James
It was a lazy summer?s afternoon in Coruscant. The networks of air highways were moving more slowly than usual. Nobody seemed to be in any great hurry. But soon enough, the peace was disturbed. An enormous shadow appeared on the horizon. As it moved closer, it grew, enveloping Coruscant?s pristine skyscrapers in darkness. The air traffic slowed even further as the darkness descended on several city blocks. The crowds on the streets below looked toward the ever-darkening sky, partly with wonder and partly with fear. They could see an object floating over the city silently. To those on the ground, it looked like a distant arrowhead. Despite the fact that it looked to be very far away, it was large enough to have almost completely blocked out the sun. As the object descended on Coruscant, it became more apparent to those watching that the object was in fact a starship. And even though it was still several miles from the tip of the tallest skyscraper, those below could already hear its massive engines whirring loudly. Had the object been standing vertically from nose to tail, it would easily have eclipsed most of the city?s buildings in size. But now, the starship didn?t descend any further, for fear of causing a terrible accident. The sheer size of the vessel compelled its operators to keep it at least one mile above the city skyline. And now that it had descended downward from the stratosphere, it began to slowly lurch forward, travelling toward an airfield of equally impressive size on the outskirts of the city. Those in the highest office towers of Coruscant needed only to look out their window to gain a clearer picture of the vessel as it passed by. The underside of its hull was a busy network of engineering and superstructure, punctuated by giant gun emplacements and deep gashes, some of which stretched for more than 300 meters in length. The smooth edges of the hull were periodically broken by huge landing lights. The lights themselves cast wide cones of red, which made Coruscant?s skyline look as though it was on fire. The starship?s engines were humming so loudly, that those in the highest towers nearby could feel the vibrations pounding against the walls of the buildings. After what seemed like an eternity, the starship finally approached the gigantic airfield on the outskirts of the city. As it made its final approach, several areas on the underside of the hull opened up. Each of these areas were easily as large as a football stadium. And as they opened, large metallic platforms -- being held to the ship by a complex array of hydraulics and titanium surfaces -- expanded outward from the hull. The enormous arrowhead-shaped starship slowly descended on the airfield, its stadium-sized metallic feet outstretched, reaching for the ground. And then, with a deafening thud, it landed. The airfield which the starship had landed on was more than 20 miles in length. It had originally been constructed on behalf of the Galactic Empire, as a place where Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers could be repaired by ground crews. However, the Super Star Destroyer which was now occupying the expansive airfield was certainly not in good shape; there were several deep gashes running along its hull; several weapon emplacements had been severely damaged; much of the habitable "cityscape" on the deck of the ship had been destroyed and much of the ship's electronic wiring and engineering structure was also damaged. Nevertheless, this starship had been one of the lucky ones. Unlike many of her sisters, she hadn't been a victim of what was known among the New Republic as the "Star Destroyer Graveyard". The Star Destroyer Graveyard had been used by the Rebel Alliance to destroy what was left of the Imperial Battlefleet, after the Battle of Endor. A large, uninhabited area of Tatooine had been chosen by the Rebel Alliance and essentially, what was left of the Imperial Battlefleet was sent crashing to the planet's surface via autopilot. Most of the fleet had been completely destroyed upon impact, but some vessels had survived. This Super Star Destroyer was one of them. The Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic had asked a reconnaisance team to locate any "useable" starships in the graveyard and retrieve them. While this seemed contrary to the Rebel Alliance's goal of completely destroying the vessels, the team cooperated with the Chancellor's orders nonetheless. And now here it was. Despite the fact that it was fairly severely damaged, it was still an impressive sight. There simply wasn't another ship in the galaxy of this size; the Super Star Destroyer was definitely the most intimidating reminder of the Galactic Empire's power. Only moments after landing, a section of the underside of the ship's hull began to open. The creaky, damaged hydraulic arms could be heard screeching and grinding against one another for quite some distance. And once the two panels on either side had opened, a small platform emerged from deep within the ship. Standing on the platform was a middle-aged man. His grey hair and beard obscured his face from view. As the platform reached the ground, he stepped onto the cool concrete surface of the airfield and began walking towards the Chancellor's representatives, who were waiting for him near the nose of the ship. One of the representatives was wearing an elaborate green and white gown, which flowed behind her as it caught the wind. She had long brown hair and deep, green eyes. As the man approached, she held her hand out, expecting the man to do the same...but he didn't. He looked at her, looked at the other representatives and then smirked to himself. Han Solo: So this is the thanks I get? A lousy handshake for all my hard work? The young woman looked at the other representatives with a surprised look on her face. She then turned back to the man. Representative: Uh, sir...you will be payed in due course. Our technicians need to check this vessel first, to ensure that it hasn't been tampered with. The man rolled his eyes, making no effort to hide his feelings from the young woman. Han Solo: Look, lady...you asked me to get this piece of junk off Tatooine, right? I did what you asked and now you need to live up to your end of the bargain. Representative: It won't take long, sir. I assure you, once the vessel is screened, we'll pay you. The man soon realized that he wasn't going to get his money immediately. He sighed and nodded. Han Solo: Fine. I don't even know why you want this chunk of space debris...it looks like it's been hit by a few too many asteroids. Eh, I'll never understand politicians... The man gave a halfhearted bow to the woman and made his way inside the hangar. The representative walked slowly underneath the ship. She'd never seen a Super Star Destroyer "in the flesh" before. She, too, had no idea why the New Republic would want to dig up an old relic such as this. But she suspected that the Jedi Council knew something she did not...
Yoda
Byss, a harsh planet. The sky, since it's existance, had always been scorched a burning red. Every cloud, regardless of how few there were, was un-naturally black. The planet was motly un-inhabited. The few creatures that dwelled here lived deep under the surface, only a few insects and bat-like aliens were able to live on it's surface. The surface of the planet was very mountainous, jagged, broken down rocks and cliffs made it a very difficult place to manouver through. There were many caves, intricatly woven through the jagged mountains and cliff faces. There was always a terrible wing present, and it was terribly hot, even though the sun shon rarely on the planet. A ship suddenly broke through the atmosphere. piercing the scorched sky like a bullet wound, the harsh redness of the sky whisping outwards. The ship soared downwards so elegantly, one sign of perfection in an otherwise dismal-looking planet. It's shiny silver colour, however, was made more sutle by the dull sky of Byss. The ship, a Sith Infiltrator, came to an altitude equal to that of Byss' highest mountain in that area. The ships reverse thrusters suddenly kicked in, a blue flamed gas slowly dispersing from the base of the ship, making it fall much more slowly. Three air-sealed compartments in the ship suddenly unlocked, and lowered slowly, a huge hydraulic pump powering each of them. These were the 'landing legs'. They folded outwards, until the padding at the edges of each metal sheet was at that base. Slowly but smoothly, the ship touched down, the reverse thrusters kicking out as it did so. Moments later, the main engines of the Sith Infiltrator cut out also. There was complete silence for a breif second or so, before a section of the back detached it's air-tight seal from the rest of the ship, and rotated downwards, stopping only when it touched the ground, making a walkway. Immediately afterwards, several guards in black uniforms marched out of the ship. They walked in twos, lining up at the base of the walkway in two parallel lines. Then, the pilot and co-pilot marched out and did the same. Finally, two figures appeared in the doorway. Both were clothed in black tunic's and cloaks which covered their entire bodies. One however........ was a great deal taller than the other. The shorter of the two held in his right hand a sppectacular staff. The wood gleamed even in this dismal planet's air. The gem on the top glinted from underneath his hand, as the two slowly began to walk down the walkway. The guards, and pilots in turn, all saluted as the two dark figures walked past. Both of them, no-less the small one, had very intimidating presences. Even their own guards pulses raced as they walked past, they were so very afraid of what the mysterious men could do.
