I hated this movie since I saw the preview :p I think it's gonna be awful, and is an example of what the DBZ movie will be like.

*repeat spoiler*

You DO know that if you are going to have spoilers about movies or whatever in this forum you need to put it in the title, right? Because you didn't do that.

You people need to stop trashing the movie, I saw it and I thought it was hilarious! :p I mean, if you like the cartoon, you are going to like the movie. Everyone played their roles really well, especially Shaggy and Scooby (even though he's a computer animation, lol). I mean, as much as I thought this movie would be bad because of Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar being in it, I thought it was done really well. It is a little modernized but that is to be expected cause they don't have set back in the 70's like the cartoon, so it works out. I mean, Matthew Lilliard, who played Shaggy, in order to get his voice to sound like Shaggy's he screamed constantly until his voice became scratchy like Shaggy's, and he actually ended up with laryngitis, lol. Now that's dedication to your role. The movie is not that long, but it didn't really interfere with the story line in having it crammed into a small time slot. Everything ran really smoothly. The only part I didn't like about the movie were the enuendos about Shaggy being a pothead. I despise those people that accuse him of that. I can disprove all accusations. For example, always having the munchies: Have you seen how skinny the guy is? He has a high metabolism! So he is going to be hungry more often and want to eat a lot. :p And Scooby is just a dog, and will eat anything at any amount, lol.

Anyway, I say if you liked the cartoon you will like the movie. And if you like the movie then FYI, it is already signed for a sequel. Hopefully they can make that just as good.

By the way, I'm disappointed that you people already told who the 'bad guy' is. I mean, ESPECIALLY since you didn't put in the title that there would be spoilers in here, it is really going to ruin it for those who wanted to see it and not have it be ruined. If I already hadn't seen I would really be biting your head off right now for giving it away. I mean, it's just like back in the Star Wars days, if someone saw them before you and posted the Darth Vader is Luke's father. You could imagine you'd be really irritated.

Hmm...the previews were okay I guess. I haven't seen the movie yet, but some of my friends hated it and some of them didn't. All I know is that I'm not going to see it because I'm going to go see Lilo and Stich. :D (Stich is so cute! :love2: )

How dare you??!!?! I liked Scooby Doo cartoons since I was 5. And he still makes me laugh sometimes. But back to the subject...It was a bad idea to make a movie out of it. Just plain out bad. Its insulting Scooby Doo. And why the he...ck is Scrappy doo the bad guy?!?! They just screwed up the whole plot of Scooby Doo.

Why would anyone go see this POS excuse for a movie...

I can only imagine how terrible the acting in this... it's one thing to act, it's another thing to try to impersonate a cartoon character.... it should stay as a cartoon, which it was better, but still sucked.... this should be a lesson... don't try to modernize something old... esspecially when it's a fuggin cartoon!

Scrappy Doo is the evil villain? Why?! Why did you have to say that?!?!?!?!

Now that my spam is over, I would like to say that:

Scooby Doo was a great cartoon-show for it's time, but like I've said before:
Comic book and cartoon based movies should be made by the animators and editors of those products, not just some Hollywood director out to make a few bucks.
And I stand by that.

I can only imagine how terrible the acting in this...
... :therock: Did you not read my post or what? The acting was really good. Everyone played their parts really well. I mean, I went into the theater thinking it was going to be a bad movie just like most of you, but I came out of there with a smile on my face. It was a good movie. It probably isn't the longest, deepest in plot movie, but it still was worth my money and time.

Those of you complaining and mocking how Scrappy was the villain, get over it. It may seem stupid to you, but did you see it coming? I seriously doubt it. It is just a twist in the movie to catch people off guard, and it did a good job of doing that. I mean, he has his reasons for wanting to taking spite on the Scooby and the gang, and Scrappy has always been a power hungry little thing so obviously he's going to do something drastic. I don't think anyone really likes Scrappy anyway, the dog is annoying as hell.. :p

Correct me if i'm wrong I haven't seen the movie but I heard at the beginning the team splits up? I would think that Scrappy did it to get the team back together. But I haven't seen the move so you know.
Yes, in the beginning the team does split up, but Scrappy did not want to get them back together. I don't want to give too much of the movie away, but Scrappy doesn't like the Scooby and the gang much, for reasons showed in the movie.

Scrappy not like Scooby and the gang?:therock: Oh dear God, what has this world come to?!

Anyway, I have decided that I'll go see it with some of my friends on Saturday. I still don't know about Freddie Prince Jr. playing Fred, (who was my favorite character of of Scooby Doo when I was little...:D) but I'll just have to see, now won't I? :toothy:

Freddie Prinze Jr. played a pretty good Fred. Fred was always kind of arrogant in the cartoon, and Freddie plays him as narcissistic as possible, lol. He even said so on the Daily Show with John Stewart. I think Daphne could have been cast a bit better when it comes to looks. but Sarah Michelle Gellar did a pretty good job.

Meh, my favorite characters were always Velma, Scooby, and Shaggy. :p I think the person who played Velma did a really good job. :)

O well I tried. But that's strange. Scrappy always used to look up to Scobby.....

I've listed reason as to why I'm never going to see this movie.
1. Daphne looks like a slut, she's supposed to be a prissy girl as well
2. Freddie seems to made out as dumb
3. I don't believe tht they use any real sort of lodgic, like on the cartoon they'd run away and come up with some trap and aprehend them to the cops
4. It doesn't do the cartoon justice

I bet piro could come up with reasons to prove my statements wrong, but those are my personal thoughts on the movie

1. Daphne looks like a slut, she's supposed to be a prissy girl as well It's Sarah Michelle Gellar, what do you expect? And she does play a prissy girl. You obviously weren't watching the movie. Sure she fights but I'll quote: "Those creatures are taking over the world? That's so mean." You can't get much more prissy than that.

2. Freddie seems to made out as dumb He did that on purpose, Fred was always a bit egotistical, so that's how he was played. I must say my favorite quote by him is "Dorky chicks like you turn me on too!", lol. I don't know, it might just be because I used to have a crush on Velma when I was little and watching A Pup Named Scooby Doo :p

3. I don't believe tht they use any real sort of lodgic, like on the cartoon they'd run away and come up with some trap and aprehend them to the cops They did run away, set up a trap, and turn them in... what movie were you watching???

4. It doesn't do the cartoon justice Then you probably went into thwe theatre expecting too much. It's a PG movie. It shouldn't be expected to be too plotful and full of point. It really does do the cartoon justice, you just have to go in there expecting the typical Scooby Doo, but just live action and with a lot more humor involved.

One question do they show Scrappy admitting he did it or did they show him at all I never saw what he looked like.
Oh yeah, he admits it. He's trying to take over the world for crying out loud :wow:
