Kent Posted May 26, 2002 Share Posted May 26, 2002 my fav. gundam series. 0083. i was watching it before adult swim and i will be watching it after. but, i hadnt gotten to see the whole series until adult swim took it on. now, i just wanted to ask if anyone found the ending to be anti-climatic? i was waiting for the big battle and even though there were battles between gato and uroki, there just wasnt that big final fight. ensign shirow uroki didnt even get to keep his job as a feddy pilot. its truly my fav. of all gundams, but after that ending... i just dont know. was anyone else let down? I don't know is the good/bad guys, Uraki had lots mood swings, and they didn't even tell us who the hel! Uraki was firing at the last time we saw Unit 3. I really think Cartoon Network shouldn't have edited the show so much, since there was numberous parts that they cut out, i.e. the core fighter Nina was in when she went after Gato... after they escaped you only see the cockpit of the fighter....... what happened to the rest of it?!? Kent Posted May 27, 2002 Author Share Posted May 27, 2002 i hear ya. i had a hard time with it to a certain extent. most of the stuff about mood swings and relationships was there for a more "dramatic" story and just help with charector devolpment. i think uraki was aiming at the feddy weapon in the distance and thats why he lost his position. i may be wrong though. just cause its my fav. gundam doesnt mean i know everything about it. some body please clear all this up. or atleast who uraki was shooting at. Emma Posted May 31, 2002 Share Posted May 31, 2002 The last battle of 0083 is a little bit confusing. There are more than just the 2 parties, EF and Dalaz Fleet fighting here. Here is what happens... EF was fighting against the Dalaz Fleet to try to stop the drop of the colony. Then, Cima joined EF to fight against the Dalaz Fleet. Uraki was kind of confused, so he shot at Cima. Cima returned fire and she was killed by Uraki. Then, Gato landed in the colony to adjust the destination. Uraki followed and found Nina there. After some more shouting and shooting, they all left the colony to find out that EF was going to use the Colony Cannon to take down the colony. Even with the firing of the Colony Cannon, EF could not stop the colony from reaching Earth. Coming out the the big blast and the wreck of Dendrobium, Uraki simply shot his cannon out of anger, not aiming at anything at all. Gato went for another wave of attack but the Axis Fleet had to shoot them down in request of the EF. The Axis Zeon could not afford another war with EF. They would rather spend the lives of Dalaz Fleet in exchange for some more time. As for a group of power hunger officers in EF, they used the incident of Operation Stardust as reason to form the Titans, the "villian" in Zeta Gundam. (late night partys sure are fun) I missed several eps. so I quit watching. The ones I did see where great. I think the best endind so far was on 8th MS TEAM. I especially like the fact that they never found the main charactor, he just lived, and nobody knew. Don't you thimk he should/would have told Sanders and the rest of them he was alive. Eh, whatever it doesn't matter. On too 0083, no I don't think the ending was dissapointing as much as it was confusing. Hey, anyway like you said CN didn't show it and I inky saw the CN version of that series. Hence, I didn't know that. Anyway, let's get back to the topic at hand, 0083's ending. I compared the sub to CN's dub version, and I have to say, although they didn't edit it to much, they screwed around with the storyline too much. I love his drawings and models so I used one in my banner. He has several High poly 3d Gundams too. I will post the link to his sight in my sig soon, when I do go check it out. You will be amazed. I promise. Anyway. I had no idea theres a different ending then what CN showed (well not different but stuff they cut out) I will have to purchase the rest of the 08th team dvds now. Yes 08th team had an awesome ending, one of the best I have seen in my opinion. I have not seen the ending of 0083 but I have read some about the events that take place.