Warlock
Hordes off ships of all shapes and sizes travelled above the planet of Coruscant, about half of them leaving the planet and about half coming down to visit it... Amid the crowd were spacestations, satellites and various New Republic battle crusiers, all watching over the planet... However, the atomsphere seemed much more tense, with many of those in the military crafts who had not been informed of the SSD's journey to Coruscant slightly spooked of it's arrival... Many had thought the Empire had risen again... However, everything was still in order, just as it had always been for most of Coruscant's space-born history... At the outskirts of the system appeared a sleek X-Wing, the New Republic insignia painted boldy on each side... The occupant, a Jedi by the name of "Kyle Stryker", sat back as his R6 unit began to change the ship's course so it would travel along one of the proper entry vectors... As the ship began to swing slightly to the left, a light on the console began to blink on and off, alerting Kyle to an incoming message... Pushing a button beneath the flashing light, Kyle pushed his microphone closer to his mouth... Flight-Control: "This is Flight Control. Please identify yourself X-Wing." Kyle: "This is New Republic X-Wing "XJ-382". Transmitting codes now." Kyle waited as his R6 unit sent the code, letting it by cross-referenced with his X-Wing and New Republic records... Flight-Control: "You are cleared for entrance Jedi Knight Styker." With a click the message ended, and Kyle sighed as the ship began to enter Coruscant's atomsphere... He couldn't even begin to count the amount of times he'd flown down into Coruscant, and always found it annoying how there was atleast one pilot who would almost crash into him as he entered... Blinking hard for a few second, he awaited the close call, beginning to wonder if this was the Force's way of telling him something... As the cloud's began to fill out, he let the force flow through him, felling the presence of many individual's flying close to him, both human and alien alike... But as he entered the top line of traffic just above Coruscant's highest skyscrapers, he noticed that there hadn't been one close call at all... Not even anything close to it... "They must've got more strict" he thought, and dismissed any other thoughts as he concentrated on flying over to one of the Jedi Temple's ship bays... Though deep down inside, he knew something was brewing within the Force...
NorykoAngelcry
Several loud beeps brought Noryko out of his dreamlike state. He jumped up, half rubbing his eyes and half punching at keys at the control console, though he wasn?t sure what hand was doing what. It was almost second nature to him by now. He couldn?t help but smile as R2-D4 howled at him. ?Artoo, I know I should drop out of hyperspace, but I don?t like the long trip toward the planet, this will cut plenty of time off the rest of the trip.? Noryko grabbed at his stomach, ?Besides, I?m starved, and these synthetic foods just won?t do.? Another short howl of defeat came back from his Astromech Droid. Noryko was amazed to this day that his R2 unit actually cared about him. Though it had been over 4 years since he saved the droid from being destroyed, he couldn?t help but laugh at all they had been through over the years. After another complaintive whistle, Noryko finally pulled the ship out of hyperspace. He pulled the ship up in a sharp loop and had to slam the reverse thrusters just to barely avoid slamming his ship into a Corellian Corvette. Most pilots wouldn?t even have noticed the ship before their reflexes kicked in too late, causing them to be another spec in the universe, but Noryko had been a much better pilot then most he knew. He finally came to a stop, floating only a few hundred meters above the freighter. Noryko could barely breath a sigh of relief when a blaring voice came over the comlink. ?Pilot! What in the stars do you think you were trying to pull coming out of hyperspace that close to the planet, let alone near MY ship?!? A strong female voice shouted. ?Well,? Noryko couldn?t help but let out a short laugh. ?Is something funny? I fail to see how ending your life and many of my own crew?s would amuse you!? The voice came back. ?It wasn?t anything personal, I just wanted to cut the time to the planet is all,? Noryko was turning red now, finally realizing how dangerous of a stunt he just pulled. ?I would hope you would be much more careful next time, pilot,? the voice came back again, as if it was a mother scolding her child. The words seemed to sting Noryko?s pride, and he dropped his head in defeat, ?You are right of course.? A smile crossed his face, ?Allow me to buy you dinner to show you how sorry I am?? ?Not likely, I have to get this shipment to Coruscant. Even after the war, munitions are still needed more then ever.? ?Blast it, can?t even impress anyone this far out.? ?Pilot,? the voice caused Noryko to jump, ?next time, close the line before opening that big mouth of yours. Out-? Noryko laughed, and settled back in the cockpit. It was going to be a long day, and he hadn?t even landed on the Thromus, the third moon of Gress, a gaseous planet. The moon was known for it?s metal that was mined deep in the surfaces of this massive moon. The metal was formed into a variety of molds that were made and shipped to many different planets. It was used for just about everything, from ship construction to weapons manufacturing. Sometimes, the finished products were brought back to the moon for final checks and shipments to the final destinations. Noryko was here for another purpose though. He had received word that there was some miners that had been revolting for some time, and had actually hijacked a shipment of personal arms, locking themselves and many hostages in some lower level facilities. No sooner had he even though about his purpose in the system then the Control Watchman chimed in on the communications line. ?Greetings Captain Noryko, I trust your trip here was uneventful?? The Mon Calamari?s voice seemed a bit rattled even though he was hiding it very well. ?Hardly a run-in at all, I am transmitting my security codes over now,? Noryko answered back. ?I hope I am not too late to be of any use here.? ?Not at all actually, the miners have been quite silent the past few days.? The Mon Calamari paused for a minute, ?Excuse me sir, we can talk about this later. You are clear to land on the private landing pad 4 in sector A-2D. We are sending the location to you now.? Noryko piloted his ship in easily enough, but could not shake the feeling that something was amiss in all of this. Was the Mon Calamari lying to him about the present situation, or was he simply a bit nervous about the close encounter he had only minutes ago? Regardless, Noryko would find out soon, it was his job after all.
