THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING! IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THING WITH SEXUAL CONTENT, VIOLENCE, ECT., GO AWAY FROM THIS THREAT!

Now on to the preview:

A few months ago, Z-Axis announced their last game under Acclaim publishment: Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3, which is coming to GC, PS2 and X-Box in Late Fall or early Winter. Okay, another game in a pretty nice series. However, a few days ago Acclaim released footage of this game, and it seems that Dave has been hanging too much with Conker. Many believed it a joke, but now it's a reality.

Welcome to the first M-Rated extreme sports game in history.

As you can see from the above pics, female characters can now be used (and also created). However, they aren't there just to do tricks and jump ramps. The main reson they are there is for something that begins with "fan" and ends with "service", but I'll get into that later.

From what this pic (and some videos) show me, the gameplay has been refined so it's faster. Also Z-Axis is promising 2000 moves in all for this one.

Enough about gameplay. What you want to hear is the controversial stuff.;)

When it comes to objetives ( a must in extreme games nowadays), this game milks it's M rating for all it's worth.
In one area a dog is doing "Number 2" in a park, and you have to stop him. How do you do that? By looking for you pimp friend, who tells you: "I'll go get my *****!". He comes back with his female dog, which you carry in a basket back to the "poopy dog". They do the bad thing and they go away. Weird, huh?

Your reward is money, which you can use to watch a stripper. Not in poligons, not in CGG, but in a DVD-quality video. The more you pay, the more she takes off. And yeah, she can get totally naked.

Other objectives have you killing people with a rifle (while riding), cleaning a pool by shooting a street cleaner with a flying water heater (and a huge one!), and of course, doing some gosh-darned tricks.

Oh, and the multiplayer games are the basic ones, with a few alterations (strip HORSE, anyone?).

Oh, and did I mentioned that Z-Axis are not going to censor anything in this game? In other words, don't play it near your parents, boys!

To end my longest post ever, I'll say 2 things:
"If this game doesn't get an AO rating, I'll be darned."
"How will I buy this game without any family member noticing it?"

I cannot be believing me eyes... A Stripper on a game, bwha! Incredible I want it. But they should have more games like it, with the nakeness. There is nothing wrong with nakeness especially for a woman

Dave Mirra XXX...what a load of crap.

Here are some possible reasons for this thread:

1) You made this up yourself.

2) You've read something fake on a site and taken it as though it is real (do you REALLY think they're going to have a REAL model stripping naked in a video game? And what on Earth does that have to do with BMX?)

3) If this is infact real (and much of it already sounds pretty suspect...), this would be just another example of a lousy, mediocre developer trying to make up for their absolute lack of talent by including some tittilation.

What an utter waste of time...maybe the 14 year old fanboys will appreciate any garbage that is thrown at them...but the day gamers at large actually embrace a game like this (if it's true), will be the day I totally lose faith in gaming altogether.

Hehe, James I hate to break it to you, but this info is all true. I really didn't believe it myself at first.

Like you mentioned, a lot of developers may try to make up for their shortcomings by throwing in M-Rated garbage just to get a good shock value to influence sales.

What really surprises me is that Z-axis isn't all the bad of a developer. The Dave Mirra series gives Activision's own Matt Hoffman's BMX a run for it's money.

Anyway, I went to Gamespot and it says:
The game also features goals like helping a fireman with his limp hose, stopping a stray dog from crapping in the park, stopping a helmet-wearing slow kid from peeing in a pool, and collecting beer cans for a bum.

So, his story checks out. I'm kinda pissed though. Why the hell do make a game primarily aimed towards teens, into an M-Rated crap-fest?

Also, check this out:
Completing goals earns money, which you can take to the famous strip club, Scores. Spending money here unlocks FMVs of women in various states of undress. Acclaim representatives were unsure if the nudity in these scenes would end up running blurred or totally uncensored. Judging by the nonstop cursing and nudity that will permeate the rest of the game, you can bet that Acclaim will make an attempt to go all out and show as much skin as possible.
I'm a big fan of the extreme sports genre, so I hope that this game doesn't influence the Tony Hawk series. Tony Hawk's games always have juvenile humor, but never cross the line like this.

lol, Don't get me wrong, looking a naked women is all fine and good, but that stuff doesn't belong in a game that a lot of twelve and thirteen year old kids might buy. My guess is that they're doing this because their series can never live up to Activision's in reputation, so they're attempting to give the people something to talk about.

