Thats right my friends, for those of us that have an XBOX, we wait until 2004 to get GTA 3, not including GTA 4 or anything higher, this is a major bummer for me, I have played the PS2 version and its awesome

Well, it's not Microsoft's fault that the game isn't coming out for quite a while. They didn't make Grand Theft Auto III, now did they?

The Xbox might not be doing so well, but I think your post is pretty rude to those who have already purchased an Xbox.

Remember, if you had shelled out so much money for a console, you'd want to see some good games on it. Xbox owners have had to suffer through some pretty poor games already, but I'm sure that they don't want the system to bomb...if anything, some of the newer games announced at E3 look promising.

Let's try and keep the petty console-rivalries out of the forums, shall we?

Yes please do, I have an XBOX, and the only game that is a solid good game so far that I've seen is Halo. But thats not going to be true, the end of this year and the beginning of the next year. They are coming with some really nice titles out. Like Brute Force, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, [If you think that its just going to be the same old, it really isn't.] There is also Star Wars: Old Knights of the Old Republic, and Blinx: The Time Sweeper. Which I want very badly, it is going ot be the only Adventure game that looks worth buying.

So as I said, you may see XBOX now on a downfall, but don't think so fast there. Give it until summer of next year, it will have some really solid titles. I mean sure, it had a rough start, but its doing pretty well. So don't be dissing it, its a pretty good console, or will be.

Yeah, i got GTA3 for the pc and the damn thing didnt work, not even on my brand new PC! The best thing about that version though is that you can change the main characters face, and put your own music onto the radio, MP3 radio was its name. Lets just hope its the same for the xbox version!

I was hopeing that the X-Box version was going to be like that... oh well. I, myself, was really looking forward to GTA3 on X-Box, but since this apparently won't happen for a long time i think i will buy a PS2, not only for Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, but also for SOCOM: US Navy SEALs. Sony and Rockstar's plan has worked on me... oh well, at least it's only 200 bucks now, i can afford it! I am completely comfident in my X-box, with all the great games Hybrid has listed, but i need to add Unreal Championship to the list, this one is what has me the most excited (For X-Box mind you), i just wish i didn't have to wait untill it came out.

For the computer problem, do you have XP? If so then that's why it probably won't work. You need to download a patch that fixes all the bugs on XP. Anyway I have a PS2 so I don't have to worry about the X-box version (I already have GTA3 heh!).

Yeah, those are probably the much better games. They didn't really do much to improve the PC version rather than add a couple new features such as MP3 playback, as previously mentioned and a second-rate replay option...as well as the cleaner textures and higher resolution. But you'll need one heck of a system to be able to play it...anything below GeForce 3 makes the PS2 version a better alternative. Though I think the X-box is more than capable...2004 seems a long, long way off...I don't think GTA3 would be much profitiable with it out so long...

Making out? I thought it was just the hooker and the guy just rocking the car, literally. Though I don't see why people have to wait two more years aside from the fact that it's being targeted by the censorship people and they need to make some serious alterations to the game...maybe improving it? Though I think it's already good as it is with improved textures, faster load times and more features with the X-box ability to store music.

This wait until 2004 for GTA3 casts a big problem for the xbox, gamers may get frustrated about waiting and will just splash out 200 for a ps2 to avoid the whole hassle. Not only that, but rockstars next GTA game is soon to come on the ps2, and this will definately give the xbox a bad rep, unless they release both games at the same time. Xbox is in a tight squeeze, Id like to know how theyll break free, a surprise maybe? well it better be good!!!....:flaming:

GTA 10 would be out by then!!! Where on earth did you hear this? If that was the case then xbox would lose so much money launching an old game when a new sequel can be launched, surely the next gta game will be out by then, maybe more, who knows what the future will bring....

XBOX, unfortionatly, has had a very bad rap on it's noodle, since it overall pales to the PS2, and is generally even with the GCN.

Sadly, the reputation the XBOX has accumulated will turn more and more gamers to the PS2 and GCN. But let's face it; XBOX hasn't done exactly spectacular. On the contrary, the titles on XBOX are either later versions of PS2 or GCN, whereas other systems come out with more unique games.

But, out of all the game systems in the world, the PSX ownz j00 all. I mean, 7 (Close to 8) years in America alone, and it's done better than most systems could dream to do.

The X Box may not be doing so well, but with Microsoft's massive purse behind it, I doubt it will die any time soon. Besides, with games like Splinter Cell, Dead to Rights, Halo 2, Knights of the Old Republic, and all those other new games comming out, I bet it will be kickin around for a while.

Plus, you can always spring for the PC versions.

Normally I would agree with you, but as I learned with GTA3 and how my video card is 2 MBs too small. So, that's not necessarily the best option...

Pretty much the same problem with me SuperSayian, the specs for the PC version seem to be very high, and much more advanced than your regular PC game. I purchased it last week, only to find that it didn't work due to a compulsary requirement called the "DirectX 8.0" sound card, which I didn't have.

I'm guessing that the xbox version will have a lot on stall for us, it would be great if online play was considered.

I can just imagine online GTA! 100s of people packed into the city blowing crap up left and right. My guess is the avaerage person would last 5 minutes before dieing.
Rockstar's ideas for GTA3 online wouldn't be that dramatic, lol. It could be considered that there will be a rampage mode, where players from across the globe go all out on each other, as you said :) . GTA3 online could happen, especially with the up growing nature of its popularity. However, violence isn't GTA's key factor, online play could involve the mini-games in which you took part in as a mission, or a hunt to get all the hidden packages before anyone else, there are thousands of possibilities.

As violent as the game is, I fear that there maybe some server bans, for being too bloody, take State of Emergency for example.