Yoda
The larger of the two dark warriors turned to the shorter one, as the shorter of the two lowered his hood. The small creature's skin was green, he had long pointy ears, red / yellow eyes, and small white hairs on his head. He looked very similar to the late Jedi master Yoda. His name was Xan-Vendra, though this fact was as sparcely known as the name of his master. Vin-Mar: I believe the Emperor has a task for you Lord Vendra. Xan: Ah, a hefty task, I hope this will be. Dissapointed I was, with the simplicity of the last one. Vin-Mar: Indeed.... your skills shouldn't be wasted in such mindless tasks. Xan and Vin-Mar marched into a cave that was before them. Vin-Mar was easily twice Xan's size, and yet Xan was able to keep us with him quite easily, even with his walking stick. They marched along the narrow passage-way, and after a short time they came to a flight of stairs. By now it was terribly dark. Xan waved his hand over the gem at the top of his staff, and it lit up brightly, igniting the entire area with lumination, as the gem glowed a warm red. Xan started climbing down the steps, followed a few paces behind by Vin-Mar. They descended for what seemed like an eternity. The air grew steadily more stuffy, but neither of the mysterious Sith Lords were un-affected. The walls and ceiling seemed to widen though, and the steps grew steadily more hewn and rough. Finally, Xan led the two into a clearing at the base of the steps. They appeared in a huge room, which was astonishingly equipped with very modern facilities. At the back of the room, a dark figure sat with his head lowered. The two Sith Lords walked into a stared circle in the centre of the room, and dropped onto one knee, lowering their heads. At that moment, the dark figure in the chair lifted his head. His face was terribly pace and wrinkled, his blood-red eyes shot through even the Sith Lords, and his decrepid teeth gleamed in a crooked, evil grin. Emperor: Rise.... my friends. The two Sith rose to their feet, again greeting the Emperor by bowing, before they actually addressed him. The Emperor slothfully moved towards Xan, smiling more crookedly than before. Emperor: Lord Vendra.... your progressing skills continue to astound me. I have an assignment for you... One of great importance. Xan: Ready to serve you, I am. My assignment, tell me. Emperor: My young friend.... I want you to travel to the Republic's central planet of Coruscant. The reigning Supreme Chancellor is very weak minded. I wish for you to corrupt him into war. Xan: Ah, with whom shall I make him go to war? Emperor: There is a large planet on the outskirts of the Oovo system that is still under Imperial control. It will not take much to make them go to war with the republic. The planet is Syphon III. Xan: Done, it shall be. When shall I leave? Emperor: Leave immediately. It will take time to cause a planetary war, especially with Jedi interference. The quicker you start, the better. Xan bowed low to the Emperor, then turned to his master, and bowed to him aswell. Then, before he departed, Xan slowly started to rise into the air. He came to eye-level with his master, and floated away, towards the stairs.
BabyGirl
Dria cursed as red laser fire rained down upon Damira's Grace. The Hapin Radicals were in hot pursuit. Hapin Radical: I suggest you surrender yourself now, Longstar. Dria muttered a few more insults and curses into her pilot helmet's mike. She knew that her ship could easily outrun the pieces of junk that the Radicals had thrown together. She scowled at the fact that they had stolen many of the Royal House's personal starfighters, weaponry, belongings, heirlooms...they were all a part of her past. Dria: Try me, Madame Radical. Your fire is not friendly in the least... Radical: No, Longstar, it certainly isn't. Dria: Then that gives me fair reason to return fire. Dria ceased the twisting and dodging she had been doing to evade laser fire, and pulled her F-Star (short for Farbanian Starfighter) up hard, emerging from a shadowy canyon into bright, blue daylight. She pulled a quick loop and dove back on top of her pursuers, splattering a warning of purple laser fire across their hulls. Dria: Hang on ladies, and good luck...you're going to need it.
NorykoAngelcry
As Noryko neared the landing pad, he spotted a Mon Calamari standing next to two humans. The Mon Calamari was dressed in a light-weight shirt, which hung freely from his shoulders. He also wore very loose fitting pants. Noryko had known many Mon Calamari, but none that really dressed this way. He looked next to the first human, a security guard by the looks of it. He had a blaster rifle swaying to his side as his posture was slouched in nature. He favored his right leg, carrying the weapon with his left arm, balancing out in an awkward looking position. Noryko let a small smile slip through his most serious look. Even as a security guard though, Noryko noticed that he too was dressed with light-weight clothing. Perhaps that was the customary style of clothing here? Noryko put the thought out of his head all together. The last man standing at the hanger door was dressed in long robes, but the way the wind caught it, the cloth seemed to be very thin. Noryko smiled again, hoping he wasn?t overdressed for the seriousness of the situation. As the man in the robes pulled back his hood, Noryko spotted his man. The tallest of the three was the mining colony leader, Lord Dust Youn?Du. His facial expression bore no emotion at all, and Noryko almost immediately regretted smiling at the group at all. First impressions were very important to smaller colonies like this, and Noryko didn?t want to seem weak at all. He was sent there to investigate and intercede in unruly matters, and that was what he wanted to do. R2-D4 beeped, letting him know the craft had settled without any problems. Noryko thanked the droid, and began his shutdown procedures as he clicked a button, releasing the cover of his X-Wing. As the cockpit canopy lifted, Noryko was slammed with an intense amount of humidity. He now understood why the outfits here were made of thin materials. Even before he got his gear from the craft, he felt the clothes start sticking to his body. Noryko hoped the interior structure would be cooled, but had a feeling they wouldn?t spend the money if they had a way around it. As he turned around, he saw Lord Youn?Du approaching him slowly. Youn?Du ? I am glad to see you here ahead of schedule Captain, allow me to introduce my aids. He mentioned back towards the other two, who slowly met up with their boss. Pointing towards the Mon Calamari, he smiled. Youn?Du ? This is my trusted advisor Bren Cesloo. He is in charge of handling incoming and outgoing spacecraft. He also has the extremely important task of keeping track of all the shipments we process here. Without him, we would be lost within a matter of weeks. Noryko bowed to the Mon Calamari who in return bowed back. Bren ? I got word just after we spoke of your close encounter up there. I am glad to see our protector was not hurt. Korton ? Or killed for that matter. Youn?Du ? And allow me to introduce our head of security, Korton. An old space pirate who decided protecting was much easier then attacking. Noryko ? I am happy to meet all of you, but if you wouldn?t mind, I would like to get to my room as soon as possible. It has been a long trip, and I am sorry to say that I am a bit worn out, and this heat isn?t helping any. Bren ? What heat? Youn?Du - *laughing* Bren, he is not used to our climate here. Come *waving towards their new guest* You will find the compound much more suitable to your likings. They walked to the hanger door, which slid open at the touch of a few keys