Like cwb said, tony hawks 3 does contain many juvenille humour, and a lot more than dave mirras bmx. Activision just want to make dm as hardcore as tony hawks, but in its own way.

A little contest of originality.

James (and people with a similar opinion), when did you become a puritan?

If there wasn't any M-Rated stuff, you would be okay with it; but since there's nudity and sexual situations, you quickly take out the torch and bash the game without even trying it.

Z-Axis has proven themselves already with the previous games, and they are wise when it comes to gameplay.

Sorry if this sounds like a flame, but I just can't stand people who bash M-Rated games without even trying them (the same goes for E-Rating bashers).

Smokey Joe, it's not the fact that we dislike M-Rated games. I'm a big fan of a lot of M-Rated games, if they're executed properly.

However, the fact that this type of game has the kind of content that it does, is a little nonsensical.

When I read about the content of the game, it immediately hit me that Z-Axis has given up on trying to outdo Tony Hawk through gameplay mechanics and is trying to sell their games through questionable content. All in all, this is just another developer copying off of Grand Theft Auto III's success and trying to use it to elevate its own game; a game where nudity and cussing shouldn't really be, mind you. I hope that unlike some certain games out there, the adult content isn't used to make up for other shortcomings.

Think about the target audience of extreme sports, as well. There are going to be a lot of twelve and thirteen year old boys out there that will get this game, based on the sport alone. Why throw in strippers and such? I know they'll probably love it, but angry parents will find out and of course, this will be just more of a bad rap for the video game industry.

Furthermore, poking fun at mentally challenged children isn't something that I find too funny. :p

I would be much more satisfied if Z-axis remedied the problems in their last Dave Mirra game. Overall if was a fine alternative to Tony Hawk and was probably superior to Matt Hoffman).

I say, keep the M-Rated content where it belongs. Don't just senselessly use it to garner sales. It's the principle Smokey Joe, the principle, lol.

Okay, now I understand you. In your first post you sounded like Lieberman's best buddy (you do know who Lieberman is, right?).
However, there's one thing that annoys me: From now on, if a company wants to make an over-the-top game, everyone will point a finger and yell: "GTA III did that!"
If you're going to call it a copy, at least do it right! It's Conker, not GTA III!

Yeah, I do know who he is. I'm not a moron. :p

Anyway, it doesn't matter what game you "point your finger to."

The fact of the matter is, that Grand Theft Auto III for example, had violence that made sense. After all, you were playing as a criminal working his way through the gritty criminal underworld. The main character wasn't some guy busting tricks on a BMX.

Conker wasn't quite as adult-oriented as Grand Theft Auto III. Conker's Bad Fur Day mainly spoofed a lof of things and censored more vulgar language. It was still for older gamers, but it wasn't quite as adult-oriented as Grand Theft Auto III.

You're missing the point.

I like M-Rated games as much as the next person...I'm certainly not a "puritan". That's not the issue.

The issue is that game companies produce a mediocre product and simply think that lacing it with sex/violence will make the actual game better.

And basically, it won't.

This sounds to me like a classic example of a game company who has run out of gameplay ideas and concepts -- so they are now resorting to tittilation in order to sell the game.

And I hate that...because it proves a lack of imagination and effort on the part of the developer.

Any idiot can create toilet humor...but only a truly good game company can make an innovative game.

Well, like I said before, Z-Axis has proven themselves time after time with their previous games in the franchise, so I doubt the gameplay will be bad. In fact, judging from a few videos I've seen, the game appears to have faster gameplay and better grinding than the others (BMX 2's felt very magnetic).
Now my only concern is the controls...

I just feel that if Z-Axis were serious about this game, they'd drop a lot of the "cheap sales" stuff.

Why not spend time developing a great control system and awesome gameplay, rather than focusing on toilet humor and such?
