise how ludicrous this sounds, the majority of people today, dont see skin colour as being any different from the colour of your hair or eyes, it is the same with ethnic background. ppl in society like to be thought of as being unfairly treated, giving themselves more rights than your average person, minority groups will look within things for something to moan about, because their looking for it u will often find it, have all blonde ppl in movies got to be good looking!?!!?!? ive noted that because ive just looked for it. and if anybody brings up the cultural effects model , screw u its bull!................ Milliardo
I am Asian, and I wasn't offended by Episode I. Nor by Episode II. There wasn't any descrimination to be seen in the movies. James
I saw this episode of the O'Reilly Factor...and yes, the guy who was complaining about Star Wars is a nut. lol He said that Jango Fett was "third world looking"...well I'm sorry, but how can you claim to be anti-racism when you make an incredibly racist/prejudice remark like that?! That annoyed me...yes, as Flash said, he was a Maori...as was Boba Fett. That is really annoying...the guy was claiming to be some know-it-all who had a holier than thou attitude...but he is too ignorant and stupid to get his facts straight. I mean...as the other guy on the show said...Count Dooku was white...does that mean all white people should be angry and cry racism? Of course not. It's kind of off topic, but look at that Steve Irwin idiot...do people really think that all Australians talk like idiots and enjoy rubbing up against crocodiles? Of course not. And do Australians somehow claim that his antics are unfair, because he's a traditional stereotype? No...of course not. The whole thing is stupid nitpicking...ugh...that guy really annoyed me...

Transtic Nerve
I can't help but realize, this guy, who said these things, knows NOTHING about Star Wars. And, as SOME of you know, when one knows nothing about something, then goes about to make generalizations about that something, he/she will always end up being wrong and always look like a fool. The prime example is this very own case. He refers to the Tusken Raiders as "Indians" and that killing them was "racial".... it's obvious again, this man has no idea what he's saying. The idea of killing the Tusken Raiders was to show a development in Anakin's character. To show that he is easy overcome by anger and hatred for the people that killed his mother. It just so happened, Lucas needed a fall "race"... what a better choice than the Tusken Raiders... anyway... what's next? A riot of little people protesting the Jawas!? (j/k) Seriously though, whoever couldn't see that the Clone's were Kiwi's *prey's that Kiwi's are New Zealander's and not Australians* needs seriously medical help..... as will I if Kiwi's aren't from New Zealand. I mean, when Jango said "Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi" how can ANYONE possibly think that's a Latino accent? BabyGirl
Heh heh heh. I laugh at that man. I am a white, American female...I guess that means I am offended by the fact that Zam Wesell tried to, well...spoiler...but you know what I'm talking about if you saw the movie :p Heh heh heh. Tusken Raiders=Native Americans now?! Heh heh heh. The Tusken Raider history goes waaaay back. They're a vicious species that doesn't hesitate to kill their own clan members. Like someone already said, it was to illustrate Anakin's lashing out in anger and coming dangerously close to the Dark Side. Had Shmi been captured by a group of Hutts, it wouldn't have made any sense, since Hutts wouldn't be interested in an ex-slave for any reason but ransom money. Whoever this guy is that's accusing Episode II of being racially bias, had Anakin killed a bunch of Hutts, the guy would have accused Lucas of descriminating against obese people. Heh heh heh. Thank you for my dose of amusement for the day ;)
Guest BulmaVegeta1
So true BG....so true..... Ok, so this guy is a little psycho...no, REALLY psycho! ===================== Does anyone agree with me.....Is Anakin cute??? I know a bunch of guys that think Padme (Natalie Portman) is pretty, but that's besides the point. I forgot the name of the actor that plays Anakin...isn't it Hayden Christensen or something??? Anyway....I think he's REALLY hot!! Anyone agree???.....
PiroMunkie
That is really stupid. I mean, sure when first saw them I did think they were Hispanic, but once I heard how they spoke they obviously don't have the accent so I knew they weren't Hispanic. But I also didn't think of it as anything racial, but my friends and I did make racial jokes about it. We're not racist or anything, don't get us wrong, jokes are just funny. We do have lines drawn though, cause at some point they just aren't funny. We mostly work with stereotypes though.. Anyway, I will be sure to set the record straight as to they are New Zealanders!!! Woo! I don't know any NZ jokes... darn, lol.
Sara
Good Lord, Flash, you scare me sometimes...I'm going to put a disclaimer in my sig or something. "This post was in no way, shape or form meant to say anything remotely upsetting about new Zealand." Because I'd sure hate to get you upset. -_-; Anyway...Yeah, that movie was totally racist. You know that scene? The one with the people? And that one thing happens? Totally racist. I'm going to sue.