from Korton. Lord Youn?Du proceeded first, with Bren close behind him, talking about the latest shipment of weapons which were to be transferred to Tatooine for a local militia guard that had formed for city protection. Behind them walked Korton, eyeing back one last time to Noryko, wishing he would try something. But Noryko was not one to try and antagonize a fight. Instead, he preferred to try and resolve things as peaceful as possible, but his outstanding record in the face of danger was what kept him on the more dangerous assignments, even the ones that negotiation was ruled out. Once inside, Noryko noticed how well ventilated the compound was. Bren informed him that the facilities were kept at this temperature because Lord Youn?Du grew up in a much cooler climate, and preferred to keep his workplace as similar to his homeland as possible. The addition of multiple plants within eyeshot of each other seemed to bring this rustic, run down complex a more homey feel. Noryko was impressed with how so little could do so much. After they rounded a few more corners, Lord Youn?Du bid Noryko to join him for dinner. After agreeing, turned and left with Korton, discussing security protocols. Bren stayed to show Noryko to his room. Though he was not sure how long he would be staying, Noryko always felt better establishing a more comfortable surrounding for himself. In many cases, a private chamber such as a bedroom usually satisfied his wishes. Noryko had finally settled in, and his bags were brought to him from his ship. R2-D4 had also come along with the bags to make sure no one tampered with them. A cheerful beep brought a smile and a thanks from Noryko, being exactly what the little droid needed to hear. He started a scan of the room for any hidden listening or spying devices. Once satisfied, the droid settled in one of the corners of the room, and sat silently while Noryko went through his things. A small chime at the door, and R2 swiveled his head curiously towards the door. Noryko opened it up, seeing a young woman at the door. Women ? *bowing* My master, Lord Youn?Du, bids you to join him now for supper. If you are ready now, I would be honored to show you the way. Noryko ? Thank you, I am prepared now. Please, *motioning the way* lead on. The two had made their way down a few passageways, crossing near a large overhanging which overlooked many molding machines. Noryko came to find out that these were where a new prototype batch of Republic blasters were to be made in the following months. Noryko noticed the young woman was only too happy to be showing him all of the wonderful structures the compound had to offer. Finally they reached the private dining hall. Noryko was shown to his seat, and the servant left. Dinner was brought out, and served to both Lord Youn?Du and Noryko. It was a very delicious looking meal. A fresh salad complimented a large portion of meat that was to be the main course. Wine was served to wash down the simple, yet elaborate looking meal. For desert, a variety of fruits were placed on a dish, each one seeming to be alive with rich colors, and equally with deep, sensual tastes. Noryko was not used to the fruits, but didn?t bother the time to ask what they were before he had munched down his fourth piece. After they were finished, Lord Youn?Du bid his servants to leave them alone. Once the doors were closed, he leaned in towards Noryko. Lord Youn?Du ? I feel you have come at a rather bad time my Republic friend. Noryko - *looking a bit surprised* Oh? Do tell, why is that? Lord Youn?Du ? It seems the mining revolt was just the start of things that are happening to plague my establishment here. I believe someone wants me dead, and I don?t have a clue who. I can not trust anyone, yet I do not want to make myself seem anyhow suspicious. Please, I have done too much to be killed for something I have no knowledge of ever doing. Please help me. The look in his eyes tore at Noryko?s soul. He could sense an earnest cry for help, even beyond the words of the man in front of him. His eyes seemed to pull at Noryko, making him shake his head before he could even mouth the words. Noryko ? I will do everything I can to make sure no harm is brought to you. And I promise that I will get to the bottom of whatever is going on here. . .
Yoda
I have changed my character, and yes, James has given me permission to do so. I have changed the profile of him, as shown here: http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?postid=209038#post209038 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Scorpion broke suddenly through the atmosphere of Coruscant. It sped downwards , only picking up speed as it got nearer to Coruscants surface. Inside, Xanko Fett sat in his pilot's chair, which was buckled to the floor. Through his helmet, he was trying to pick up on another bounty hunters location. The other bounty hunter was a human female by the name of Sam Dodonga, and she had stolen a large amount of credits from Xanko when he was busy on a job. And as was customary for his name, NO-ONE stole from the Fetts. As his telebinocular visor scanned the area around the space port carefully, a high pitched- continuous bleep echoed into Xanko's mandlorian battle helmet. Then, the Scorpion's internal alarms started, as steam started pouring into the cockpit from the gaseous vents. The Scorpion was starting to overheat badly, it had broken through the atmosphere far to quickly, Xanko flying on pure fury at catching Sam. Xanko: Shut down alarms, seal off cockpit area. Xanko's helmet was connected directly to the intelligence unit of his ship. In an instant, the ship responded, as the alarms muted, and the large iron door of the cockpit slid down, and sealed air-tight. Now, the cockpit would be cooled, and stored with the emergency oxygen supply, as the rest of the ship took the full beating of the overh-heating. Atleast, this way, Xanko would remain intact, even if his ship was torn apart. A red crosshair blinked suddenly in the visor of Xanko's helmet, and it zoomed in, showing Sam on the surface, getting into her land speeder. Xanko slammed on the reverse thrusters, he was in no rush now, he knew the girl would soon be in his custody. Spinning the Scorpion in mid-descent so it's back faced the ground (as was common proccedure for all Firespray-Class Interceptors) lowered himself down towards one of the empty landing bays near to where Sam had taken off. Suddenly, a spark of static issued on the comm. reciever. Someone from below was trying to contact him. ???: Pilot, please identify yourself. You do not have permission to land here..... retreat your decent, or you shall be shot down. Xanko spoke in his usual, emotionless voice. Xanko: Well then I suggest you give me clearence for that landing bay.... 'cause I'm not differing from my course. There was a pause for a few seconds, as Scorpion lowered itself even further towards the landing pad. The comm. started up again, though Xanko hardly acknowledged it. ???: You......... you have permission to land... procceed. Xanko smirked under his battle helmet..... he knew that was exacly how it would turn out. His ship rotated horizontally at it entered the landing pad. The reverse thrusters kicked in, 4 thing but powerful jets of blue flame, slowing the Scorpions descent dramatically. It touched down on the ground, as the reverse thrusters cut out, shortly followed by the engines stopping. The hatchway to the Scorpion opened, and for a few seconds there was nothing but silence. All of a sudden, a smaller, higher pitched engine kicked in, and Xanko shot out of the hatchway on his ship on a speeder bike. Xanko: No-one steals from me......... and lives to tell about it.
