Guest Matt
Originally posted by kool_aid13 That is why our parents won't let us download anything off the internet. I haven't downloaded any of the Bonzai Buddies, but I can imagine how annoying they can get (i think). I was going to a web site when suddenly, I'm attacked by a swarm of SPAM! GAH!! They would not go away! One of the messages was an advertisement for a Bonzai Buddie, but I just closed it, but when I did, another thing came up saying "You don't want to do that. Download it" or some other crap. It wouldn't let me close it, so I used the Ctrl Alt Delete to close it. Thank goodness it closed. I hate spam. I'll usually get so much that I'll have to close all the programs to stop it.
My parents really don't care what I download off the internet as long as it's not porn. Also, another thing to stay away from are those porno dialers. they are a b*tch to get rid off and hide all the evidence from. :D
Kinetic
Originally posted by Son Goten and another program to avoid is gator. it is good for remebering your passwords and crap, but it is too damn annoying and is loaded with spyware.
YES! Stay AWAY from this! God! That screwed up my computer drastically! It kept copying and pasting the icons on my desktop 1000's (yes, thousands) of times, and all other kinds of things. I can't remember how my dad got rid of it though. It took days. Amphion
I never downlaoded gator. but I installed something on my cmoputer that was supposed to spped up my connection. (bunch-o-s***) Gator came with it. It did not install but it put this little ad for it on my computer. Then when I was typing in passwords in this ugly gator would pop up and say, "I can make this easier" and say all other kinds of crap. I deleted the speed boost just to get rid of that stupid gator. Man, the things these companies come up with to sell there stuff. They are all idiots. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that you dont sell stuff by pissing other people off. Guest Raven131
I got Bonzi Buddy a long time ago and I thoughthe was kind of cute. Anyway I had to delete him because he was taking up too much room on my computer, but he never gave me any trouble with deleting him. Guess I'm just lucky for that. Roxie Faye
I know a lot of you probably have this, but please, I bew you, STAY AWAY FROM KAZAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What it does, every time you download a song, extra particles go into some of your files and attack it, and it screws up your comp. My friend had to reformat her computer and lost all her links in her bowser's favorites on ff.n becuase her borther had downloaded Kazaa. But, with Kazaa, I think I need help. ok, here's my story: You see, I downloaded Kazaa, and then my mouse started acting funny, and it would move properly, and my interent connection was slower than usual. Then, Luminaire told me to delete Kazaa becuase it would screw your comp. Well, uninstalled it and it still wouldn't work. We found there were some files Kazaa had attached itself to, which OF COURSE had to be in AOL. It wasn't the program itself, but a file in AOL. I tried deleting it, but it said that I couldn't and that the program may be in use. At this point, bear in mind, that my mouse is now just NOT WORKING AT ALL. I ahve not been able to delete those files. Here's the weird part: today, after re-starting the computer just about a million times, my mouse starts working fine. Well, sort of fine. I think it's a little fast but that may be because I cleaned it. Do you think it's because I cleaned it or is my comp screwing from kazaa going into another stage(first it was going slow, and now fast)? HELP!!!!!! *****Edit** Aww crap. my mouse just went haywire again. can someone help me with this Kazaa thingy and give me some other option than REFORMATING MY COMPUTER? GotenksSSJ343
OH MY GOD I almost got that thing on my computer. because one day my sister was downloading bonzi buddy while I outside. So when I was getting thirsty I walked throw the door to my room (my rooms in the basement) and I see a downloading box with 90% done. I said "What are you downloading?"" She says "Downloading the purple monkey." And pointed at the laughing thing I said "Move I'll make it go faster." And I canceled the downloading at the last minute and then in a fake sad tone I said " The computer stopped downloading it but will get it on moms computer.":naughty: Like nothing happened she said "Ok." Now my moms pissed at me for having to listen to that dancing monkey yap all day. But hey at least it's not me. :)
Fall
Originally posted by BabyGirl That happened to me with some porn thing once. To make a long story short, I suddenly had a porn icon on my desktop and I couldn't get rid of it. I was about to throw my entire computer out the window for fear of my parents seeing it, but I finally deleted/unistalled it...or whatever I did to actually get rid of it. Gave me quite a scare :)
lol, that happened to me aswell....luckily, my parents thought it was some sort of game, and never clicked on it. :drunk: It said "xXx", and for the icon it had "xXx".....lol. Jeebs
I hate popups.:flaming: They're on just about every site. I think that I've had Comet before, but I don't think I had any problems with it. And I think that I've seen the Bonzi Buddy before, but I didn't download it. But there's this box that pops up when I'm on the internet (and sometimes when I'm not) that says that I've performed an illegal opperation when I didn't do anything wrong. If I close it it cuts me off line. If I go to details it shows a bunch of numbers and letters that I don't think anyone would understand.:confuse2: Eventually I just started to move it out of the way, but sometimes my computer would mess up. My brother reformatted the computer and it hasn't happened in a while (except for about a day or 2 ago).

Well, it's no problem if you don't have AOL except for the SpyWare, I.e., they can get your parents' credit card numbers if they buy something online and any other personal information... and to uninstall KaZaA completely, go into your C:\Program Files\ and you should see a folder called 'KaZaA' move it to recycle bin, then go into your Start\Programs\ and move the KaZaA thing to the recycle bin, Go to Start\Find search for KaZaA, delete any other Kazaa files. empty recycle bin... now, go to Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disc Defragmenter. This will delete anything you erased from the recycle bin forever. Bonzi Buddy = ****. He crashed my computer... he messed up my friend's moniter, and he slows the computer down after you've had him for a while. He's nothing but a purple monkey virus. My advice is to delete him before he causes any real harm. About the mouse problem, KaZaA takes up a lot of system resources, as does Music Match JukeBox, and a few other programs. Only way to fix that is to close them and the mouse will be good again. If you still have trouble, go to My Computer\Control Panel\Mouse and edit your mouse preferences there. Hope that helps any.
