Kei
Well, you should really get a Geodude. Falkner uses Flying-type Pokémon, so that should give you an advantage. But buy lots of potions, because all his Pokémon know Mud-Slap. Here's his line-up. Pidgey Lv. 7 Tackle Gust Mud-Slap Pidgey Lv. 7 Tackle Gust Mud-Slap Pidgeotto Lv. 9 Tackle Gust Mud-Slap Hope this helps you. :ball:

Dragon Fou Lu
I would suggest a mareep those things can help in the first gym! :)
Char!
But you can't get any Mareep before the first gym, can you?
Dibi2004
not sure...i dont think the guy in the field will let u pass to get the mareep untill u beat falkner..but im not sure...lemme check and then i will post again :) Nope! i just checked and you cant get to the place to find mareep untill u beat falkner! Char!
Well I guess Geodude is you best bet then, but really any Pokémon can beat Falkner, as long as it's raised properly...
Dragon Fou Lu
hehe whoops my mistake! ( it's been a while since i was at the first gym so i don't remember the certain parts of the game! :p ) um...ok try a geodude
M. Son Gohan
Well.....another one you could get is Sentret and teach it mud slap. It won't exactly help on the first gym...but it came in handy for me! ^^ Especially when I taught it rollout for Whitney's gym.
Imp
You can't get Mareep until you beat Falkner. Try catching a Bellsprout and trading it for an Onix! Or you can use Gastly; they can put those birdies right to sleep! Or try using your Cyndaquil. You should battle in the Sprout Tower for practice. Fall
I agree on getting a Geodude...you'll find him handy throughout the game. Especially when you evolve him to Graveler....he's a great defence/attacking pokemon against fire and electric pokemon.
wolf masteres
well... i say to get sandshrew from a friend maybe... but geodude would be great! and train your cydaquill!! thats all i can offer. sorry!
Zero-Altron
Ok, everyone, I think she gets the idea, she should get a geodude. Ok, but other than a geodude, level up your current pokemon. You have to level 5's and a level 9, he has 2 level 7's and a level 9. Think about that. :smirk:
Allison Mack
What Game Version are you playing? Gold, Silver, or Crystal? Well, my advice is not to use an Unown. They only have one attack and the attack hardly does a thing unless you raise ATK and LV. I agree that you should level up your Pok'emon. Do you think that you could get even past the first and second persons in the Gym with those? Maybe if you were lucky, but try making Cyndaquil level.....11 or so? and Jiglypuff into about level......10, and Pidgey into level 11+.
tioxi
Don't you have to beat Falkner before you can get mudslap? Get a Beedrill, and use Fury Attack!
coolmon
Tioxi,Beedrill are weak to flying types,so that can't honestly help that much Now everybody, you guys aren't helping when you throw these kind of ideas at her(or him, think its her) Now these are probably the only pokemon that is in her reach RATATTA PIDGEY GEODUDE PHANPY(Crystal) WEEDLE CATERPIE SENTRET BELLSPROUT TEDDIURSA(Crysral, again) ZUBAT ONIX GROWLITHE GASTLY UNOWN
tioxi
No, Pokémon is weak if it is Properly Trained.
Desbreko
Well, if you level it way up, it could win, but I don't think she (he?) wants to sit around leveling for hours on end right at the beginning of the game... And you get the TM that teaches Mudslap from Falkner... So you obviously have to beat him before you can get it, unless you have a Pokémon learns it naturally.
Boo
I did: Wooper Cindaquil gastly onix (only for beating the gym)
Guest Goten_Dude
Get a Bellsprout the trade it for Onix Also Spearow is a good idea because it does more damage than a Pidgey can
Desbreko
Yeesh... this thread is over two weeks old... I'm pretty sure Dibi2004 has gotten past the first gym by now. Thread Closed