Shy
(A silent crowd fills the huge arena of the New Republic Senate. Each world's represenatives sit on large, floating platforms which move towards the center of the arena. All eyes are clearly focused on Aba Oosed, the popular senator from Ithor who is completing his speech on species tolerance within the republic.) Aba: ...if we do not learn to overcome the differences between the thousands of species which inhabit this universe, than we can never hope to accomplish true peace. (Aba takes a brief pause from his speech to allow the audience to cheer. He organizes some of his notes, and smiles.) Aba:The true evil in this galaxy cannot be attributed to one man, or a mystical force. It is the responsibility of everyone to work together! (A second platform moves towards the center of the arena. It is the grey haired, human Skan Nailo, a senator from the war-torn planet of Vanjung.) Skan: Your dreams of a tolerant galaxy are idealistic, there is no hope of equality among all the species. We must realize this fact in order to establish political and racial boundries, which will prevent the outbreak of future wars. (Skan looks directly into Aba's eyes. The two of them had been former friends, until the corruption of the senate had taken its toll on Skan. Skan actively promotes the ideas and philosophies of the former empire. He uses this fact to gain popularity among the politically dominant humans, who do not wish to lose the authority they once had over the galaxy.) Aba: You are making the wrong decision if you ally with this man, he will bring the New Republic back to the ways of Palpatine. This is the first step towards the rebirth of an empire! (A high pitched tone echos throughout the arena, and all platforms are moved back to their regular positions.) Announcer: We have reached the end of this meeting, all debates will continue tomorrow afternoon! Queen Asuka
Jessica walks home alone, after a very long and sickening night. She glances over her shoulder at the night club where she had just finished performing. Her skin was clammy and sweaty and her blonde hair was plastered to her head. If she wasn't so skilled as a dancer, she'd find a decent job somewhere else. She was only working for the money, anyway. Jessica: This is no way for a Jedi Knight to support herself...it's so incriminating and shameful... She continued to walk down the streets of lower Coruscant, pulling her sheer hood close around her face, not looking at any of the locals as she got cat calls at every step. There was always some alien on a corner trying to buy her "services" for the night. She understood a multitude of languages as the yelled at her. Finally she reached a place where she could hail a taxi to take her to the higher levels, to her own home at the top of a huge skyscraper. She intructed the driver where to take her and they sped off. As she sat behind him, she began to probe his mind, looking to see what kind of past he had. He used to be a politician, and he got cheated by a close friend, driving him into the poor house. She shook her head. When the reached her stop, she stepped off onto the platform and handed the driver a tip. She thanked him and was on her way. She stepped gently into the elevator and pressed the button for the highest floor. She loved living at the top of the apartment complex, although it did cost her a little extra. She rode in silence, no one else being in the elevator with her since it was so late at night. When the elevator stopped, she walked down the hallway to her own apartment, her home. She opened the door and locked it securely behind her. She began stepping out of her clothes immediately, pressing a button beside the door and hearing her shower start up. She sighed heavily and walked into the bathroom, leaving the door open behind her.
Justin
Greygg looked out into the vast expanse of Space. His father, Kueller, was on a long range mission with his best friend, Brakiss. He missed them greatly, so he reached out to try and sense them. These kind of silly attachments are something his father always taught him to ignore, but he felt he could not. And at least he wasn't alone in the matter. He sensed that Brakiss was also slightly more emotional than Father would have him be. StormTrooper: Master Greygg, sir. Master Kueller desires to speak with you privately. Greygg: Vey well. Transfer the transmission to by Battle Room. ST: Yes, sir. Greygg walked quickly to his Battle Room. Though, he had not made it obvious to the storm trooper who brought him the messge, he was quite surprised that Kueller would contact him while on a long-range mission. It must be urgent, indeed. Greygg: You wished to speak with me, Master. Greygg kneeled Kueller: Yes, Greygg. I have a mission for YOU. Greygg: Me, sir? Kueller: Indeed, Greygg...you. We have word that the New Republic has a Super Star Destroyer in their hands. This is desturbing to us. However, as you know, the Emperor built a new kind of Star Destroyer shortly before his untimely passing. The SOVEREIGN STAR DESTROYER. I'm sending you the blueprints for it now. As you can see it is WELL larger than any planet in the known galaxy, and has enough fire-power to equal that of 6 Death Stars. Also, it is capable of carrying smaller SD types within itself. Making it possible to launch a full-scale invasion from only one ship. Greygg: But surely the Republic found this Soveriegn? Kueller: Quite the contrary. There is still one planet where the Dark Side has absolute dominion. You might call it the "Emperor's Summer Get-away"...that is Byss. It's deep in the core of the Galaxy. I want you to begin making your way to Byss. I sense something awesome there. Once you arrive, CAREFULLY begin searching for the Sovereign. I will follow you shortly. Greygg: This is very unexpected... Kueller: You will manage. The best route to Byss is through Nal Hutta. You can find a Deep Core Runner there. Greygg: I will try, my Master. Kueller: I know you will. The transmission ended, leaving Greygg in the dark room all alone. He reached out, again, to try and search for Byss. As soon as he had begun, wild vision began flashing through his mind of war machines of unspeakable power. He found himslef clutching the side of the wall. This would be no joy ride. ... -Justin
Warlock
Kyle stood on the balcony of his medium-sized apartment right next to the re-built Jedi Temple... The apartment didn't have that much in the way of furnishings, and there wasn't much furniture... Having been sent half-way across the galaxy quite often, Kyle didn't really see the need to put money into filling his place with more furniture which he probably would never use... Sighing, Kyle stepped back off the balcony, walking into his living room... The transparisteel door slowly slid closed behind him, and he settled down onto a small cushion in the middle of the room he used for meditation... He slowly closed his eyes, and let the Force flow through him... He awakened from his state of peace a few hours later, and slowly got up from the cushion... Rolling his shoulders, he walked over to the door of his apartment, punching a code on a small console by the door... After it had slid open, Kyle walked through, into a neat and narrow hall... He glanced around, before walking down to the left, coming to a grey steel door at the end of the hall... It opened automaticaly, revealing a small elevator with transparisteel walls, letting the occupant view Coruscant from inside... Kyle stepped forward into the small space, and waited for the elevator to reach the roof, where he could take a quick journey to the Jedi Temple with an Air Taxi...
