well, the beginning of the game is awesome, it really capture's what d-day was like....

a lot of people say it was a blatent rip off of a similar scene in saving private ryan....

anywhooo, I bough Moh: allied assault yesterday and all I can say is it's awesome, better than frontline....

I think what frontline is really lacking though is a multiplayer option, thats what made previous games so great, especially allied assault....

I agree with Sephiroth; Allied Assault is definitely the better game.

Comparing the D-Day missions, you'll notice that the PS2 version captures the landing better, but the PC version's beach is much larger and captures the feeling of utter chaos.

Graphically, the PC version is much sharper as well, though it takes a pretty powerful PC to realize that (hugs PC).

Plus, like Seph said, the pc version has Multiplayer support. I'm a little surprised that Frontline didn't have a split screen multiplayer mode of some sort.

I haven't been through all of Frontline's levels, so it's hard to comment on level design, but judging from the structure of PC titles and the comparison between the only similar level between the twp versions (Omaha Beach), I'm willing to bet that the PC version has larger, more intricate level design.

You can't go wrong with either game though. Both have some of the best music recorded for a videogame, killer atmosphere and solid gameplay.

I own it as of this past Sunday. I've got to say it's a good, and the graphics are great. Unless of course if you've seen the PC's Medal of Honor Allied Assault, you won't be impressed any by it's graphics. They seem muddy at times, but overall the game is still fun. That's what counts, but if you're looking for multiplayer action as well as single player. Don't look to Medal of Honor Frontline, as it has no multiplayer at all. Like Crazy White Boy says the level lay outs seem to be far smaller levels, and they are a lot more intricate in the PC version. I say give it a try if you are a fan of first person shooters, especially if you like war themes.

I have yet to purchase, or play for that matter, this game, so I shouldn't really be saying much about it, but I will anyway. Visually, the game looks astounding. It is able to show what D-day was really like through this next generation console's graphics at their best. I have gotten many friends who know my gaming sense say that Medal of Honor: Frontline really captures stunning gameplay with a high fun factor, and that I should buy it. However, little things in Electronic Gaming Monthly's reviews held me back. For example, in one scene, when you are fighting alongside your comrades, you have an ally in front of you who is shooting one way, but his face is looking straight at you, like a cut and paste. I shudder to think of what other mitakes of this sort could have been accidently dropped throughout the game.

Personally, I'm not one for war-like games that display battles from the past, but I do agree that it would be more fun with a multiplayer option, like you say. It would add an atmosphere that raises fun factor, and gives you a gaming option where you can take a break from the same old, same old. But yeah, I suppose I should at least rent it before coming to such conclusions as these.

I have the game out right now on a rental...It's alright for PS2, the frame rate chugs during a battle scene or explosion, which can get a bit annoying. Though it does lack a multiplayer (and blood)...the graphics are incredible, especially the 1st mission and the missions are fun. I think the PS2 strengths are in the audio, which is encoded in Dolby surround...the music is great and the sounds really make up for what the visual realism lacks on the PS2.

What I don't like about the PS2 is the pad setup, looking with an analogue stick really doesn't do it for me, mouse and keyboard is easy to use, as you can turn quicker and so forth.

Also Allied assault has improved graphics (with a high spec PC of course) and better AI....

Other than that I agree with Seph, the first mission is recreated very well indeed.

Please don't go into a big mouse and keyboard vs pad argument though...

As far as first person shooters go, there really isn't much of an argument, heh heh.

To be fair, I do like the new control setup provided in Medal of Honor: Frontline. While it's not as efficient as a mouse and keyboard, it is slightly more efficient than the original layout.

The A.I. really isn't really too bad in this version though. Medal of Honor games are generally very good in terms of computer intelligence. The bad end of the stick, is that the enemies seem to die easier than in the PC or PSX versions.

The newly added scripted events such as bar fighting and the added carnage during the initial Omaha Beach landing are really nice touches that help seperate this from past Medal of Honor games.

I love the game... I love the whole damn series....

Although I agree, the multiplayer option would have been tons better. But they took that out and added an insane amount of levels in it.... It kinda pisses me off that the levels are long too. And then I die at the end and have to start my 20-30 minute level all over again....

I like the game play though... good stuff... The sound is probably the best aspect of the game.... As different as that may sound.... it gives it more of a realistic feeling.

The only flaw in realism I can see is that after the D-Day mission you become this one man army from that point on (actually, I'm not very far into it, so maybe it stops doing this after a while). Which isn't very realistic. One guy with a pistol against three rifle bearing Germans.. who wins? right.. the guy with the pistol. Though, admittedly, that's the kind of game I like :) so to hell with realism.
