The Vampire: Ed
Any one with a good imagination, and a love for RPGs will want to get this game. If you've played the first RPG Maker for the PSX then you'll know it wasn't an easy task to create your RPG. But it's said that RPG Maker 2 for the PS2 will be even more user friendly via the PS2's Keyboard.
Agetec will be bringing its Designer Series of games to the PlayStation 2. Agetec, the publisher of the Armored Core series, will be bringing a second rendition of its Designer Series of games to the PlayStation 2. The RPG Maker series gives players the opportunity to build their own turn-based combat RPG, with detailed controls for the scripting of events, monster encounters, and dialogue. RPG Maker 2 expands upon the first game by letting players delve into the creation of a fleshed-out, 3D fantasy world, with a more complex toolset than that available in the previous game. The new toolset includes character generators, background editors, special effects editors, text editors, and monster generators. RPG Maker 2 should also be much more user-friendly, with keyboard support through the PlayStation 2's USB port. "RPG Maker 2 gives players their first opportunity to prove themselves as 3D game designers," said Sullivan. "Using the power of the PS2 to back this truly unique title, RPG Maker offers everything players could need to bring their own fantasy gameworlds to life." RPG Maker 2 is currently scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2002. By Gerald Villoria
I'm sure any RPG fan will want this game, as long as they have the time and patients for it. Here are a couple screen shots of it below. The game gives the players the tools to create their own rpgs. I wasn't a huge fan of the last one, but I remember little art programs that allowed you to alter or make your own character sprite. Plus, you could make your own dungeons by picking pre-made pictures or pictures you created yourself. Heck, you could even write your own dialouge and configure stats to your liking. The game was even so customizable, that the player has the ability to determine how many experience points are handed out after defeating a particular monster. RicoTranzrig
Sounds really cool...that 8MB of memory'll come in handy...it'd be great if you could upload your maps and swap online.

Maybe its best if you make it, and someone else plays it, and vice versa.
Break
Yeah it's a really amazing program, and if you have some talent you can make things that companies would want to use for their professional games. :) Go to www.rmdownloads.com to download RPG Maker 2000 and games that people have made, some really are excellent.

The Vampire: Ed
Well, I most likely will be getting the game as well. I am just hoping I have enough patience for it, because I didn't have much for the first on before. That was mainly due to the switches, becauseI was confused on how to use them. I hope it will be simple this time.
Mist
Well, here's a *girl* who wants it. My friend had the first one, but I wasn't the way I am now back then, so I wasn't interested. I think I'll get it. when it's released...*walks off to Walmart* :D
Guest Kazuya Mishima
It comes as great news that we'll be seeing a more updated version of RPG maker, especially since it is now on the ps2. I owned the first one and I have to admit that it wasn't as I expected, hopefully we'll see a big change though. I guess that the main problem here is the players patience, I for one enjoyed every bit of developing my world on RPG maker, but was quite frankly dull, I see that this is something for the people at Agetec to think about. I had great difficulty playing without a keyboard.....I even tried plugging in my PC keyboard into the Playstation....only to find that there wasnt a slot for it, bah.
Mitch
Sounds great. I was interested in the first....but never got to it. In EGM last year they even had a contest to see who could make the best RPG with it!