Yoda
Xanko launched out of the space port, and straight into the bust airways of Coruscant. He flew at tremendous speed, dodging life threatening traffic as he tried to catch Sam. He could see her location, though not through his scopes. He saw her in his mind, using the force, as she passed an oddly cubed building. Xanko looked to his left, and there, near Coruscants surface, was the cubed building she pad just passed. Xanko swerved, barely missing impact with a large air taxi. He darted downwards, dodging wave after wave of traffic lines, as he relentlessely headed for the cubed building. Dodging to oncoming cars, Xanko made it beneath the lowest line of traffic in his way, and finally had a clear view of the cubed building. He caught a glimpse of Sam's speeder, it was a fair way infront of the building now.... Xanko instinctively reved his throttle, the speeder bike shooting forwards again. A light bleeping sound suddenly occured in his helmet. 5 synchronised red lights followed. His told Xanko that some-one was trying to get into his ship. Xanko smirked, they would soon be dead. Xanko now spoke into his microphone, which allowed his to give verbal commands to his ship. Xanko: Take off...... flight pattern 3. Disperse seismic bombs at 60 feet. An instant after Xanko had spoken the command into his microphone, the lights on the Scorpion lit up, and the engines ignited. The small search party made of space port employees sent to check the ship stood in shock..... they would be roasted if they didn't get out of the way. The employees ran through the hatchway of she docking bay, just as the Scorpion lifted itself off the ground with great speed, heading directly upwards. At exactly 65 feet on the ships altitude reader, a small clamp-like device in-between, and above it's main thrusters flipped opened, and a small, cylinder shaped device was released, free falling towards the space port. Within seconds, it hit the floor of the bay the Scorpion had just taken off from. The red light on it's side shot off, as it exploded, a huge seismic pulse ripping outwards, tearing the docking bay apart. All buildings, ships, and people were demimated, as the seismix wave ripped whatever it touched into pieces. Meanwhile, Xanko had managed to catch upto Sam quite a bit, and he continued his relentless chase, determined to get back the 100,000 credits that were taken from him.
Queen Asuka
Jessica stood completely still in the shower, letting the hot water spray her and she sighed gently. She was tired of living alone and not having anyone to talk to. She began to wash her hair and she glanced down at the knife still strapped to her thigh. She wondered why she even needed it, seeing as how she was never really attacked in her home. She didn't believe that anyone even knew she existed. She rinsed the soap from her hair and body and turned off the water. She stepped out of the shower and wrapped a soft white towel around her. She walked into her bedroom, a room done completely in white. Jessica believed that white was the color of purity and innocence, something she felt she lost when she was a mere child. She only wore white, feeling that it made her more clean looking. She dressed in a white gown and went and opened her balcony. She stood upon it, looking out into the city around her, the breeze blowing her wet hair. As she stood there contemplating, she felt a wave in the Force. Something didn't feel quite right. She looked around her house and shuddered. She grabbed up her lightsaber and went over to her bed, closing the door behind her to the balcony. She layed down in her bed and set herself into a light sleep, keeping herself alert. Something told her to visit the Jedi Counsil as soon as the morning dawned.
Warlock
Kyle sat back in the seat of the Air Taxi as it floated over to the Jedi Temple, keeping his eyes closed and his right hand on his forehead... Just seconds ago he had felt various presences in the Force just cease to exist... Somewhere on the planet of Coruscant, something had happened... Slowly opening his eyes, he glanced out the window as the Air Taxi began to land on one of the docking pads on the lower levels... He threw the driver a few credits, then stepped out of the Taxi... And as the Taxi lifted off, Kyle caught a quick view of a speeder bike speeding through the lower levels of Coruscant, the occupant wearing some kind of armour... And as the speeder bike disappeared, Kyle turned around, walking along a pathway to the Jedi Temple... Even though there was still a few hours until dawn, many Jedi padawans and their trainers occupied the lower levels of the Temple, each going through some level of meditation, letting their acceptance in the Force grow... Kyle gazed down on the Meditation Chamber from a set of catwalks above, letting him watch the progress of the padawans... Thinking back to his padawans days, Kyle began to walk along the catwalk, his boots making a slight 'clink' as he walked... He reached the door at the end of the catwalk, stepping into a grey elevator... He pushed a button on the console, and the elevator began to lift up into the air... First stop, the Jedi Counsel...

Justin
Greygg flew through hyperspace in his modified TIE-Advanced. He still had a day or two before he arrived at Nal Hutta so he emersed himself in deep meditation. In this state he was able to sort the confusion of life. Greygg had always lived by an ancient proverb which he had tatooed in an ancient language on his upper-arm: In light there is security. In darkness there is safe passage. In rage there is vulnerability. In calm, invincibility. In life there is confusion. In meditation, time to sort it. In pain there is pleasure. In pleasure there is loss of self. Yoda
Xanko had caught up significantly to his prey. His speeder bike was a lot faster than the Imperial model; he had enhanced the speed greatly, but sacrificed the laser cannons and shields on the speeder. Sam was dodging through the busy traffic, barely avoiding collisions with other vehicles. Xanko, only about 15 feet behind, seemed to glide effortlessly among the busy airways, catching Sam?s speeder up quite quickly. Sam glanced behind her, checking how far behind Xanko was. She was astounded, when she saw him such a short distance away. Turning back, she barely managed to swerve away from an oncoming speeder. This had slowed her down significantly; Xanko picked up on this instantly, revving the throttle of his speeder, he accelerated immensely, dipping under the speeder Sam had barely managed to avoid, and pulled up again right alongside her. Sam glanced over her shoulder, a look of absolute terror spread over her face, as she saw Xanko glaring back at her, side-by-side, through his T-shaped visor. The harsh gaze of his eyes seemed to penetrate Sam?s soul. He continued to look at her relentlessly, still managing to dodge all the traffic with the bare minimum of effort. Sam however, found she continuously had to glance back and forth, she knew her life was in jeopardy, whichever way she looked. If she kept her eyes on the traffic, no it wouldn?t take Xanko long to blast her out of the skies? but if she kept her eyes on Xanko, then she could easily plow into the oncoming traffic. Before she had time to properly decide, Xanko had already drawn out his X-5 blaster. Pointing it directly towards Sam?s ship, he fired a single shot. It struck Sam?s engines? cooling pack, freezing the engine totally. Another shot hit the ice, shattering it, and tearing off one side of the speeder as it went. Sam?s ship started spinning frenziedly, hurtling towards the ground. Xanko reacted to this instantly, dipping his speeder into a nose dive, heading straight for Sam?s speeder. Sam, meanwhile, was proceeding to boot the glass from her windscreen, desperately trying to escape. Only know she realized what a mistake she had made. She had always disputed whether the Fetts were as good as they had been made out, whether they were ?The Ultimate bounty hunters??.. Now, she had no doubts at all. She had always held her own skills in such high prestige, and yet she had been beaten so easily. With one final hard kick, the already shattered glass was ripped from the rest of the ship, and Sam leapt out, preying she would land safely on the floor. Xanko noticed her jump, and knew she would have his credits on her; she wouldn?t leave them on the ship if there was a chance of her surviving. Xanko extended his left arm, and released his tow cable. Anticipating Sam?s fall perfectly, the cable caught, and wrapped around her leg. The speeder lurched downwards suddenly with the added weight, falling a good 15 feet before it got used to the added weight. Xanko slowly descended, placing Sam gently on the ground. As soon as she had orientated herself, she drew a knife, and slashed the cable in two. She then flipped up to her feet, and drew her blaster? she wasn?t going down without a fight. It didn?t take Xanko long to notice her, and even shorter a time to react. He flipped straight off his speeder bike, allowing it to crash to the ground. Luckily, the bike sustained very minor damage. Before he had hit the ground, he had drawn his lightsabre, a strong yellow blade protruding from the handle. Sam started to blast furiously at Xanko, as he effortlessly and fluently deflected every blast. Much to Sam?s surprise, Xanko suddenly launched forward, powered by his jetpack. In mere seconds he had reached the astounded Sam, and, cutting off his jetpack as he passed by her, he turned, and in one swift stroke, removed both of her legs from the rest of her body. Sam instantly collapsed to the floor, screaming in agony. Xanko was still being thrown forward by the force the jetpack had given him. Crashing to the floor, he judo rolled forward, steadying himself with his knee. Getting back to his feet, he disengaged his sabre, and clipped it to a special section of his belt. Then, he drew the blaster from the holster on his right leg, and moved towards Sam, pointing the blaster straight at her head. Xanko: Give me my credits. Sam: Why?? why should I? Xanko said nothing; he just simply stepped back, and shot Sam in the open flesh wound in her right leg. She yelled in severe torture. Xanko stepped forward again, pointing the blaster towards her head once again. Xanko: Give me my credits. Xanko, regardless of how angry he was inside, still spoke in his usual, emotionless voice. Sam: F-fine?. Take them. Sam slowly reached inside a pouch on her blood stained belt, and drew a show sized bag out. She tossed the bag to Xanko, who put them in a compartment on his sash. Then, he turned, and began to walk back towards his speeder. Sam struggled to sit up, in frustration. Sam: W-wait?? you?.. you can?t j-just leave me here! Xanko stopped dead for a moment, then turned, and walked a few paces back towards Sam. He looked down at her blankly for a few seconds. Xanko: Fine?? let me help you. Xanko flicked his blaster round in his hand, before pointing it straight at Sam?s head. A look of horror spread across her face as a laser bolt launched straight through the front of her head. Blood spurted out of the wound, and poured out of her mouth, as she fell backwards, eyes turned upwards into her head. Again, Xanko turned, and headed back to his speeder. Touching a pressure sensitive pad on his gloved hand, the microphone that directly connected to his ship shot out in front of his mouth. Xanko: Stationary position, 1500 feet, directly above my position. Responding instantly, the Scorpion suddenly appeared from behind one of the larger sky-scrapers, and stopped dead, directly over Xanko, one mile in the air. Xanko had predicted it perfectly; Scorpion was in between two traffic lines, avoiding all traffic from both lines. If Xanko had predicted it wrongly, then Scorpion would have stopped directly in line of a stream of continuous traffic. Xanko climbed back onto his speeder bike, and started up the ignition. He shot upwards completely vertically, heading directly for his ship. Xanko: Open hatchway, 8 seconds. Once again, Xanko had timed it perfectly. Just as he arrived at Scorpion, the hatchway under the main body opened, and Xanko shot in, into his cargo hold. He cut the ignition of his speeder, and climbed off. His cargo hold smelt clean, sterilized, something that Xanko took great pride in. Most of the bounty hunters ships stank of their previous hard merchandises. Xanko?s was one of few that was hospitable, smell wise. Xanko climbed the ladder of his ship, and walked through the open doorway into his cockpit. He sat down in his chair, which was bolted to the floor, and swiveled round, facing his controls. He tapped in a few commands, and Scorpions thrusters suddenly exploded with a bright red flame, launching upwards, straight through all the traffic line in his way, without hitting another vehicle. Within seconds, he had broken into real space, and was orbiting Coruscant. Xanko: I wonder if there are any protection jobs on Coruscant right now?.. Surely some politicians could one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. Xanko swiveled his chair, facing the left of his cockpit. He punched in a few keys, and suddenly, a list of all the politicians on or near the Coruscant system appeared on a screen above him. Carefully, he scanned the list, and suddenly, one caught his attention. Xanko: Ah, this one looks interesting. Aba Oosed, an idealist it seems, very popular among the left wings of the senate? I?m sure he would welcome some guaranteed protection. Xanko altered the trajectory of his orbit, so that he would be able to enter the planets atmosphere near the important republic buildings. The thrusters of Scorpion again kicked in, as it started to speed up.

Yoda
Xanko?s visor routinely started to alter, to suit the lack of light. Altering to a heat seeking vision, everything in space now became varying shades of red. Stars were a blinding red? almost white, through the extreme heat they were letting off. Other ships also stood as bright red glows among the dim of space. Through every ship Xanko passed, he pulled up the information on the ship from Scorpion?s data banks. None were all that interesting, most were cargo freighters, there were one or two Parliamentary cruisers, but no-one who posed any kind of threat to him. It wasn?t surprising? there were very few good bounties in this part of the galaxy, being so close to the Jedi temple and the galactic senate; most people daren?t put a foot wrong. The only reason Xanko had come in this far, is because he was chasing Sam to get his credits back. She mad been in a meeting with him and Boba Fett, and was pleading that they didn?t take her hard merchandise from her, because she really needed the money for him. When they both said she had no choice in the matter, she had stolen Xanko?s bag of credits, which he always carried round with him for emergencies, and fled to her ship. Xanko had put a tracer on her ship, and followed her deep into the centre of the galaxy, to Coruscant. Boba was probably getting the bounty for the hard merchandise right now? soon enough Xanko?s account would gain a good few more credits for his pile. Xanko suddenly noticed his ship was entering the atmosphere of Coruscant once again? he must be entering somewhere near the senate?s building. He already had the address of Aba Oosed in his memory banks, he had got it up shortly after he left the planet. He knew, regardless of the Ithor?s popularity, that he was wanted dead by many of the right wing extremists in the galaxy. Scorpion broke through the atmosphere back into Coruscant, his visor adjusting to its usual view. He found himself directly above the huge hotel block that Aba lived in. Scorpion was much more accurate than Xanko gave it credit for. As with most top of the line apartment blocks, this one had a small hanger for star ships. Xanko slowly brought Scorpion into a long, vertical launch tube. Bright Neon lights Flashed upwards through it, helping to guide ships up when it was dark. Slowly, Scorpion descended further, the reverse thrusters getting ever stronger, making the ship steadily decelerate. Soon, he had reached the bottom of the launch tube, and was now in a long hanger, a few ships were dotted about here and there??. It was surprisingly empty. Xanko landed near the entrance to the launch tube, and prepared to pay a visit to Aba Oosed.

Riding an elevator down from the consel level, Kyle pondered the reason why someone would want to go after the Twi'lek senator... Sighing, Kyle waited until the elevator stopped, then stepped out, into a large docking bay of sorts... Spread around the bay were starfighters and air cars, all powered by repulser lifts... He walked over to a nearby car, one of the public ones for all the Jedi, and jumped over to the driver's seat, starting the car up with a flick of a button... It lifted into the air, and Kyle manuvered it out of the bay with ease, dodging everything in the way... The car leaped out of the bay, quickly pulling up higher into the air, towards the nearest traffic line above... He quickly found a gap in the line, and after accelerating popped into place, quickly slowing down to match the speed of the traffic... Sitting back, Kyle calmly steered the car as it glided along with the traffic, only changing his direction when he quickly cut out of the line, decending upon a large hotel block to where the Twi'lek Sulara Gen lived, among another senators and aids of the Galatic Senate... Quickly finding a small bay for air cars only, Kyle brought the car in, landing on a small platform... He turned off the engine, and jumped out of the car, onto a series of catwalks connecting all the platforms with each other... Making sure his lightsabre was still secure under his robe, he set off into the hotel... As the elevator Kyle was in came to a stop, he immediately felt a strange presence on the same level... Putting his hand into his robes and pulling out his lightsabre, he stepped out as the door slid open... He began to jog along the hallway, passing many steel doors, when the lights all around went off... Now in total darkness, Kyle quickly flicked his lightsabre on, a grey hue now radiation from the lightsabre... He closed his eyes, seeking out what could be disturbing the problem... It was then he felt a flicker of distress on the other side of the level... He broke into an all out run, hearing the distant sound of a blaster going off... He just hoped he could get to the other side of the level to help...
Yoda
Xanko walked along the hallway in the hotel. Suddenly, he felt a strange presence, a few floors directly below him. Normally this wouldn't have bothered him, if it was after him then he was confident enough that he could kill it...... but now there was a chance that this being could keep him from making a profit on Aba Oosed, if it was here to kill him. Xanko also felt another presence, this one was defintely a Jedi, and was making his way towards the being. Xanko pointed his left gauntlet at the floor, and, using the blaster in his gauntlet, he shot a large hole through the floor, then through the floor below. Without another thought, he dropped through the hole, landing directly infront of the Jedi. The young Jedi stred at him for a moment.... he was definately a bounty hunter, there was no question about that...... but he didn't seem to be after Sulara. Never the less, Kyle was cautious. Kyle: Why are you here? Xanko: I think that's my own business. Kyle: Are you after Sulara? Xanko: Sulara Gen? No... Kyle: Then why did you just blast your way to this level? Xanko: I feel a presence..... no doubt you feel it to... and it could be after a potential client, I'm here to make sure it doesn't. Kyle nodded, he knew, that this mysterious figure, with the emotionless voice, and mandalorian armour spoke genuinly. Kyle then started running again, beckoning Xanko to follow. Xanko unclipped his jetpack, it was almost useles in this confined space, and would only slow him. It dropped to the floor with a thud, and he started to run after Kye, following him towards the room.
James
The Sith Infiltrator sat on the reddish sand of Byss, just outside a large cave complex. A soft red light was eminating from the mouth of the cave, where voices could be heard inside. Two dark figures stood next to one another. One was slightly shorter and more frail; he stood, hunched over slightly, gripping a walking stick in his left hand. Standing next to him was a taller figure, wearing a long, black cloak and a hood which covered his face in shadow. The small figure turned to the taller one... Palpatine: I hope all is going well, Sune... Vin-Mar: I have already acquired several targets on Coruscant. But master, do you think they will easily bend to our wishes? Palpatine: The New Republic's position is precarious at best. They are still as full of corruption as they ever were. Politicians are the weakest form of life... Palpatine made his way slowly across the room and sat down in a tall-backed black chair. His eyes were glowing softly from underneath his black hood. Palpatine: I am aware that the New Republic has in its posession a powerful starship... Vin-Mar: Yes, master...a Super Star Destroyer from the graveyard on Tatooine. Palpatine: Indeed. Quite a strange move for the New Republic to make, especially given the fact that the new Supreme Chancellor is not the most backboned man in the galaxy... Vin-Mar: Ahh yes, but the New Republic was formed from remnants of the Rebel Alliance...they were a brave group of people... Palpatine: They mananged to win only through luck. The force was on their side. But no more... Vin-Mar: What are your plans, master? Palpatine stood up and paced back and forth thoughtfully. Palpatine: I believe that there are many senators within the New Republic who are afraid. I can sense their fear... Vin-Mar: Afraid? Palpatine: Yes. There are still many Imperial factions remaining in the galaxy. The New Republic still does not have complete control... Palpatine eyed Vin-Mar and continued to pace. Palpatine: And that is precisely how we shall rise again, my apprentice. The Jedi are still weak and vulnerable. They can feel a dark presence, but now they are too preoccupied with the reconstruction of the Galactic Republic. They do not understand their feelings; they do not realize that what they feel is actually the presence of the dark side of the force... Vin-Mar: We can use that to our advantage... Palpatine: Indeed. Their politicians are so busy giving speeches and worrying about elections that they have no time to see that they are being swayed by dark forces. I wish to travel to Coruscant, Vin-Mar. I wish to be there to cast doubt in their minds... Vin-Mar: Isn't that risky, master? Palpatine: No. They will not catch me. They are not even looking for me. I will continue to fuel the corruption in the senate and then you, my apprentice, will step in and provide some truly solid political leadership. All in preparation for something on a much wider scale...
BabyGirl
I just have quick question for James...who exactly IS the President of the New Republic now? Traditionally (or so the books say :p) it was Mon Mothma...but I sort of would like a name of the President so that I am able to use it. Thanks :) ____________________________ Dria surveyed the red blips that symbolized the approaching Radical ships. At least they were approaching from behind, which gave her plenty of time to get a head start. Dria: See-so, how far away is that squadron? See-so: [translation] Approximately 24 kilometers. Dria: Good. Speed? See-so: 1,000 kilometers per hour. Dria: Rather slow fighters they have thrown together, but at least it'll give me ample time. See-so, we're going to touch down for no more than two minutes while I gather up some of our communications equipment. After two minutes, we're taking off. The Radicals should reach us by then, but I'll be able to easily outrun them. 1,700 ground speed as compared to their 1,000... Dria broke off and smiled a bit. Her F-Star was damn fast. She'd have no trouble outrunning ?or outmanuvering, since a good pilot never relied on speed alone? the vicious new Hapin group. Dria: See-so, set a course for the nearest planet, Imperial or otherwise. I just want to enter atmosphere and then plot out a course of several hyperspace jumps to Coruscant. Once I'm there I'll be rather hard to find. See-so acknowledged her request with a beep, getting to work on constructing a worthy destination.
